CRITICAL MISSION: CAPTURE THE VILLAINESS' HEART CHAPTER 33 Mission 33 : Be The Hero of Enchantria THE WHITE WALLS of that room made him blink a few times. Gray, once more, opened his eyes. His body aches that makes him hard to move. It was as if he was in a great battle. But he knew himself that he was not there anymore. Gone were the magic circles. Gone were the weird kind d of trees, plants, and foods. Gone were the creatures he met in his dreams. And most of all, gone were the raging flying creature he wanted to defeat. Everyone around him, especially those who wore white robes, were busy examining his vitals. Some were checking if he can see lights, while some are jotting down every details they could see in him. Everything was still a little bit blurry. His eyes rolled around the room and landed to a familiar figure. He knew it was the different one. His cousin, Dio, in the world Enchantria was beside him, but he now wore eye glasses. His face doesn't show any strong emotions. Unlike the one he knew that there could be no second passed be that he did not utter a single word. Standing beside him was his nagger manager and editor, who stresses him on his deadlines. It was as if waking up in a dream. Well, he doesn't know which world is real now. He experienced feelings, pain, and sufferings. "I am so glad that you are finally awake," his editor said before looking to the doctor in charge. "What is his status, doc?" "His vitals are good. We still need to run some tests just to make sure. But I am sure that he'll be fine. Once we're done checking, I'll tell you as soon as possible when he'll be discharged," the doctor explained. It was a woman and somehow, her voice seems familiar in his ears. His editor thanked him and sat beside him. "Hey, how do you feel right now?" he asked him with worries in his voice. It was the first time he asked about his feelings. He always asked about his manuscripts and drafts. He gently moved his head up and down to nod. "That's good. All you need to do is take all the rest you needed. You don't have to worry anything else. I'll take care of those matters." He closed his eyes. He wonders if his editor can manage to take care of his worries. Like how could he defeat the dragon. He did not utter anything about that fantasy world he came from. He doesn't what will they think of it. He might be considered some crazy person. He doesn't want that to happen. He is just too weak that mo ment to say anything. After the said tests, his release was approved. They did not went to his home. Rather, his editor recently bought a vacation house near a shore. His editor suggested that place for him to be peaceful. He needed that after that incident. They searched immediately the vacinity upon reporting he was missing. The men who abducted him were captured. His editor gave him time to rest and gain again his normal self. While he enjoyed his vacation near a shore where no one would even bother him, except his thoughts. He sleeps and sleeps whenever he have time. Well, the truth is, he was waiting and trying if he could go back to the fantasy world he came from. He was glad that he made it back alive to his reality. But something is missing. All his time in Enchantria, he wishes to go back, even if it takes anything to sacrifice just to get back. But now that he is really back, he couldn't let himself be truly happy. Not that fact that he left the war in Enchantria. Every one is hoping for a peaceful kingdom. And they were relying on him as their summoned hero. He was just ready that time to fulfill his duty. But why did he went back with an unfinished business. He was still fighting. Or is the war over? Is it a sign that he was lost? Did he fail? Did he gave up the kingdom to the villainess? "You're lost again in your thoughts," his editor said. He put the glass of fresh iced fruit juice on the table beside him. "I just noticed ever since you woke up, it feels like you're lost. It was as if it you're not yourself." "You think so?" "Are you okay? Is anything bothering you?" "Oh, come on. You also not yourself. Why do you care for me that much now? Are you waiting for me to get back on writing?" he asked. "No. It's not that - - kinda. But no pressure. Take all the time you need. I'll even get you anything you like," he said. "Yeah. I know you. That's why you are my editor. And I was thankful for that." The editor just nodded. "By the way, speaking of writing. Can you get me books?" "Really? Sure. What do you need? Your favorite one? Or one your masterpieces? Or a recent published book from the best selling authors?" "Anything fantasy or adventure, please , " he requested. "Okay. I'll get you a fantasy adven -- what?!" he was shocked. "Why are you asking me to get you books that is quite far from your genre?" The editor blinked few times. "Do I really know you? Are you sure you're Gray?" he asked. "Well, I myself, don't even know myself." As promised, his editor got him his requested book. The moment upon seeing the covers of the books, he knew that those are fantasy books. It was stories of witches, elves, fairies, and dragons. He opened the book. And found himself turning the pages page by page, chapter by chapter, without stopping. He can't seem to stop reading and wanted to know what could possibly happen next. He would roam around the house carrying that same book. It was sunset when he finished it. It was such a short one but breath taking. There he felt the sand on his bare feet. He took a deep breath and looked at the sun mirrored on the clear body of water. Like the book he read, he wanted to know what will happen next on the war in Enchantria. The tide kissed his toes and he looked down. There he realized that it all started in a body of water. But will it worked out this time. Without hesitation, he walked towards the water, drowning himself. He wanted to go back to that world, even if he doesn't know if it was real or not. He wanted to go back and be the hero of Enchantria.
