“Are they following us?” Nathan asked, panting against the wall in a narrow alleyway. Marcus was peering around the corner, making sure nobody was after them. The humans stood trembling on their legs, out of breath, but mostly, out of energy. They most likely hadn’t eaten in days. The she-wolf was even worse off. Marcus carried her most of the way, making sure she could keep up.
