(Gabriellas POV) Later that Night “Come Cassie let me tuck you into bed. You need to rest for tomorrow.” I waved her over to the bottom bunk where I had the covers pulled back. Cassie came over and climbed into bed. She laid her head down on the pillow and looked up at me. “Will you sing to me Gabby? My daddy and mama always told me a story or sung me to sleep.” She whispered looking up at me giving me her best puppy dog eyes. I smiled at her. In the short time I had been here with Cassie stuck in this awful place I hade grew attached to her and loved her as my own. I was happy we where finally getting out by it would break my heart to take her home. “Okay close your eyes and I will sing to you.” I told her stroking her long wavy hair. I sat and thought until I could remember a song that would fit perfect for our predicament that would give get courage to do what we had to do tomorrow. Then as quietly as possible I began to sing… This is a story that I have never told I got to get this off my chest to let it go I need to take back the light inside you stole All the pain and the truth I wear like a battle wound So ashamed, so confused I was broken and bruised Now I'm a warrior Now I've got thicker skin I'm a warrior I'm stronger than I've ever been And my armor, is made of steel, you can't get in I'm a warrior And you can never hurt me again Out of the ashes, I'm burning like a fire I've got shame, I've got scars But I will never show I'm a survivor In more ways than you know 'Cause all the pain and the truth I wear like a battle wound So ashamed, so confused I'm not broken or bruised There's a part of me I can't get back A little girl grew up too fast Now I'm taking back my life today Nothing left that you can say 'Cause you are never gonna take the blame anyway I'm a warrior I've got thicker skin I'm a warrior I'm stronger than I've ever been And my armor, is made of steel, you can't get in I'm a warrior And you can never hurt me again Cassie fell asleep with a smile on her face and squeezing my hand. I gently removed it and placed it with the teddy bear she used for comfort. I felt something hard inside the bear that caught my attention. I opened the Velcro on its back and felt I side. Cotton fluffy material scratched my fingers until I felt a hard like capsule in tye bears arm. I pulled it out and looked at it. It was black with a red blinking light. Realization hit me. It was a tracker. He knew if Cassie got away, she would take the bear. He put the tracker in so he would be able to find her before she got back home to her pack. I took it and pushed it I to the mattress of her bed. I would have to make sure that nothing else contained hackers as I was sure now that one had been panted somewhere on me in case I escaped. I went to the bathroom and removes all my clothes looking through them. In the seam of my shirt, I felt a tiny hard like capsule. BINGO! I picked at the shirt thread until I could get inside. A tiny black capsule a lot smaller than the one in the bear with a blinking light . I put my shirt back on and took the tracker and stuffed it inside my mattress. I laid back on my pillow needing to get some rest. I couldn’t get Greyson and Jordan off my mind. I couldn’t wait to cuddle my baby girl and be in Greyson’s strong arms. I felt so empty and so alone without them it was unbearable. “Well, Well, Well.” I jumped up at the voice. “If she isn’t awake during one o my nightly visits.” He snickered. I instantly went to sit in front of Cassie proactively. He was an average size man that stood around six foot. His hair was jet black and his features where all way to perfect. Perfect bone structure, chiseled jaw line, full lips. Not one blemish or hair out of place. And though his figure wasn’t large I knew the power that sit behind those red eyes. “Oh, look at mommy protecting the little orphaned pup.” He feigned as if he was crying. Then anger took over an he looked at the guard. “Bring her to my office now.” He snapped. “f**k f**k FUCK.” I gasped to myself. I knew if I fought him, he would tranquilize or shock me and I needed my strength for tomorrow. “ You going to fight me wolf or you going to come peacefully because so will put you down.” The night shift guard asked me. He was a small over weight man who like to eat to many doughnuts. I snickered at him, “No need. I’ll behave.” I promised. He took a pole with a metal collar attached and latched it around my neck and lead me down the hallway in front of him. It felt like a dog on the end of animal controls restraint. I was angry but I tried to push it down. He led me down the long hallway that led to an elevator. He pushed the up button. The door opened and he pushed me in cuffing me to the bar and removing the neck restraint as there wasn’t enough room to leave it on in the tiny space. He boarded the elevator once he seen I was secure and hit button one. “ We must be in the basement.” I thought as the door closed. “How does it feel as a human to work with people and prisoners who could snap you like a ducking twig?” I asked him. His eyes grew wide but he kept his composure and ignored me. “What would you do if a certain prisoner you where keep g had people on the outside that would hunt everyone who worked in this facility and their families’ down should anything happen to her?” I asked him nonchalantly. “I’ve never hurt anyone.” He snapped. “Yet you still work here where you have watched a grown man feed from a child every night.” I whispered. “What kind of man does that make you? What would your family think if they ever found out. Maybe I’ll send my mate to find out .” I looked around as if I was no longer interested in his disgusting ass. “Listen please I don’t want my family involved. They pay good here. Its hell getting a good job anymore. I don’t want my family o. The streets. Besides she’s a werewolf not a….” His voice trailed off. He knew he had made a mistake. I simply looked at him and nodded. “Bold move sir.” I simply stated. The door opened to the elevator. “I’m not going to put this back on if you agree not to try anything.” He showed me the neck restraint. I nodded my head and he unlocked the handcuff and placed it on my other wrist leading me in front of him out the door and down another hallway. The air was cold and there a door to my right which I was sure ked to the exit and a door to my left which looked to be an office. Then there was a door that was painted blood red in front of me. I knew that’s where we were going. “Don’t speak unless your spoken to and don’t look him in the eyes and you’ll be okay.” The man whispered. I look at him out of the corner of my eye. Why was he telling me this? What did he care I was only a werewolf after all. “I’ll be out here waiting to take you back.” He told me and I just nodded my head acknowledging him. He knocked on the door and waited for a buzzer to sound before taking me in. I was repulsed at the sight in front of me. A slender blonde headed woman was sitting in his lap drinking from his wrist. Her eyes where black and veins spread out over her face. She looed at me and back at him. “You will not touch her Rebecca. She is not for you.” He told her obviously compelling her. “Have you changed her?” I gasped. “Why yes Gabriella I have.” He smiled. “How could you. That’s against the law. Yet you people preach about us following your ridiculous rules.” I spat at him. “She earned it. She brought me you after all.” He laughed. I looked at her anger spreading through me. “You done this you little church.” I growled. She only smirked as she continued to drink from him. “keep laughing . you’ll be the first I kill once I’m out of here.” I told her. She sat up and looked at me and hissed taking a defensive stance. “Now ladies calm down.” Count Lucifer stood up. “Rebecca looked at him and then me and visibly relaxed., I smirked at her. “Your nothing but a f*****g puppet.” I laughed. She hissed once more and he ked her to a door to my right. “Don’t come out until you can learn to behave. “He told her, his eyes glowing red. She nodded and went inside. He locked the doo and sat down behind his black desk. “Have a seat, Gabriella. “He pointed to the red leather chair. I moved away from the chair and sat down. “Remove her cuffs. She poses no threat to me.” He told the guard who done as he asked. Once the guard removed the cuffs he stepped outside the door. Lucifer looked me up and down making me squirm in my seat uncomfortable due to the lust in his eyes making bile rise up in my throat that I swallowed down. “So I seen you have become comfortable around Cassie.” He smirked. “Or course I have she us a child you have had locked up for over a year in this goddess forsaken place.” I snarled. He leaned his head back. “Goddess! Oh, your Goddess. That b***h has a twisted mind don’t you think. Making all these species with her lover she has guards for centuries while he sleeps. She calls us her children while she watches us at war with each other. We are nothing but pawns in her game.” He hissed. I sat there and said nothing as he ranted. “How’s the family Gabriella. Are you and the new Mate getting along.” I growled at his mention of Greyson. “What about the new bundle of hoy?” He asked. I froze! He knew about Jordan. I quickly recovered squeezing my brows together, “I have no child.” I laughed. “Don’t lie to me Gabriella!” He hissed. “Well then let’s get down to business shall we. I have brought you here for a specific reason. Not the one that you think.” He leaned back in his chair crossing his feet on his desk. “I am the most powerful oldest living creature on earth Gabriella. Well until I that b***h Selene you f*****g Goddess decided to gift you with those ridiculous powers.” He scuffed waving his long fingers at me. “He seemed to think only I had powers. Did he not know about Greyson’s?” I thought to myself. “Now since I am powerful beyond anything you could ever fathom, and now you’re here. Wouldn’t it be great if we could combine the two?” He asked. “Out with-it Lucifer quit skirting around it.” I spat. “You and me procreating my dear.” He smiled. “You have got to be kidding me?” I laughed. “You have 48 hours to think on it before I visit you little family.” He smirked. I jumped up snarling and went over his desk. He picked me up by the throat and threw me against the wall. I fell down “If you didn’t have these f*****g wards up Id rip your head off.” I growled at him. “Oh, Gabriella I love your tenacity.” He purred. “Now go. I am bored with you.” He waved toward the door and the buzzer sound went off before it unlocked. The guard came in taking me by the elbow, “And Gabriella remember forty eight hours.” He teased. The rage in me was overpowering but I pushed it down and ignored him. He would regret ever threatening my family. Author's Notes Gabriella is a force to be reckoned with. I'm excited to see what happens next.
