They drove until they got to the beach.
"Were here." Liam announced as they were getting off the bike.
"So we are going to the beach?" Karyssa questioned.
"Um.. well kinda." Liam shrugged. He grabbed her hand and they headed down the beach.
As they walked down the beach Karyssa saw a picnic blanket laid out with a basket to the side.
"How... When?" Karyssas words stumbled out. "You have been with me most of the morning."
"Ah. Yes. I have however, I've had my phone on me and am able to text easily. I had Cansy and Girdy set it up for me they are up the beach a little more. There going to clean up and take it home for me. I figured since our date had to be postponed and we can't do anything until Monday when the insurance feller comes out and tells us what all we have to do in order to get back up and running, I had free time to plan a date." He smiled as they reached to spot. They sat down on the red and white checker blanket and Liam opened the picnic basket. He handed Karyssa a sandwich that Gridy had packed along with some chips and fruit for dessert. They sat on the blanket and stared out onto the lake.
They finished eating and they adjusted to where they were sitting right next to each other, their legs were pressed to each other.
"I wish I could live near a large body of water, it's so peaceful." Karyssa sighed, she leaned and placed her head on Liams shoulder. "I figured you would have a bunch of fires to put out... on my god I didn't mean to say that." Karyssa gasped. Liam looked at her for a second and bust out in laughter.
"Shew." Liam said after he calmed down from laughing. " I needed that. No, I spent the morning messaging everyone, scheduling who would be helping Cat with meals, only breakfast and dinners, lunch meat sandwiches for lunches, I sent Girdy and Candy with the emergency funds to buy whatever food Cat needed for whatever she planned for a menu, there was a few issues with sleeping arrangements I had to fix, I scheduled an appointment with the insurance company and fire department tomorrow to figure out what's going on with the property. I am spend today relaxing that way when I get the news I can spend Monday and Tuesday getting a game plan that way Wednesday we can take the boys on the trip." Karyssa just sat there soaking up Liams voice, while he explained.
"Well can we just sit here in silence for a few minutes. It's been a stressful weekend." Karyssa looked up at him shyly.
"Anything you want Siren." Liam said.
They sat there in silence for the few minutes Karyssa wanted, until she spoke up.
"You know alot about me, will you tell me some more about you?" Karyssa asked.
"Not much to tell, raised by my mom and my uncle, my Dad left when I was 15, whe I was finally old enough to swing back and protect my mom and sister. Life wasn't easy but I got through it. Last year there was a bad car crash and unfortunately my sister and her husband passed, leaving me to take care of Zack. He's a great kid. My mom tried to take care of Zack for awhile but she hasn't been the same since Ally died. That's my sister's name." He trailed off deep in thought.
"So what got you into motorcycles?" Karyssa asked.
"Ah," looking as though a spark just ignited in his eyes. " My Uncle and a few of his friends started a biker club shortly before my dad left, called the Shady Gila (hela) MC. We aren't 1%s before you ask, we are just bike enthusiasts who happen to have a club, but when my dad left I needed somewhere to put my anger and my uncle took me under his wing and helped me direct my anger in a positive manner, he opened a car shop and I worked there 3 days a week. When he decided he wanted to retire he handed everything to me. I've always loved bikes the first time I got on one by myself I knew then and there that I always wanted to be doing something with them, they are my first love."
"Soeaking of love, how are you single?" Karyssa asked.
"Welp, when I first took over I was 25 happily married expecting a little one." Liam got quite for a second but continued, "I was working alot of the time, trying to take the club and shop into a different direction that was going to be more profitable for everyone, my best friend at the time Rex would go in and check on Grace for me when I was out of town or working late, one thing led to the other and I found out she was cheating on me with my best friend. We tried couples counciling and everything and we're trying to get passed it until she went to give birth. She delivered the baby and I walked out, I knew the second I saw the baby he wasn't mine. I went to the house we were living in, packed up my belongings and went to the club house, what couldn't be there I took to my mom's, had her served with divorce papers the following Monday, kicked Rex out of the club the same day. Haven't talked to either of them since." Liam huffed at the last sentence.
"If you don't mind me asking why or how did you know the baby wasn't yours?"
Liam dryly chuckled to himself. "Because I'm not black."
"OH," karyssa was shocked for a second. " oh! I assume Rex was and..."
"That's how I knew it was him and kicked him out?" Liam finished her question. "Yeah, I gave him one chance to answer me honestly and he told me that they were hooking up for almost a full year before I caught them, Grace told me it had only been a few months."
"I'm sorry you have went through all that." Karyssa placed her hand on Liams thigh. " I could never cheat on someone." She stated. "Especially having it happen to me."
"It hasn't all been bad, I realized I have better people in my life, like Blues and Rocky. We all grew up together, they were there for me after it all happen, helped keep me safe during benders and helped me work through things when I wasn't in the right mind." He smiled talking about them. "I've worked hard to make sure the family I built was worth being in my life."
They talked for a few more hours until the sun was setting and they saw Girdy coming back up the beach, she waved but kept her distance.
"Why is she staying over there?" Karyssa asked.
"Because she knows we are on a date and wants to give us our privacy." Liam stated while helping Karyssa up onto her feet.
He kept ahold of one hand as they made their way back to the bike to head home.
