Father and Son.

Aeries groaned in frustration at his father.  .  "Shouldn't you at least listen to me?" He asked with a frown.    His father scoffed and spoke in a demeaning language while gritting his teeth in anger .  "You don't have to speak anymore, it'll come out the same. Trying to beg for forgiveness, but this here is unforgivable! Truly wasted the family wealth all to buy some pretty looking slaves! And trying to have an Alibi you actually threw them in a mix of other senile slaves... Truly senseless of you."   Aeries pressed his fingers up against his aching temples in resignation, letting his father waste all the spittle he had in store. “It’s childish to get angry at me for not being able to keep your lust in check . Besides how did you even get out of the house and what's more gain entry here? Still using Your house name as your back rest?. A man is known for the life he lived, not the Ancestors he had. Remember that” Letting out a sigh that coalesced as a cloud of fog around his head, Aeries nodded to himself. This really is the case of 'Your first appearance Stuck' he still sees me the Country's youngest Slick Pants obviously. A palpable tension clung to the air as Aeries Stared at Kane and his pals and it was obvious that the immediate gathering of this group as soon as he left the Arena had something to do them.  "Father, I wish to withdraw from this competition. Am going back home. Sorry for disappointing you as an unfulail son. This child is sorry."     The two of them shared a long look, and even without speaking a single word, Aeries just knew by the Earl's expression that he had overstayed his welcome .   "You can go. No branching anywhere, I'll see you at home." Earl Thorres left this words without looking back. Making Aeries frown all the more.    'He truly doesn't understand does he?" His chest tightened as his father walked past him and beckoned in the rest of the children without another word. Aeries gaze followed him as he walked off back towards the Auction Hall without once looking back . “It’s time to go,” Aeries finally said to the crowd of somewhat smelly beings behind him, turning his back to his Father as well as the ongoing Auction. Perhaps sensing his mood, Lana and the other slaves walked silently by his side as they all made their way out of the Imperial Trade Hall.  Aeries struggled to keep himself from looking back more than once. Regret and guilt tore at him as he wished nothing more than to thank and say goodbye to the mentor who had taught and done so much for him in the past few months.   To tell him that this would probably be the last time they talked. Maybe for years.. Or forever.  But deep down he knew he couldn't, if not he'll be here forced to stay back.  'The other chosen are probably closing on me using whatever tricks in their Arsenal... Truthfully I had wanted to stay here for some time.. Experience the warmth of a truly rich mother.. Ha ha"   Aeries and his group walked silently on the pounding streets, having already traveled quite a few meters from the Imperial Hall where the slaves had known to be their prison.. Their darkest bonds. And also their home .   They were headed roughly in the direction of the Earl's mansion as the slaves let their fantasies run wild,  hoping to obtain their future piece of the large cake and get more status with every hard work they did. As to whether they’d willingly work hard though,  Aeries had no qualms with forcing it out of them after experiencing his father's sadness. Before leaving Krush's meeting room he was asked whether to implant them with Brands or buy soul chains for all of them. Brands where magical arrays written on the bodies of the slaves that can act as a receptive center, letting you command them as you want.   Soul chains here, are artifacts that tied the soul of the servant to that of their master. Letting the master have authority over their life and death and also even commanding their involuntary actions like a robot.    The downside of the Branding is that the brands are writings like lines all over their bodies and are so painful it could even take the lives of weak willed slaves. The later had it's own flaws.. One is that was very costly thus being useless in the eyes of others and also it could be broken if the servant could grow stronger than the rank of the soul chains used.    Soul chains like other weapons were translucent gold rings created by weaponsmith. The higher the rank of the chains, the more difficult it was to break it. Typically it goes in ranks   A rank one Soul chain can be broken by Martial Warriors and above      Rank two can be broken by Martial Generals and above, etc.       Looking down, Aeries focused on flicking a gold coin larger than his pinky,  which was a gift his father gave him some time ago,  While frustrated to no end, the coin was probably used as a currency in some faraway Empire but that wasn't why his father gave it out.. It was because of the carvings on the coin. It depict a man dragging the sky with a long winding chain. Then, his father said he admired how bold and daring the man was. Going against all of heavens with only his will. Why should the gods sit high up the sky and watch us fight, suffer, starve.. And still praise them. Truly a bull of s**t.   '  Remember son' he said.. 'gods aren't meant to be reverend or feared.. But should act as your pin point. A stage you should set as your limit.' the previous Aeries had secretly laughed it off. But the him now....       'Interesting!!'   He turned to see Lana watching him with a knowing smile in her eyes and lips pressed shut in a cute pucker.. Trying her best to openly advertise her assets. He held a barf and cleared his throat to bring the silenced and dead pan servants to attention.   "Am going to say this once. I have here with me 200 soul chains. En, and I really don't want to force some of you.. Now who amongst you wouldn't like being a slave.. You want to be free instantly?"  A looming silence took over making Aeries scratch the back of his neck in embarrassment. Hell I should've phrased that better.   "Do you really mean it?" Lana was the one who finally spoke out in disbelief.  "Yeah, well there are two choices now. First you stay with me and become contracted.. For just 5 years! After five years you'll be given a commission to start your life or even continue to aid me if you wish.. And during your stay you'll be granted cultivation resources and even a tutor to aid you.   Or you can choose to leave right now and you'll be granted 30 gold each to either go back home or become residents here. So which do you choose."
