HEART BROKEN - PART IX

"Wake up gorgeous." The sweet voice whispered in my ear as his lips peppered my cheeks with soft kisses. I woke up with a bright smile on my face and a strong arm, wrapped around my torso. Over the year, since I met and known Axel Nightingale, never in my wildest dreams did I imagine we'll be here. In this position. For the past few days, it has been the happiest I've been since I can remember. Removing his arm from around me, I sneaked out of bed. Looking back at him, I couldn't help the smile that rose on my face and the butterflies in my stomach. Not wanting to wake him, I tiptoed out of the room and into the kitchen to brew some coffee. Oh, how I've missed my morning mochaccino but being here with him, I wouldn't change it for the world. Once the pot was finished, I poured myself a cup and walked out onto the balcony. Leaning against the railing, the morning breeze blew, blowing my hair every which way. It was a beautiful morning and an amazing feeling. Having the wind in my hair, feels like my head is being massaged by soft and tender hands. I loved it. I sipped on my coffee, while looking back to make sure Axel was still asleep. After last night, he needed some sleep, that was for sure. Unfortunately, my moment of silence and peace was short lived. The door to the bedroom opened and Axel walked out in a pair of slacks. He raked his hands through his hair trying to not have them sticking out like he was picking up a connection. I looked back at him as our eyes met and I had to blush. The sight of him made me weak. Now that we have been spending so much time together, I'm afraid of the feeling in the pit of my stomach. He walked out of the balcony and took my cup, taking a whiff and a big gulp. "I know I smelt something heavenly." I pulled the cup away from him, making him pout, "get your own Mr." "Greedy." He mumbled out and disappeared back into the kitchen to pour himself a cup. As we sat on the balcony and enjoy the morning breeze, I laid my head on his chest, listening the rumbling of his beating heart as he breathe in and out. It was music to my ears. "Do we have any meetings for today?" I asked as I played with the loose curls of my hair, twisting it around my fingers. He thought for a while and shook his head, "Nope. But I do have plans for tonight." I replied a simple okay. "I would like for you to go in town and pick up a gown. Something formal." "May I ask what for?" I packed enough clothes in case we had meetings for the whole week but now he is asking me to purchase a new gown. What for, I wonder? And I know he wouldn't tell me even if I begged. "Just get something formal. There is a boutique not to far from the hotel, just tell the manager I sent you." Without saying anything else, I nodded. The time on my phone, said 2:30 pm. I was supposed to be ready at 7:30 pm, so I was getting dressed to go and get my gown for tonight. The driver pulled up at the boutique and notified me he will be back at 4 pm to drop me back at the hotel. I said thanks and walked into the boutique, unaware of what's to come. "Hello and welcome to Elegance, my name is Stacy. How may I assist you today?" She scowled as she looked over my choice of attire. "My name is Nora Storm and I'm here on behalf of Mr. Nightingale." Axel's name changed her whole demeanor. She straightened her back an was now more willing to be of assistance. "Just a minute please, let me get Mrs. McDowall." She walked to a back room and minutes later a much older woman walked out with her glasses on the bridge of her nose. "Hello dear, I'm Mrs. McDowall, Mr. Nightingale had called ahead and tell me to get you what ever you wanted. He had already taken care of the bill." We walked to the aisle where the gowns hung. In the boutique, there were various mannequins standing in the store showcasing various gowns and jewelry. They were all exquisite and very pricey. My eyes landed on a crimson red, floor length dress with a deep V line. There was a long split at one side, reaching at the thigh, which would show a lot of skin. Next to it, was a white body con dress with a floral design at the back and a lace bodice. They were all so elegantly designed, which makes it hard to choose from. Finally choosing my gown, I went to the section that showcased heels and jewelry. I chose a pair of silver and gold heels and a necklace and earring set to go with it. I turned to my left and saw a bright red clutch and I thought it would go beautifully with the gown I chose. I headed to the register and Stacy cashed for the items. "How much is it?" She handed me the bag with a small smile, "It's already been taken care of." I said a small thanks and walked out of the boutique. Checking my watch, I had fifteen minutes to spare, so, I decided on grabbing a small bite to eat before I head back to the hotel. I walked into a small café and placed an order for a blueberry smoothie. In a corner of the café, I placed my bags on the next vacant seat and sipped on my smoothie, while I waited for the driver. I was now standing in the hall way outside of our hotel room. Swiping the keycard, I entered the room and placed the bags on the chair. The room was empty, except for a note along with a rose on the dining table. Did I mention the room was like an apartment on its own? Well yeah, so it had everything. From a kitchen to a dining area, a massive sitting room not forgetting the balcony, I love so much. I picked up the rose smelling the decadent fragrance and read the note. "Ms. Storm, This is for you. Hope you found something that will steal my breath away, even though you look beautiful in anything you wear, especially my dress shirt. At exactly 7 pm, the driver will pick you up from the hotel and bring you to me. Don't worry about anything at all. Until then, head to the spa and have a relaxing massage, on me. See you soon gorgeous. A. Nightingale, I returned the note and rose to the table and headed to the bedroom with the bags in hand. Placing them on the bed, I removed my clothes and walked to the bathroom to take a quick shower. 'A massage sure does sound good right now.' After my shower, I threw on a knee length sun dress and picked up my phone and walked out of the room and down to the spa. There were ladies, lounging around the spa, either getting a Mani/Pedi or just sipping on a drink. Just the ambience of the spa, makes you feel relaxed. I walked up to the receptionist, "Hi my name is Nora Storm." She looked up from her computer with a perky smile. "Welcome to Bamboo Spa Ms. Storm. We have a full body massage, along with a Mani/Pedi, booked for you by Mr. Nightingale." She said as she placed a phone to her ear. "Yes please, Ms. Storm is here." She waited for a respond. "Yes, full body massage and Mani/Pedi." She paused again. "Okay, I'll send her right in." "Okay Ms. Storm take the walk way at my left and walk straight down, then take a right and enter the door on your right." I thanked her and walked away following her directions.
