Chapter 2 The Defiant Lawyer: Su Lingling{1} We all desire to become what we glimpse when we shut our eyes and drive into another universe of dreams. Trying to behove what our dreams whispers into our ears but life has a funny way of proving us wrong by twirling it into our deepest abyss. Inside Flames Law famously known as it initial F.L,the richest and largest law firm in the world with all their assets estimated to trillions of dollars had grown to be the world's best and fairest consulting law firm. Inside myriads of office, was an elegant and defiant female lawyer sitten as all her attention was concentrated on her laptop her hands were swiftly typing the keys. She looked in her early twenties with delicate features. A well endowed slender and fair body which fits perfectly inside the Red Rose white shirt and black penciled skirts with a pair of body color stockings and 5 inches heels. Her glossy and shoulder lengthen black hair which was packed into a messy ponytail befitted her well sculptured face. A pair of ocean blue pupils with cat like eyeballs and long eyelashes anyone would pray for, ran along to her sharp and pointed nose and ended at her luscious red little lips like that of a bloomy cherry. She occasionally took few sips of her strawberry mint flavoured coffee from the pink mug beside her laptop. Her office was a very simple one with painted cyan walls and a smoking grey table placed at the centre of the little office lying on it stacked documents including the laptop she was typing. A few cabinets, chairs along with a bookshelf stocked with law based books and a coffee maker on one of the mahogany table. The decor was simple and superb. So much expected as she was spending her 5th year in Flames Law as one of the consulting lawyers. The door of her office slowly open and a middle aged woman made her way through. She left what she was doing in her laptop and stood up to honor the woman's presence. "Mrs. Xue." She bowed in a respectful manner to the woman and signalled to have her seat pointing to the one opposite her. The two sat down as silence crept it way into the four corners of the wall. ""Lawyer Su Lingling, you have to help me to fight for my daughter's justice. I can't just watch everything drain to futility." The defiant female lawyer, Su Lingling watched the middle age lady helplessly. She was handled over her case by her departmental director and she had been labouring on it. She couldn't tell the poor woman her case was unsolvable; it was against working ethics to panick to client with pessimistic words. The woman, Mrs. Xue case was human right of her daughter being crushed by a wayward tycoon's daughter in the society. The daughter of Harvard Stars, a famous fashion industry in Ling City of China ran into Mrs. Xue only child, a 13 year old young daughter on her way from school. Her daughter was all she had after her husband died few years ago. Her only dream was battling with life on the hospital beds chained with many strings and somewhere lost in the depths of coming. Being the daughter of a tycoon, she escaped her way through the crime and acted all nonchalant slandering the poor woman of raising a psychopathic daughter. She claimed it was her daughter who bumped into her car and don't feel sorry for the poor lady. There was nothing to do; the rich will always have their ways cheated. "That b***h must pay for all these and even insulting me." Mrs. Xue broke into tears as Su Lingling tired to comfort her. She understood the agony of motherhood she was undergoing. After all, she's a daughter to someone. She just couldn't assure the woman a successful outcome. "Don't worry. I'm visiting Wang Xixi of Harvard Stars today and hopefully she would come back to her senses." After a little conversation, Mrs. Xue left her office. Unlike other female lawyers in her departmental who always leave their offices to have a coffee time and gossip and hunt for handsome male clients, she was always locked up in her office which her co female lawyers took as pride especially as she always finds favour at their departmental director's sight. Her director, Qin Yang an avid lover of food with his large tummy as a living testimony and his bald head conferring him as a sage always praise her for her slightest moves and trusted big cases into her hands and leave others to struggle with trivial and negligible cases to hand. With all these and including her great looks and physique made male workers thirst for her and female workers envy her. Su Lingling always shun the looks of both sides and focus on her work to assist her mother with her little bakery store and her younger siblings with the amount she was earning. Things hadn't been the way as it was since their father's death few years ago. Being the eldest child, she had to take the place of her father as the breadwinner as her mother couldn't help. She scanned through her personalized tablet and learned she was free for the rest of the day. She decided to utilize the opportunity to visit the spoilt brat of Harvard Stars, Wang Xixi. She took the lift and made her way to the company's packing lot. She got into her little and almost broken down car. She headed to the Harvard's mansion located at the heart of Ling City. She pulled her car to a halt. She got down and showed her ID card to the guards who let her in without further enquiries. She was led by the maidservant into an exclusive bathroom where Wang Xixi was having an expensive bubble bath. The maidservants were attending to her; one were brushing her silky hair while one was massaging her body bone joints. Su Lingling pitied and cursed beneath. Hell life a spoilt life she was living by a parents who over pampered her. Su Lingling bowed to her even though she was younger than her; around 18 years. What could she do; here in China money speaks and covers the poor. She was the only daughter of Harvard Stars after all. A spoilt heiress,a slutty b***h. On sensing her presence, she told her maidservant to spare them some moment of privacy. "A little sorry from you will go along way for the woman to drop her charges and a visit to her daughter with her bills paid is enough." Su Lingling started which made Wang Xixi laughed out like a possessed teenage girl. She sipped her champagne before replying her. She looked at Su Lingling with disgust. "I'm Wang Xixi of Harvard Star do you expect me to say sorry to a street dog. What do you take me for? She needed money and think can make me a source? She's the one that gave birth to a useless daughter who can't look where she was going?" Wang Xixi yelled angrily "You were the one who hit her because you were drunk. The pedestrian light was green but you were so recklessly you didn't notice the little girl who was crossing the road. It's against your side." Su Lingling couldn't resist herself from talking. From a young age, she always hate any act of injustice and even up till now. She just couldn't watch the uncultured and feathered brain b***h lambasting the poor woman. "Hey! I thought my father has cleared this mess up. Why still persisting on this matter? I can't blame you since you're one of them, those street dog." Saying this hurtful words, she emptied her glass of champagne on Su Lingling. Su Lingling boiled with anger as the champagne dripped from her race and dripped on her white shirt. She clenched her first and left without uttering a word or turning back.
