Hazel’s P.O.V. Holly - “Hazel, can you please do the two tables in the corner? Jaren messed up orders again & I have to sort them out now”. Hazel - “I got you girl, unless you want me to fix those orders up instead?” Holly - “That’s ok, I got it. Thank you though.” Hazel - “okay.” I replied while making my way out from behind the counter & heading towards the tables in the corner. We are full on tonight at the diner. Customer’s have been continuously flowing through ever since lunch rush at 1pm. As I made my way over to the two tables in the corner, I made sure to put on my best smile as I recognised a lovely elderly couple who are regulars here. Hazel - “Hi Julie, hi Len. How are we this evening?” Julie - “oh hi dear.” Len - “hello Hazel.” They greet me at the same time. Julie - “we’re well, how has the day treated you?” Len - “I see you’ve been kept on your toes.” Hazel - “The day started quiet, but it’s been very productive & busy since our lunch time rush. Definitely have been on our toes, because I did not even notice you both come in this evening.” I smiled & made conversation with them for a couple of minutes. Julie - “how’s the little peanut growing?” Hazel - “He is growing fast & healthy, but he is definitely making it more difficult to sleep early hours in the morning.” Julie - “oh it really does get like that dear, just make sure your getting a lot of massages & sleep.” Hazel - “thank you Julie, so would you both like your regulars this evening?” Julie - “Yes please dear.” Len - “That would be awesome.” I smile & write down there order. It’s always steak, eggs & a green salad with mint sauce. Len likes his steak medium rare while Julie likes her steak well done. At times they will have chicken casserole but they always love our steak here. Hazel - “Coming right up. Your meals will be with you as soon as possible. Can I get you both a drink while you wait?” Len - “My dear would you like anything other than water?” He asks looking toward his wife. They are honestly the sweetest couple ever, so kind & lovely all the time. Julie - “Just water would be fine thank you.” Hazel - “No worries.” I say & move to the next table. Hazel - “Gentlemen, what can I get for you this evening?” I ask & I notice the first gentleman to look away from the menu with blue eyes looks up at me & I instantly feel my breathing hitch as I am now afraid to look around the table and make eye contact with anyone else, but unfortunately my curiosity got the better of me & I glance to the one next to him. I see a green eyed male, so I glance across from him & catch those grey eyes staring right up at me. For a few seconds I’m in a trance but once I remember my stomach is possibly visible to this asshole, I immediately excuse myself knowing very well that I can not be here in his presence. For the f*****g life of me, why does he have to pop up here & now? I’ve been doing just fine without him near me & my life. I take my eyes away from him, look around the table at the rest of the gentlemen & give somewhat of a smile. Hazel - “Please excuse me for a minute.” I say & turn to speed walk away from that table. Braxton f*****g Lopez!!!! Why the f**k did he have to show up here, he looks so much more handsome than I remember s**t!! The asshole that stole my heart, my virginity, got me pregnant & f*****g left me!!!!! He was literally my whole world & he was supposed to return after two weeks, but I never heard from that fucker ever again!!!! I knew it was too good to be true!!!!! I’m 32 weeks pregnant & I left the house he had me stay in to wait for him, I waited four weeks for the prick and he did not even bother to come back or ring me once. He said he would only be gone on business for two weeks, but I waited four weeks just to never see or hear from him again. It took all of three months for me to lose my virginity to him & I fell in love with him within six months, after which he said he had to go on a business trip but when he left he never answered my calls, never rang me & he never even came back after a month. Now he just pops up here on the other side of the damn country. Hazel - “Holly I’ve gotta run to the bathroom, but can you please take the last table’s order? I only done Julie & Len.” Holly - “Yes of course, you okay?” Hazel - “Yeah I’m good thanks, but this kid of mine is really kicking down on my bladder right now.” I say while turning and beginning to walk away. Holly - “Don’t worry hun, I got you.” I don’t give a response and I turn the corner & immediately go in to the bathroom. WHAT!! THE!!!! f**k!!!!! I’d really love to believe he didn’t notice my baby bump, but honest what are the chances? I have such bad luck in life, I don’t even understand how or why!!!! Braxton’s P.O.V. Well f**k me that was the last person I thought I’d bump into right now, or anytime soon s**t! Speaking of bumps .. I know damn straight I seen a bump .. right? Fuck!!!! Has she already got someone new in her life? Is she happy with him? Has she really moved on from me? From us?! f**k!!! I know I f****d this all up on my own, but damn if onl- Holly - “Hey fellas, sorry about that, but what can I get for you all this evening?” A new waitress says to us, s**t I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn’t even realise someone else had come to take our orders. Everyone ordered, but I decided I wanted something off the menu now. Gone was my appetite for food. I needed to speak with her. Kalen - “Bro where are you going?” Braxton - “Worry about yourself, I need to use the bathroom.” Grayson - “Brax, really? Do-“ My brother knew exactly what I was about to do, but I cut him off straight away with a stern look, because I knew he was about to tell me to leave her be. I couldn’t just walk away from here now I know she’s here, I wouldn’t leave her again. Braxton - “I need to.” Grayson - “your funeral.” I heard him mutter as I walk away from the table & head towards where she went. I assume she headed into the staff area & not the bathroom, I don’t really know but I also don’t care. As I pulled open the double doors to head into the kitchen, I stopped in my tracks, my breathed hitched & I was a goner in those beautiful hazel orbs. f**k I’ve missed her so much. Hazel - “excuse me sir, you are not allowed back here. This is for staff only.” I was pulled out of my thoughts by her sweet voice that I haven’t heard in months, but it feels like it’s been years. Braxton - “can we please talk.” I say nervously. Hazel - “sir, if you don’t mind I need you to step out of this area.” She looks so beautiful & healthy & she has a glow about her that never seems to diminish. Braxton - “I really just need a minute or two to ex-“ I didn’t get finish because she cut me off. Hazel - “Sir, please leave.” I could sense a bit of hesitation in her voice or maybe it was nervousness, either way she didn’t want to talk to me & while she is on the clock I wasn’t going to push it because the last thing I needed to do right now was cause a scene or possibly put her job at risk. I know where she is now, so I will definitely be waiting on her to finish. Besides it will give me a little bit of time to hopefully think about what or more so how I am going to explain my actions in the past towards her. Hazel’s P.O.V. Well that was totally unexpected. I didn’t think he’d pop up here, but it doesn’t matter because right now I have a job to do. The night seems to go by smoothly & before I know it, it’s 10:30pm, time to close up & get ready to go home. By 11pm I’m out the door & on my way home. Gosh I can’t wait to shower & sleep, I feel like I haven’t sat down all day today due to how busy we were. I had to do a back to back shift today & my feet are killing me. As soon as I walk out the door, I’m greeted by grey eyes that I thought I would never see again. Ugh as if I needed this right now, s**t!! Bad enough I can’t stop thinking about him the last few hours, why lord?!!! Braxton - “who’s baby are you having?” He says calmly, a little too calmly I might add. Hazel - “Sir, my personal business has nothing to do with you.” Braxton - “Are you happy? Does he treat you well?” I ignored his questions & started to walk away so I could get home already. Braxton - “can I give you a ride?” Nothing, I didn’t want to say a word to him anymore because I felt like I would lose my s**t at him especially considering I am super hormonal. Braxton - “can you please just wait a minute & stop.” I carried on, until I felt his hand on my wrist and he’s turning me around to face him. Next thing I know, my hand flies to his face & I’ve slapped him. I think it was safe to say that I was more surprised than he was, if I didn’t know better, I’d say he was actually expecting that or worse judging by the look on his face. Hazel - “Do not ever lay your f*****g hands on me ever again, my life is none of your concern & I only need one thing from you & that is for you to stay the f**k out of my life, like you have done.” Braxton - “Hazel, please.” I didn’t give a response, I turned around & tried to continue away from him. Braxton - “I’m sorry, I- uh- I know that saying sorry doesn’t fix anything but please let me explain.” Hazel - “I don’t need a f*****g explanation, I needed you to keep your word, I needed you to be honest with me, I needed … I needed you.” I whispered the last word, as tears came to my eyes. I needed to get away from him immediately because my hormones are all over the place & I need time to comprehend this encounter. Braxton - “Can I please give you a ride?” He said as he let my wrist go. In response I shook my head ‘no’ because I didn’t trust my voice right now. Braxton - “Haze please, let me just give you a ride.” Hazel - “I don’t need anything from you okay.” Braxton - “That may be true .. but I still need you.” I was lost for words, I was mad as hell at the audacity of the jerk, but I was also lost for words because I’ve forgotten how straightforward he can be when it comes to his feelings. Hazel - “You know you have some audacity saying s**t like that to me, if you needed me so badly than where were you? Why didn’t you call? Why didn’t you come back? Why didn’t you answer me? You know what, don’t even bother answering me because it’s probably a lie or some bullshit explanation that I don’t want nor need.” I say angrily & stomp away from him. I get home, put my favourite playlist on & head to the kitchen to grab me some snacks. I ate dinner at the diner so I’m not really hungry, but I feel like some snack’s right now. It’s almost like a routine, especially if I skip dessert this is per-se my supper & dessert. Hehe. I don’t have a big fancy house or anything, I just have a little two bedroom flat for myself. I eat my snacks while I’m in my room preparing my clothes for a shower, so that I can get to bed. Luckily it’s my day off, so knowing myself I will either watch random video’s, a movie or read a book until I fall asleep. The next day I go out shopping & upgrade my wardrobe, because it’s been a few months since I’ve last treated myself to a few new things. I don’t always have spare cash to splash around, but I’ve been working back to back and covering shifts so I’m able to nag some extra cash when I do so. Lately all I spend money on is bills, food & my baby. I love being pregnant & carrying my baby, but I do not like the hormones, my bladder that I feel I am no longer in control of & I definitely don’t like the fact that I can no longer sleep on my belly.
