I've been traveling my forest all day searching for the source of this pull in my core. I've asked the other creatures if they've felt it. It seems to be only me affected. It's dark now, and I am still walking in the rain. The pull is much stronger now. Its led me to a little structure by the river. I don't think I've been here before. Its still my forest but I haven't been needed here in a while. I can feel a pulse in the air and I watch as a naked woman with long hair stumbles out into the rain. Is she in trouble? I see three crows, a fox and a grey wolf follow her. But they feel worried about her, protective even. Strange. Not many animals feel that way about humans out here. She looks up towards me grabbing her stomach her hair hanging in her face. Does she feel it too? Suddenly I feel the air shift. It's almost hard to breathe there's so much power radiating off this small woman. A wind pushes past me blowing her hair away from her face. My world stops and starts again with her at the center as my gaze locks on her big brown doe eyes. "Not human" I hear her soft voice before I feel the power in the air stutter and see her fall. I go to catch her but I don't make it to her in time. Her animals surround her as I run up to check on her. They block my way. I'm glad she has such loyal animals. I let out some of my power to let them know I'm here to help not hurt. They let me go to her and pick her up, but they stay close. Her body is small and soft. She is thin but strong. The kind of strong that comes from a life that isn't easy. Her womanly curves hold me hostage. I won't be able to leave her if I tried. I take her back to her cabin. It smells like food and her, like woman and earth. Its warm and dry in here, safe for her. Good. I lay her on the wooden bed and cover her up and put some wood in her fire to keep her warm as she dries from the rain. I sit next to her and watch as her animals cuddle around her in the bed. I can't help but feel a twinge of envy. But I know she would need comfort, and she doesn't know me. Hell, she threw up a barrier to protect herself and her animals from me so strong she passed out. It's better if I stay over here and when she wakes up we can talk. "Do you know him? I've never seen anyone like him" says a sweet quiet voice. "You guys have been holding out on me." I open my eyes to see the woman bent over a pot in the fire her worn dress is hugging her delicious body in the morning light. She stands up with one of her crows on her shoulder feeding him a bit of meat with a smile. I wish I could have that smile directed at me. A crow cries from beside me, and she turns to look at me and her smile falls and her eyes widen. She fumbles with the bowl in her hand. "Um... hi, are you hungry? I have rabbit stew." She offers quietly. She looks about as shocked as I feel. I thought for sure I had been dreaming about her wild beauty. I am glad I wasn't. "I would love some if you have some to spare" I say gently getting to my feet I have to stoop so my horns don't hit the ceiling. I am tall on my own but add horns and I'm monstrous. I take a step to her expecting her to retreat, but I am pleasantly surprised to see her step to me and look up into my eyes before handing me a bowl and a spoon. "There's plenty." She says with a smile. "Thank you." I take a bite as she dishes out some for herself as another crow sweeps in with a caw. She laughs a musical sound and gives him and the crow beside me a bit of meat as well. Then she sits next to me and begins eating silently. "It's good. Thank you." I offer. "Your welcome. Thank you for bringing me inside last night. I'm still not completely sure what happened but now the animals can talk. So something big I'm assuming." She says as she eats. "I'm not quite sure either. But you seem to be very powerful." She looks confused by that. "I just mean not every witch can throw up a shield like you did." "Witch?" Her eyes are wide again.
