Edgar’s heavy footsteps echoed through the hallway as he returned from work. He opened the door and froze. Mila was gently lifting Angela’s unconscious body, her hands under Angela’s shoulders, carefully guiding her toward the bedroom. Her face was full of concentration, but her eyes showed something darker—a strange, unsettling calm. “Mila!” Edgar called, rushing to her side. “What happened?” Mila didn’t look up. She continued to move slowly, like she was carrying something precious. “She’s sleeping,” Mila said softly, her voice distant. “She was tired. Very tired.” Edgar stepped forward, his hand gripping her arm lightly. “Mila, she’s not just tired. She passed out.
