The Perspective of Ariana
"No apology after hitting me?" I glared at him, my chin raised in a display of rage. I asked outright, making a strong effort to convey my anger, but this man made no move. "Correction," he said angrily, "I didn't hit you; my driver almost did." He pointed to the car and said, "So now, get in it," but I refused to back down.
How daring of him, God.
"I've told you I'm fine, no need taking me to the hospital !" His persistent bothering finally got to me.
I didn't feel hurt, so I thought he should just accept that, even though I knew he didn't take no for an answer. Alright, that's his fault.
"No, darling," he growled. "I need your word that you won't harass and threaten to blackmail me with fictitious injuries at some point. Why would I do that? I asked, "I don't even know you," and then something dawned on me.
I asked him softly, "Were you deceived your whole life?" as I looked up at him, not caring that his cold eyes were staring straight into mine.
I swear I saw a weird feeling flash in his eyes, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared, leaving me to wonder if there was a hole in this man's wall. He did a great job of hiding his emotions, and I gave him a thumbs up for it unlike me, whose emotions always won out.
He firmly stated, "It still doesn't stop the fact we're paying a special visit to the hospital," which made me groan. I was going to give up on him and have a full-time argument before I went pale and exclaimed, "Oh no."
He asked, "What's wrong?" as if my abrupt mood swing had caught his attention.
I couldn't tell if he was genuinely concerned or if he was just trying to win me over and get me to go to the hospital. Even though he didn't appear worried, his voice seemed to convey everything. Who should I believe?
I told him, realizing there was no point in keeping it from him because eventually his icy stares and glares would force the truth out of me: "I'm late for my boyfriend's birthday celebration."
Furthermore, knowing that gave me newfound confidence that he would be cautious around other people's girlfriends because he wouldn't want to be treated the same way, but I was completely mistaken and his attitude was awful.
"So?" he inquired.
"So?" "You're the reason I'm this late and trust me," I shot back, tossing my hands in complete dismay. I felt like I was breathing fire. "You're gonna have to take responsibility"
We had a brief moment of silence as we talked in depth and kept our thoughts to ourselves, but his watchful eyes never once left me.
He had a trust issue, there was just something about him that didn't add up. I had sympathy for him because it was obviously written over his face.
"So what do you want me to do?" With a look that sent shivers down my spine, he asked.
"For a start, just drive me to the hotel," I said, but the expression on his face drew my attention. I turned my head away because I didn't like the effect his stare was having on me. It didn't feel right.
He gulped rapidly and his eyes narrowed slightly, and I realized he must have misunderstood me.
Oh no.
"My partner is employed there. "I want to surprise him for his birthday," I said, smirking and erasing any s****l notion from my head. "What's in for me?" he asked, dashigning my hopes that he would perform a few deeds of kindness without expecting anything in return. "Really? Are you unable to assist those in need? I made a caring face by slightly pouting my lips and batting my eyebrows.
He said icily, "Darling, it's give and take," as I let out a sorrowful sigh.
It was going to be difficult to get a car by this late hour, and Mr. Cold and Cruel would not let me leave until he had proof that I would not return and threaten him with fictitious injuries.
I snorted, like he's some star.
"Okay," I finally gave up. "I'll write a statement stating that I'm fit and well, which you can use against me in court." How does that sound, then?" I threw the ball into his court and said boldly. Now, it's all up to him.
He muttered a few incoherent words and then gave me an answer, a spasmodic frown visible on his features.
"All right," he said, smiling but not showing me his face, and he extended his hand to shake mine. "Deal?"
I gazed at his outstretched hand, questioning whether it was prudent to make a deal with Mr. Danger. I shook his large, rough hand, letting him know I wasn't a coward.
"Deal then," I said, offering him a heartfelt smile that fell short of melting his icy heart.
I couldn't help but ogle his long, slender fingers, which were encrusted with exquisite rings that were obviously costly. He was obviously wealthy, so it makes sense that he needed my proof because blackmail typically results in financial loss, and he has no intention of experiencing any.
What a skillful economist.
If electricity hadn't zinged through my body and I immediately withdrew my hand, I would have continued exploring.
He gave me an awkward look, and I wondered if he sensed the same thing. If he felt that way, he was very good at hiding it because he went back to his usual expression of coldness.
"What are you still waiting for?" I went to his car after he said, "Get into the car," and fortunately he opened the door for me. He still understands the meaning of being polite, though. "Thank you?" I prefer asking questions, but in any case, he didn't respond.
Learning experience Keep your gratitude to yourself, Ariana.
While his driver drove to the hotel, he sat next to me. We sat in silence for quite some time, and after no one approached to strike up a conversation, I finally had enough. "So, what do you do for a living?" I began, attempting to engage him in whatever piqued his curiosity, but his response was unenthusiastic and said, "None of your business," sounding completely heartless.
The second lesson is to avoid talking to him.
Having run out of options, I began humming a song to myself when I noticed his glum expression and clenched fist. "God damn you," he yelled angrily at me. "And damn you too," I replied, deciding that enough was enough.
What on earth was the issue with him?
Does he not understand and value my freedom of speech? If it could be done, I would have given him a six hundred thousand power glare because I was so furious.
I immediately realized there would be no avoiding a crash and that there would not be a survivor if we didn't destroy each other before reaching our objective. Not even his chauffeur, for I'll drag them all the way to hell.
