PAULETTE POV
I didn't understand what just happened. I was mad that both of my parents ganged up on him like that. They had no right to say what they said. I was also upset at my mate for reacting the way that he did last night and then again this morning. I get that he was hurt and angry, but did he honestly believe that I wanted ANY of this?!
My mother recovered first. "What the hell?! How dare he?!"
Now I am pissed! "MOM! How did you expect he would react? You and dad basically called him a failure as a mate and father!" I stood up with difficulty, then faced them. "If I were in his position I would have reacted much worse than he did! Dad, I'm sorry that you had to hear me last night, but I am an adult and I can deal with my mate." I turned and headed to get my shoes on.
