Back to school

Once we reach school and iv parked the car, Gem turns to me "are you sure you're ok?"

"Yeah im fine, look Stevies waiting for you," i say pointing to the scraggly boy standing by a tree

"Yeah but i can stay with you if you want?"

"Hey im fine now get out of my car, ill see you later, love you bye," i say whilst pushing her out of the car

"Ok ok, i get it, ill see you later love you too big sis". Once Gem has left i quietly sit in the car for a few moments to calm my nerves before i face the day.

I was worried because my first lesson was English and i sat next to Luke but i didn't need to worry, by the time i got there most people were already there and it looked as though Luke had moved seats and was now sitting with a group of the popular kids, as i walked towards my seat Luke looked up looking directly in my eyes making my breath catch then the next second Shannon placed her hand on his arm and leaned into him to gain his attention, i scowled at them and marched to my seat where i tried to distract myself from the sudden anger i felt at seeing Shannons hands-on Luke, the days lesson should have been easy enough all we had to do was give an in-depth answer about Romeo and Juliets feeling for each other but i did terribly i couldn't concentrate, i have never felt anger like im feeling now my blood is boiling,i spent the whole lesson envisioning long and painful deaths for Shannon "brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" the bell signaling the end of the lesson jolts me out of my daydream so i throw my book into my bag and prepare to bolt out of the class but Shannon seems to have other ideas when she steps in front of me "hey loser, back so soon? we all thought.... well hoped you had left" "well your not that lucky" i snipe wanting to make one of my fantasies a reality "hmmmm you really are a dork don't you think so Luke?" she says turning to Luke and to my surprise Luke doesn't reply as i thought he would " leave her alone Shannon" she's just as confused as me because she turns to him "what?" "you heard me, you touch her and ill make you pay, that's a promise" then he turns to me "are you ok?" "im fine," i say confused my confusion must have shown on my face because Luke took a step closer to me and reached out to my hand but as the tip of his fingers brushed my hand i felt a shock which made me pull my hand back without warning my heart felt heavy and i could feel my eyes welling up with tears so again i found myself running away "Beth " i heard Luke yell after me,i also heard Shannon laughing, but i just kept going until i stumbled into the girl's bathroom and locked myself into an empty cubical and cried my heart out, unsure why im crying but knowing im crying for someone who isn't even mine.
