"What," exclaimed Lord Baxon, "You found the other dragon warriors and didn't bring them with you!" "Lord Baxon I apologize but, they were not with us when the two-headed beast attacked. Besides, It would have been too early to bring them to Rayearth.," Ren explained, "I just met them. If I had told them the truth, they would have thought I was a crazy person. My plan was to become their comrade and earn their trust. then, I was going to tell them." "Two-headed beast," Hissana repeated," you said you were attacked by a two-headed beast?" "Um, yeah," stated Kera, "It was a giant two-headed wolf. Why do you ask; is that important?" "I'm surprised all of you have forgotten," stated Hissana, "The two-headed wolf is one of her familiars and is the first sign for her return." "This is bad," said Lord Baxon, "Captain Ren; you and Kera must return to the earth and bring the other warriors here." "When do you want us to leave sir," asked Ren. "Tomorrow morning," stated Baxon, "Till then, I think it would be a good idea if Kera learned a little bit more about Rayearth. Ren, you should get some rest. you were badly injured. "Kera why don't I give you a tour of the palace," suggested Hissana, "Just us girls so we can get to know one another better." "Sure that sounds like a good idea," said Kera. With that, the two of them left the room. "you can drop the act know Ren," stated Remy, "We all know you're in pain. You just don't want the girl to worry." Ren plopped down in a chair. "You know me too well. I think my wound opened up again." "Ren go back to your room. I'll send a healer to tend to you soon," ordered Baxon. "Yes sir," answered Ren. Ren got up from the chair and left the room. :-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-: Lady Hissana showed Kera around the palace. They went from the stargazing deck in the north tower all the way to the stables where the animals were kept. they finally came to their last stop, the castle garden which also served as the training grounds. the garden was in the center of the palace. the edge of the garden was a wall of trees, bushes, and flowers. there were four paths that led to a dirt circle that was used for sword practice. surrounding the circle was an obstacle course that looked like a jungle gym. "This place is huge," said Kera to stop to catch her breath. "I know," answered Hissana, "but what do you expect from a royal palace." "Royal palace," Kera exclaimed. "Yes," explained Hissana, "this used to be the home of the royal family. now we use it for our base." Kera was about to speak when she heard the swing of a sword. she looked to where the noise was coming from. it was lord Enzo practicing. Kera watched him as he kept swinging his sword. lord Enzo finally noticed her and gave her an angry look. he researched his sword and began to walk away. "Lord Enzo wait," Kera yelled as she ran after him, "please may I speak with you." Lord Enzo stopped dead in his tracks. he turned around and slowly swathes his sword. he pointed his blade's point at Kera. "Choose a weapon," states Enzo. " I challenge you." "Led Enzo what are you doing," Hissana cried. "Seeking the truth," said Enzo, "I'll only say it one more time. choose a weapon." "I don't have a choice do I," answered Kera. Kera walked over to the rack of weapons. she looked at each one. there were several types of swords and many spears with different pointed heads. out of the corner of her eye, Kera got a glimpse of a weapon in a familiar shape. it was a fan. Kera picked up the small fan. it was fairly light despite how it looked. Kera opened the fan carefully. the fan was green and the surface looked as if it was rough and bumpy. it was as if it was made of dragon scales. at the end of the fan's hilt, small bells hung from black ribbons. "This fan," Kera said as she looked at it in amazement, "I choose this." "What am I doing," Kera yelled mentally, "I can't go up against a sword with this but for some reason, I'm drawn to it." "lord Enzo this is ridiculous. I don't think this girl has ever held a weapon in her life. especially the one she chooses," exclaimed Hissana. Kera and Enzo walked to the center of the practice ring. "since this is your first duel, ill explain how it works," said Hissana, "each duelist gets one weapon of his choice. the duel continues until one is knocked out of the ring, loses consciousness, or gives up. if you kill your opponent you lose." "Alright," said Kera. "The duel between lady Kera and lord Enzowill now commence. you may begin at the next bell tone," said Hissana. -;-;-;-;-;--;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;-;- Ren walked on the second-floor hall balcony. he was about to walk into his room to rest when he suddenly heard the bell ring and the first clash of what sounded like a duel was starting. ren turned around and walked to the railing and was stunned at what he saw. Lord Enzo and Kera were fighting. "what the hell," yelled ren. ren ran down the hall to the stairs that lead out to the garden. he ran over to the practice field. he saw lady Hisana standing there as a witness for the duel. "lady Hissana," ren yelled, "what is going on?" "captain ren," stated Hissana in surprise, "you're supposed to be resting." "How can I with this going on? how did this start," asked ren. "lord Enzo is seeking the truth in his own way," stated Hissana, "that what he said anyway, all we can do now is watch." lord Enzo and Kera locked each other strike. Enzo pushed and Kera was knocked to the ground. he brought his sword over his head and swung down. Kera rolled out of the way just in time to dodge it. Kera rolled once again to get some distance. "It seems the young lady has some experience with her weapon of choice," stated Hissana, "no it's more than that, she has battle experience." "perhaps her spirit is remembering her battle experience from the war," responded Ren, "yet, past experience does give her some credit but, she would still need lesson s now to know how to wield that fan. Kera how do you know how to use that fan." Kera blocked Enzo's attack. "I use to take fan dancing lessons. I guess mom was right when she said that they would come in handy." "well that explains why her movements are so graceful," added Hissana. "graceful movements won't help her win," stated Enzo, "and you two stop interfering." "how rude," yelled hissana, "fine ill just leave then." hissana pouted as she turned and left. "Kera be careful," yelled ren, "Enzo is a master swordsman. he's even better than lord Baxon and me." "I already figured that out," yelled Kera in response as she thrusted her fan at Enzo. he blocked it. Enzo jumped back, gaining distance between them. he raised his blade over his head with both hands grasping it. Wind began to swirl around the blade. out of the whirlwind, sparks of thunder began to form. he brought the blade down fast. "lighting strike," Enzo yelled. It headed straight for Kera.  "Kera doge it quick," warned ren. Kera rolled to the left. she beryl made it in time, but she didn't escape unscathed. Blood dripped down Kera's right leg. Kera put her hand on the wound and pressed down on it to try and stop the bleeding. "what am I going to do, at this rate I'm going to lose or worse," Kera thought to herself. "Lord Enzo you can't use your powers against her she doesn't have a contact with the elements," yelled ten, "that is clearly unfair." "No it's not," stated Enzo, "besides if she really is a dragon warrior, she wouldn't need a contract now would she." Enzo stared at Kera, "now would be the time to show me proof." "He wants proof now," Kera yelled mentally, "he challenged me to test my skills and to give him proof and this weapon. what on earth was I thinking? I only picked this weapon because of a gut feeling. he can I beat a sword with this little fan!" Suddenly a strong wind blew by. "Oh, this feeling," Kera said, " it's just like from that time." Kera had a flashback of a fan blowing the wind and controlling it. Kera staggered to her feet and faced Enzo. Kera opened her fan and another strong gust of wind began to blow. yet, this one was different. Kera stretched her arm out to the side of her. she waved it down and brought her and waved the fan back up to the other side of her with gentle dancing movements. she waved her fan hard straight back across in front of her hard. A gust of wind was pushed forward. it changed onto flying blades of light. "Dance of blades,"  Kera yelled. The light blades went straight for Enzo. he dodged them all but one that slated his arm. Enzo looked at Kera stunned. "that spell," Enzo started, "where did you learn it." "Um," Kera states as her mind went blank," I just felt it come and the words just felt natural as they can it of my mouth. it felt as though my b****y moved on its own." Lord Enzo gave an angry face once again. he seethed his sword and walked away.  "What is with that guy" Kera stated. Ren ran to Keras's side. "are you alright?"  "I'm fine," answered Kera, "anyways are you not suppose to be resting?" "I was on my way when I saw you fighting lord Enzo," responded ren, "why didn't you refuse the duel?" "Well isn't bad manners to say no to a duel," Kera asked. Ren started to laugh, "bad manners! Lord Enzo could have killed you and try more worried about bad manners!" "I also felt like it was something I had to do," stated Kera.
