Longest week ever

I hear an annoying beeping noise and think it’s my alarm why is it so damn loud and why do I have this pounding headache? Then I remember. Melody, we fought over Ryder,is he okay? What happened? After I killed melody I don’t remember anything.

I hear that annoying beep again and I try to open my eyes and sit up but nothing happens. Why can’t I get up? I keep trying and with a great amount of effort I manage to open my eyes. All around me is blinding white light. I look down and see I’m in some sort of hospital gown and the beeping was the stupid machine I’m connected to. I look In the chair next to me and see Ryder passed out snoring lightly with his legs thrown over the side and his mouth hanging open. I smile at the sight.

Just then the doctor comes in and he looks over at me and smiles “Luna you're finally awake.” Ryder immediately shoots up upon hearing this. I try to talk but nothing comes out. What’s going on? The doctor realizes my struggle and smiles apologetically. “Luna when you were fighting and melody bit your neck she damaged your vocal cords,I’m sorry but there’s nothing I could do to repair them.”

What? I’ll never be able to speak again… that’s when it hits me I’ll never be able to say I do when I get married, I’ll never get to tell Ryder I love him, I will never sing my kids to sleep or tell them stories. I feel tears form in my eyes and Ryder shoots up worried “are you okay love does it hurt?” I know he’s talking about my throat but I nod anyways.

“We can get her some painkillers” the doctor says which I’m thankful for because my head and body are killing me. I nod and he leaves “Sofie I’m so sorry if I had stopped it before this wouldn’t have happened.” I shake my head. This isn’t his fault it’s mine.

The doctor comes back shortly and gives Ryder the bottle and hands me two and a bottle of water. I take them and instantly feel relaxed. “Now I’ll go and get your discharge papers Luna but I must insist that you take it easy for awhile maybe a week or so.” Ryder gives me a firm look when I shake my head in protest and I reluctantly nod.

This is gunna be a long week… and I was right the next week all I can do is sit in bed bathe and watch tv. Ryder never leaves my side and if he does his beta, my guard and new best friend mason sits with me. They both make sure I’m eating and doing good as well as taking my medicine that helps with the headaches I’ve been getting.

Right now Ryder has a meeting that all alphas must attend and most Luna’s go with their mates but since I’m injured Ryder didn’t want to take me. So here I am on my bed watching switched at birth and eating ice cream with mason. “He totally has it out for daphne” he said during the third episode on season one when Daphne is talking about her new bf. I just shake my head there’s no way he will end up with her.

Later I find out I’m right when a couple episodes later him and bay get together. Mason is in shock but I just have a smug smirk on my face. I knew they were made for each other. I grab my notebook and turn to mason this is how I communicate now since I can’t talk. I wrote told you so and show him he just glares and I laugh or the closest thing I can get to it.

Ryder walks in and sees me doubled over laughing while mason has a frown on his face. He asks what’s funny and I explain how mason is just upset cause I was right about emmet and bay and he wasn’t. He just shakes his head at us and walks over kissing me on the forehead before turning to mason. “Thank you for watching her while I was gone you can go now.” “Anytime alpha I’m glad to spend time with my best friend. Later soapy sofie” I roll my eyes at the terrible nickname and wave before he heads out. Ryder crawls into bed with me "so you and Mason had fun today then" I nod yawning but stay up and write down everything we did today and before I know it it's midnight. Ryder's eyes get wide at the realization "I'm glad I had fun baby but we really should go to sleep it's very late. I nod in agreement and before I know it we drift off together.
