Deborah’s POV
We are getting ready for the club tonight to celebrate. I told my family back in Nigeria about the news and they were ecstatic. Today has just been a really great day and it won’t be a bad idea to celebrate it. God has really been faithful and he has further taught me that whatever you put your mind to with hardwork and prayers, you can achieve. As much as I will rather be home celebrating, I can’t deny my friends the pleasure of celebrating it the best way they can.
“Oooh, I look amazing “ Stella gushed at herself in the mirror as she added another layer to her lips.
Stella and I look the opposite of each other and no one can ever guess that two people with nothing in common can be best friends. I look like a model dressed in a black sexy body con dress with a pink leather jacket to tone down the sexiness. Stella on the other hand was dressed like one of the bratz doll with the whole emo vibe going on. Her sexiness was on another level and I can’t blame her, she likes what she likes.
Suddenly my phone started ringing. It was Jennie.
“I am downstairs “ She said
“Ok, we are coming “ I said before ending the call
“Come on Stella, let’s go” i said as I walked towards the door but not before checking myself in the mirror first.
We took the Elevator to the parking space of the apartment complex. Jennie’s white lambo truck was standing there in all it’s glory. It was hard to miss among the many cars. We walked towards the car and I took the front seat while Stella sat at the back.
“Hey girls, you guys look amazing “ She said
“You look amazing too Jennie “ I said and I wasn’t kidding.
She looked more than amazing, she looked expensive. Everything on her reeked money.
“Where is Josh?” Stella asked
“He went with Lexi” Jennie answered.
Lexi is Josh’s long distance girlfriend.
“Oh she’s back?” I asked
“She surprised him this evening “ She replied and I nodded.
They are the sweetest couple ever.
We finally got to the club and Jennie parked the car at the VIP section. There was a long line in front at the entrance consisting of people that are most definitely not going to be allowed in. I remember the first time Stella and I came to this club. After waiting in line for more than two hours, we were not allowed in. Thankfully one of the bodyguards was Stella’s childhood friend’s brother and he recognized her. He snuck us in saying that it could cost his job if anyone found out.
We followed behind Jennie as she strutted majestically towards the entrance. The bodyguards immediately cleared the way and allowed us in. It feels good to be wealthy.
Immediately we entered the club, the loud music repelled me. I do not like this.
“Is that not Josh?” Stella asked amused while pointing towards the Dj.
It really was Josh and he has taken over the music. Lexi was beside him, dancing her heart out. He sighted us and took the microphone.
“Give it up for the hottest girls tonight!!!” He screamed into the microphone while pointing at us.
Jennie and Stella matched his energy by screaming excitedly. The crowd joined them and cheered while staring at us. Uh oh, people are looking at us. I don’t like this, I don’t like this at all. I wish i had stayed home, eaten Ramen and watched Netflix. It is better than this.
Jennie and Stella dragged me along with them to the front . They started dancing excitedly while screaming along with the song. I just stood there, in between people’s sweaty bodies. Jennie left and came back with three shots of tequila. She passed one to me and I gulped it down. I should not be drinking this because my alcohol tolerance is very low. As low as getting drunk from a sip of alcohol.
I started feeling the heat in my body, Rema ‘s calm down came on and suddenly I wanted to dance. I started moving my body and before I knew it, I was dancing happily without a care in the world.
SEBASTIAN’S POV
‘Am I coming tonight?’
‘No’
I replied Naya’s text before stepping out of my car. I passed through the VIP door up to our private lounge.
“Dude!! You are finally here” James said as I entered the lounge.
He had dozens of empty shot cups on the table in front of him. Eric on the other hand had two girls on both sides.
I signaled to the Bartender and he nodded with understanding. I walked up to them and sat beside James.
“What took you so long?” Eric asked
“Work “ I replied.
The waiter came to the table with a bottle of Hennessy, a bucket of ice and cups. He was about to pour it into the glass but I stopped him. He dropped everything before leaving the table. I prefer pouring it myself.
“Holy crap, is that Jennie?” Eric asked amused while staring out of the window.
The lounge is upstairs of the club and it was built in a way that you can see everything that happens downstairs but no one can see from the outside.
I followed his line of sight and it really was Jennie.
Why is she dressed like that? I know she is an adult now but that doesn’t mean she is allowed to go out dressed like that. What is she thinking?
“Dang man, she looks…” James started to say
“Hot, I know” Eric completed and I gave him the nastiest look ever.
“Look elsewhere man, if you don’t want me to pluck your eyes out” I threatened as I poured myself another glass and downed it at once.
Eric raised his hands to show that he surrendered
“But hold up man, is she still dating Mr high school sweetheart?” Eric asked mockingly
“No “ I replied “but I don’t see how that is any of your business” I stated angrily
“So she is single?” He asked again and I badly wanted to throw a glass at him.
“Sorry man, just asking” I rolled my eyes at him before focusing my attention back on Jennie.
She was talking to two girls. One looks like she came out of a emo cartoon series, that is too much makeup. The other looked pretty decent. I stared at her face and it was almost bare except for the basics. She had a sour look on her face, like she doesn’t want to be here? Pffftt..who forced her?
I watched Jennie and the emo girl pull her along with them. She didn’t look like she was in the mood to dance. The more I look at her, the more she annoys me. She acts like she is better than everyone here when i am sure she is not. I mean, why come to the club if you are not going to do what everyone else does?
Why do I even care?
I looked away and poured myself the fifth glass. I chugged it at a go and I enjoyed the hotness I felt at the back of my throat.
I looked back at her and she was dancing? With an empty shot cup in her hand. Jennie and the emo girl also had one. Of course, she wasn’t different, just another hypocrite.
I watched her dance her heart out before whispering something to Jennie and walking ….more like staggering towards the bar. She sat down on a chair looking out of breath. She said something to the Bartender and he shook up a cocktail and passed it to her. A ken doll looking guy walked up to her and soon they were chatting and flirting.
I started to feel a surge of anger build up inside and I could not tell why. All I just know is that I am annoyed by what I am seeing. The anger in me intensified when I felt a hand touch my shoulders. I immediately held that hand so tightly that it could break. I stared at the measly looking stripper in front of me. Her expression went from flirty to fear.
“Are you new here?” I asked angrily
“Ye..yes s..sir” her voice shook
“You shouldn’t have touched me” I said and swung her filthy hands away.
She staggered back before falling to the ground.
“You are fired, I don’t want to meet you here when I come back” I said with a ice cold voice before walking out of the lounge.
I heard Eric and James calling me but I didn’t reply.
I left the lounge and went to the rooftop. I walked close to the edge and removed my jacket. I was sweating profusely from just a touch and the part of my shoulder where she touched me started itching. I dipped my hand into my pocket and brought out my allergy pill before popping one into my mouth. Soon, I was calm. I sighed as I stared at the whole city.
Why do I have this reaction to people’s touch? I don’t know.
It started when I was five and I have not been the same ever since. The doctor said that it’s nothing physical and that it was all just in my head. He said with time, I will get over it and it has been Twenty one years now.
After standing there for more than thirty minutes, I decided to leave but suddenly the door to the rooftop bursted open. In came the girl from earlier. What is she doing here? She staggered towards me with panic written all over her face.
“Ple…please h…h…help, he is trying to touch me” She said as tears fell from her eyes.
She staggered towards me and was about to touch me. I held her hand before she could but she didn’t stop there. She ran behind me, like she was trying to hide and hugged me from behind as if her life depended on it.
I wanted to push her off immediately but I didn’t, I didn’t feel anything. No sweats, no itching….nothing but the strange desire to hold on to her.
Her touch doesn’t repel me.
