Chapter 10 IN THE PAST I HAVE met with a fair share of unique and interesting individuals. Some have struggled with addictions, battled with depression or have endured a host of mental incapacities. Many have committed crimes from petty theft to federal embezzlement. I’ve spoken with people traumatized by an embattled childhood, a brush with death, engaged in war both abroad and on our city streets. I have even interviewed a garbage man who believes he was abducted by aliens on his morning route. In each instance, things were always clear.
