CHAPTER ONE: MEETING HIS MATE AND HER FIANCEE
A black shiny Rolls Royce sped through Fritz Breeze Highway, its tires screeching before coming to a halt.
The vehicle had almost hit a lady while she was crossing. So agitated she was that she began screaming, immediately gaining the attention of passers-by. Mister Johnson, the driver, exited the vehicle and walked toward her, pleading.
He promised to compensate her any amount she wanted, but she wouldn't heed. "Would you be able to compensate me even after death? Will I be able to spend the money even when I die?" she shot back.
She seethed angrily, as if vapor would exit from her nose.
"I'm sorry, ma'am," Mister Johnson pleaded. "It was just a terrible mistake that I never wished would happen. But I promise to compensate you any amount, as long as there's no harm. I can even take you for a check-up right now."
"Check up? Check up? Are you out of your senses? What if something had happened to me? I don't care what you are going to say right now, but you must apologize to me right now."
Then the black shiny Rolls Royce door opens, revealing a very handsome young man.
"Johnson, what's the problem?" he asks.
"Boss, I've been trying to appease this woman but she wouldn't budge, sir. What should we do now?"
"So you're his boss?" Dandelion asks angrily.
"Gosh, it's the CEO of FX Group! Wow, I'm going to die happy."
"He's one of the youngest CEOs in Abbott Vale! Wow, this is amazing. I didn't even think I'm going to see Mister Reynard, but I'm really glad I did. I mean, it's so hard to meet Mister Reynard real-time. Just past the Fritz Breeze Highway and this... Wow." She seems speechless. "But I'm falling in love right now," one of the girly onlookers squeals, gaining disdain from an old woman.
"What do you young girls know about love?" she sneers.
"Miss, I apologize on behalf of my driver. And if there is any way you want the FX Company to compensate you, please make a request, because I don't have much time right now...." He stops for a moment as a scent hits him hard. _What is that I smell?_ he thinks as his eyes meet Dandelion's, getting lost in them.
"What, are you gonna beat me? Wait, you trying to raise your voice at me? I don't get you. What are you trying to do?" Dandelion snaps, mistaking his frozen stare for aggression.
"No, no, miss, I don't mean that," he starts off slowly. "I'm just trying to..."
"What's going on here?" A young, brown, curly-haired man walked up toward the crowd as he hugged Dandelion from behind, creating innocent enmity between him and Reynard, who wants to pounce on him.
"Nothing, my darling," Dandelion replies as she pecks the man on his cheek, gaining much more anger from Reynard as he feels like walking up to them and shredding the young brown-haired man into pieces.
"It's just this man," she points hatefully at Reynard in an angry way. "He almost hit me with his car and he's trying to tell me that he wants to compensate me. What if I had died?"
"Yes, baby, you are right," the brown-haired man who is Dandelion's fiancé tries to cajole her.
"Ma'am, this is not my boss' fault. If you need someone to get out, please just come at me. But right now my boss has an urgent meeting he needs to attend and this is a billion-dollar meeting," Johnson begins, but Reynard interrupts.
"Hold it, Johnson. Miss," he continues, "please, if you have any request just come down to FX Group."
"What do you mean like that?" Dandelion's fiancé interrupts. "Wait, so if you had hit my wife— I mean, my fiancé— is this what you are gonna tell me? That you are going to compensate her? What if she had lost her life? What if— wait, are you going to bring her back to me or are you going to give her back her life?" Dandelion's fiancé fires back.
"But sir, we didn't do anything. Just— just a pure mistake. Just a coincidence."
"A coincidence?" Dandelion's fiancé shouts back.
"No, I mean it's— it's not just a coincidence. I'm sorry, it's not a coincidence. I mean it was just purely a mistake that shouldn't happen. And I am here right now to give you a cheque of two million dollars as a compensation."
"Yes, just accept the money," a young man said as he looks at the two couples in disdain. "Are they even going to drag all these stuff to the court? At least the man has compensated you. What are you carrying shoulders up for?" He walks off in an angry mood.
But Dandelion looks up with her pride roaring in her chest. "Take your filthy money and get out. Do I look like I need money to you? Do you think you can buy everything with money?" She glares and she looks at him before taking her fiancé's hands and leaving.
Reynard watched them with anger blazing in his eyes as he kept quiet before entering his Rolls Royce while Johnson joins him. "Johnson," he starts.
"Yes, boss," Johnson replies.
"I want every information about that woman. And the man— I want him gone tonight."
"Yes, boss." Mister Johnson quickly starts the car while heading for the venue they were supposed to be at.
