CHAPTER 34 Mission 34 : MISSION RESUME : DEFEAT THE DRAGONESS IN HIS UNEASY state and confused mind, he did what he really love -- reading. Minutes after minutes, hour by hour, Grey devoured every hard bounded books his editor gave him. It was the only thing he did while staying at that rest house by that remote place, away from the noisy city he used to lived in. He does not know if his editor would agree, but he still requested a certain genre. As promised, his editor got him his requested book. Though, he did not really approved. But what can he do? He was glad that the manager did listen to him after a while. The moment upon seeing the covers of the books, he knew that those are fantasy books. It was stories of witches, elves , fairies, and dragons. It was a different genre from the books he used to write. Of course, he writes some erotic books. He started to open each book that he have. Unexpectedly, he he found himself turning the pages. Page by page, chapter by chapter, without stopping, he keeps reading and reading. He can't seem to stop reading and wanted to know what could possibly happen next. These chapters have more intense cliffhanger than those novels he used to write. These books allows him to think wider that his knowledge. These kinds of books give him another kind of vibe. It was not pure ticklish and love, but these give him feeling of liveliness. He would feel that he was on that world, even if he is not. He would think that he was with the protagonist and other main characters, traveling in those fantasy worlds. That was very nostalgic, he thought. Books are really fascinating. Books really are windows to another world. These are unpredictable and wonderful. It was like watching a movie for the first time. It was a pleasant experience. He never knew that these kinds of books would interest him. It was way more interesting than he thought it was. It gave him a more pleasurable feelings. He was not sure of it, but it made his mind open to another set of worlds. It was another window and he felt at home. He was just reading in his chair but it is fascinating that the world in a book can take you to that very place without actually there. Like you were real to those worlds. He was a bookworm. He have been fond of books. He began reading for how long he can remember. It became his world from the harsh reality he was into. A world full of competition and greediness, that even him did not notice becoming one of these human. He have lived in pages more than the outside world, though he was well known. He was an introvert who like to spend his time, jotting down details and creating masterpieces. Reading books like this is making him feel a feeling of being in love. It was a feeling he do not know he could have. He would roam around the house carrying that same book. It was sunset when he finished one. It was such a short one but breath taking. It took him weeks to finish them all. There , he felt the sand on his bare feet. He took a deep breath and looked at the sun mirrored on the clear body of water. Like the book he read, he wanted to know what will happen next on the war in Enchantria. The sky has this smooth collision of cottons of red and yellow tones. The sun is almost down, kissing the horizon a little deeper. The intensity of this fire solors were enough to calm his mind. It was like a perfect romantic view from the shore. The world is slowly facing its night sky. The wind from ashore roared on his ears. It was starting to get chilly. Seeing this kind of view is making him take a deep sigh. The tide kissed his toes and he looked down. There he realized that it all started in a body of water. But will it worked out this time. Without hesitation, he walked towards the water, leaving the book on the shore, drowning himself. Eveything turned dark. And after moments, he could feel someone tapping his cheeks. He could feel the clump of water in his throat and began coughing. The man beside him helped him relief by rubbing his back. "What the hell do you think you are doing?" asked a familiar voice. His eyes opened in shock and looked at him. He can't believe it. In front of him was his nagging editor. He was still in the modern world. And he thought it was already Dio, his cousin in Enchantria. But it was not. They both have the same faces. Sadness evolved his heart. Are all of it were just really a dream? He was starting to think that everything they were saying about was true. He is really losing his mind. Out of nothing, he started to laugh. But it was a laugh full of sadness. He began questioning himself. Why? What happened ? He thought he will be back to Enchantria. But it looks like it turned just like a dream. All of the things happened in that world were just part of his imaginative dream. None of it really happened. All of the things that he saw and experienced were all fake. The editor looked at him like he had lost his mind."Why are you laughing? Did you really lose your mind?" the editor asked while looking at him in disbelief. Seconds before he slowly stops, wiping the tears on the corner of his eyes. He talked after couple of seconds. "You think so? I think I am. I also think I am, " he answered in almost whispering voice. He did gone crazy. Thinking that he might be back in that fantasy world just by diving in to the body of water like what he did the first time. It was hard to believe the first time he set foot on that world. But why is it harder to believe that he went there. He was there, he thought. But was he really there? Time passes by too fast. Days turned in to weeks. Weeks turned in to month. And nothing happened. He waited for nothing. While looking at the vast body of water, he thought about accepting the fact that it was all just a dream. That everything happened in Enchantria was just a dream that he experienced fantasy . It was just a concept of mind. There were no elemental magics, no magical creatures, no kingdom named Enchantria that needs saving, no dragon to defeat. It was just all ideas that came from a book. He had been thinking a lot lately. " Maybe , I need to go back writing. I need to publish another book, " he murmurs as he call on his editor. "Bring me my laptop. I want to finish my drafts on manuscripts." The editor seemed to be shocked. "That is definitely a good news, " his editor said. Obviously, smiling that he is finally back. The editor did brought his laptop. But he asked if he could write on that place. He sat on his table with an open monitor. He placed his hands with his fingers on the letters on keyboard. "What to write . . . what to write? " he asked himself. He nearly jumped on his seat when suddenly , the thunder roared and lightning struck just a few meters from the shore line. "Is there a thunderstorm? " he mumbled. Damn. He even didn't know the condition of weather that time. He shrugged his shoulders and face the monitor onced again. He was about to pressed a letter when the thunder s came roaring and lightning came flashing like wild. The wind blew so strong that it opened the dooor way to the balcony of the house. His head authomatically looked that way. "Did I forgot to close it ? I thought I closed it before the sun sets a while ago. " he said. Then, the lights turned off. Electrity was gone. The only lights that served in that chaotic night were the lightnings. He pressed a key on the keyboard but unexpectedly, it was also turned off. He thought that the battery was fully charged. "Oh. Come on. What is going on. I just wanted to go back to my old life. " He walked towards the door way entrance to the balcony. The rain was pouring so hard that raindrops wanted to come in. He was about to shut the door when a glimpse of ball lighting from the body of water. Is he seeing things again? He blinked. Rubbed his eyes and opened those. There he saw not just one ball of light but a few more. Until it formed a cicle. Is it just his imagination or it looked like a ball of light of those pixies from Enchantria ? He didn't bother wearing slippers nor coat. He run swiftly just to get to the shore. The balls of light were really there and it was dancing in a circular motion. If it was just the lights of a boat or something, he doesn't know. There is only one way to find out what it was really. He rushed towards the water. Not bothering about the lightsning and thunderstorms. He swam towards it. The lights becomes brighter and brighter. He could feel his breath thightening. He could no longer breathe. As soon as he exhaled , he opened his eyes and came to the world he once never expected. He is back. He knew it. He knew it deep in his heart. That Enchantria was not just a fantasy world in his dreams or imagination. But a world that needs a hero. A hero to defeat villainess.
