I groaned deeply, my lips halfway parted as I tried my best to squint my eyes close when the warm rays of the sun seeped through the curtains of the bedroom and hit my face through the covers. I turned to the other side of the bed and ran my hands through the bed as though I was searching for something or rather someone but when my hand came back empty, I slowly opened my eyes to take in my surrounding and that's when I realized that I was sleeping on the bed alone and that Barrett had left me a while ago because his side of the bed was now cold.
