Kera could smell the woody aroma of a burning fire; she slowly opened her eyes. Kera found herself lying in a canopy bed. she sat up and look around at her new surroundings. Kera found herself in a bedroom that looked as if it came out of the Medieval era. The walls were covered in handmade tapestries. One of them across the room caught her eye. she got out of under the covers and stood up. Kera felt a little lightheaded but it slowly passed. That's when she noticed, her clothes had been changed into a nightgown and her wounds were treated with great care. Kera walked over to the tapestry to get a better look. It was a picture of a battle between four girls and what looked like a witch. Suddenly, Kera heard the door open. A Mid-elder aged man dressed in what looked liked armor came into the room. He set a tray full of food on the table.
"It's good to see you awake young lass," said the man.
"Um, hi," Kera stated in confusion, "Who are you?"
"Forgive me, I've forgotten my manners, "said the man, "My name is Baxon; General of the fire Guard. It is an honor to welcome you to Phoenix city, capital of Rayearth." he then bowed.
"Rayearth,"Kera asked.
A knock came from the door. A girl came in carrying what looked like clothes. "here we are; put these on, they should fit. I brought you some food to eat. We will talk more after you do," Baxon said.
He and the young girl left the room. Kera went over the table. she found a plate of fresh fruit, two pieces of buttered bread, and a tall glass of milk. she ate as much as she could. then she changed into her new clothes. Kera was given a white sweater that has a weird symbol on its right sleeve, a pair of black tights, a brown belt, and knee-high brown boots. There was another knock on the door.
"Come in," answered Kera. Baxon came into the room.
"Oh no, " Kera exclaimed, "Ren! I was with a boy with red hair. is he okay? is he safe?"
"Calm down," said Baxon," Don't worry, the lad will live. He is recovering in the medical hall. Now then, young lass could you tell me what happened to my captain?"
"It's my fault," answered Kera lowering her head, "We were attacked by a giant monster. Ren got hurt because he was protecting me." Tears started to roll down from Kera's eyes. "I'm so sorry. If I was not there with him..,"Baxon stopped her.
"If you weren't there he might not be alive," Baxon said while he patted her head, " I thank you young lass for protecting him with your powers."
"Powers," Kera stated," I don't have any powers."
"Well you do now young lass," explained Baxon, They awakened when Ren was in danger and you did what you had to do."
"Could you tell me how I got here," asked Kera.
"That you can thank Ren for, stated Baxon, "He used what's known as A time key to bringing you to our world for treatment."
"Your world," Kera repeated, "I'm in another world? how long have I been here?"
"Yes young lass; as I said earlier," said Baxon as went over to some curtains and opened them., "Welcome to Rayearth." He relieved a marvelous view of mountains and forest. "Time flows differently here than it does in your world. You have been here for about three days in our time; that would be about if only a few hours have passed in your world. True-time has been stopped here for the past hundred years. None have aged either."
"That's a good thing to know. my friends would kill me if a disappeared for that long," Kera said as she walked over to the window; her eyes went wide. "I've seen this place before in my dreams. it's more beautiful in person," exclaimed Kera," Um, would it be alright if i saw Ren now?"
"Later, "Baxon respond, "he needs to rest. For now, how about we go meet with the can leaders. They wish to speak with you."
"Okay, Kera responded.
Baxon lead the way. he lead them down the hallway. Kera could hear someone yelling from a room. "How do we know if this girl is a dragon warrior? Did Captain Ren bring any proof with him?"
"It seems they already know of your arrival," explained Baxon as he opened the door, "Welcome to the hall of Norn."
Kera walked into what looked like a library. The walls were covered in shelves all the way to the ceiling. In the center of the room was a round table. there were three people seated. "How do we know if this girl isn't a spy of the witch, " said a young boy in an angry voice. He had long black hair, dark purple eyes and looked to be around ten years old.
"Why don't you get to know her before you judge her lord Enzo," stated Baxon.
Lord Enzo turned and looked at them. "this is the girl, "Enzo asked.
"Yes, Lord Enzo, this is uh," Baxon's mind went blank," I'm sorry lass I don't think I ever asked for your name."
A young girl sitting at the table giggled. "that is just like you Lord Baxon; forgetting their basics of greeting. It's nice to meet you, I am Hissana; leader of the earth clan," said lady Hissana. Lady Hissana was a slender girl with long white hair and blue eyes.
"It's nice to meet you," said Kera bowing, "I'm." Kera was interrupted.
"Remy, leader of the water clan. Lord Remy was a tall man, he had long black hair that was pulled back in a low ponytail and black eyes.
Kera then bowed again, "It's nice to meet all of you. I'm Kera."
"Humph," Enzo, "Until there is sheer proof, I won't believe this girl is the wind warrior." he walked out of the room.
"lord Enzo gets back here, "yelled Remy, "We are still in the middle of council!"
"I'm sorry my dear," said Hissana as she stood up, "He's having difficulty believing it truly you."
"What do you mean, " asked Kera.
"Wait, you haven't been told," exclaimed Hissana.
"No, she hasn't," said a voice behind them," I didn't have time." it was Ren.
"Captain Ren, " Baxon stated, "You shouldn't be up."
"Don't worry, lord Baxon," answered Ren, "I'm alright now. besides, it should be me who tells her."
"Ren, " exclaimed Kera as she ran over to him and hugged him, "Are you sure you're okay?"
"I'm better now that I'm finally with you again," Ren said as he smiled. he returned the hug. Ren released her from the hug and started to speak. "Well, where do I start? the stary I want to tell you, you might not believe but, it is the truth."
"Okay," stated Kera, "I guess I better sit down." Kera and Ren sat at the table.
lady Hissana walked over to the wall of books. she took one off the shelf and placed it on the table. "This might help explaining it better," said Hissana. Kera looked at the book it was an old leather-bound book. She couldn't read the title. It was in a strange language she had never seen before yet, it looked familiar. Ren opened the book.
"In the beginning," Ren stated," The four clans lived together in a world filled with prejudge. No one trusted each other outside their own clan. Tensions were high, but one wanted war. One day, a mysterious army attacked the fire clan. Next, the unknown enemy attacked the wind clan. Then they attacked the water and lastly the earth clan. To find out who was behind the attacks, the leaders of the four clans held a meeting for the first time."
"It was at that meeting that we met a true enemy and found our salvation," stated Baxon, "Four young girls; one of each clan stood up and worked together to protect the clan leaders."
"Okay," said Kera, "Who was the enemy?"
"Someone we all trusted," Baxon continued," our own queen. That night, she used her wicked powers to kill the king; may he rest in peace. our beloved princess disappeared without a trace. From then on, she was known as the Witch Queen. the four young girls who fought that night became known as the dragon warriors."
"Sounds like you have all been through a lot," answered Kera," But what does that have to do with me?"
"During the final battle," Ren continued, "In order to defeat the queen, the dragon warriors used all their power to end her. The battle cost them their lives."
"They died," gasped Kera.
"Yes," responded Baxon, "We all lost someone dear to us. the fire warrior was my niece."
"My beloved was the water warrior," stated Remy sadly.
"My younger sister was the earth warrior," said Hissna.
"The wind warrior was lord Enzo's older sister," said Ren, "she was also the love of my life."
"I"m so sorry," answered Kera.
" I was not able to protect them," explained Ren, "but I was able to save them in another way. Kera, I always believed that we would meet again. I'm so sorry it took me so long to find you." Ren knelt down on one knee beside Kera's chair and took her hand. he gently kissed it, "You are the reincarnation of the wind warrior."
" I know how unbelievable that story sounds, but it does explain a few things," answered Kera, "For the past few months I have been having dreams. They were always about a boy with hair as red a fire. Yet, he always had gentle eyes and s goofy grin. he always made me feel safe. I always had the urge of wanting to meet him in real life. I always had a feeling that he was wanting to meet me. now, here you are right in front of me." Kera pushed her chair from the table and let herself fall into Ren's arms. "I fell in love I with that boy from my dreams. now I know I was born loving you."
"Ahem," said lord Baxon, " I'm sorry to interrupt your lovey-dovey moment but, we still have three more dragon warriors to find."
Ren and Kera stood up. "Actually, I already found them," answered Ren.
