(Gabriella POV)
Cassie hade shown me every air vent, every return shaft, every entry and every exit inside the large room, though it wasn't many. It had been two days and everyday I feared the viscous Count Lucifer I had heard so much about would make his appearance. I knew Greyson, The Alpha, my parents, and even the coven where searching for me. I just had to keep Cassie and I alive until they got here.
Cassie showed me the routine of every person who worked near the cells. The guard, the nurse, even the woman who brought our meals to us threw times a day. Over the last two days I made notes of all of their habits especially the guard who sat at his desk outside our door during the day shift. Cassie explained that Count Lucifer always came for her in the middle of the night meaning that most likely he was sleeping during the day. My powers, my mind-link, even my wolf had been cut off since I had woken here so that led me to believe that they had a spell over the place preventing any supernatural from us g any kind of gift or power. I would have to get us out the old fashioned way and once we reach the outside I would be able to shift and run until we were clear of this place carrying cassie on my back.
The day shift guard arrived at approximately six in the morning. Sunrise was around 7 am. At 8 he would leave his desk to go refill his thermos of coffee. At nine he would leave to go to the bathroom after drinking several cups from that thermos. At ten he left to have breakfast with the nurse that he fancied taking two people who were to work with us away from our cell. This is when we would get out. My plan was to guide Cassie to the air shaft and lead us outside. The only problem is I knew nothing about the layout of this building so I would be relying on nothing but my senses.
I sat on the bed combing Cassie's long beautiful hair. It had taken me almost a whole day to remove all the knots from it. Everyday I made her draw from her memory a day that made her happy. She would tell me about her day and I would tell her about mine. Last night we had been to bed early but this morning Cassie acted as if she was weak and tired. "Cassie honey are you okay?" I asked turning her to face me. "Her eyes looked bruised beneath them like she hadn't slept in days. "He came last night. He made us forget Gabby but I know he was here. I can feel tye difference in my body. He fed from me." she whispered. Anger flooded through my body. How dare he touch her. She is a child. We would have to put off our escape for a day or two. Cassie wouldn't be able to travel in this shape.
I got up from the bed and marched over to the guard at the desk who was sipping his coffee. "So do you like working for a man who touches little girls." I sneered at him. His eyes grew wide. It was the first time I had talked to any of them since coming here. "Shut up and get back to your bunk." he scoffed. "Your a sorry excuse for a man and when my mate gets here I will see that he rios your head from ypur trucking shoulders while Cassie watches." I laugh at him like a deranged psycho but my point is to intentionally scare him. When humans are scared they make mistakes. "No one is getting in here. This place is a fortress." he chuckled but his eyes still glistened with a hint of fear. "My mate isn't just anyone. He is a 6 foot 7 inch two hundred and fifty pound pure muscled man who shifts to a wolf with a mouth full of razor sharp teeth and moves at the speed of light." I described. His eyes grew wide. "Bot to mention the others who will come with him. Did I mention we had a High Priestess and Priest. Oh they're going to have so much fun with you. They're going to make you relive your worst fear over and over again. Then they're going to draw from ypur memory your address as well as that hot little nurses that you fancy. Do you have children sir. Because witches love the taste of children. Ever heard of ha del and gretel. I whispered to him as if I was telling a scary ghost story. I watched as his hands trembled. "Of course should you and ypur nurse friend help me and this little girl leave sooner than anticipated I could have them spare you and ypur girlfriend. We will even protect you from any harm that would come your way by those who work here." He looked at me out of the corner of his eyes weighing his options in his mind. "You'll leave pur children and her out of this." he asked. "We will spare you all." I assured him. "But those who work against me or this child will be punished." I added. "Okay. Let me talk to Sarah. She and I will get you two out." he stammered. "Thank you Harold." he looked at me his eyes huge because I had called him by his name. Little did the poor man know I had heard the nurse use it on several occasions. I wanted to laugh but I kept my face stern and serious while returning to Cassie. "Were getting out of here Cassie. Soon. " I whispered in her ear.
