The Wolf

"Thorin" the boy ignored it, "It's not important, I don't listen to traitors" he thought, he felt his wolf rumble in agreement, and from the silence that followed he assumed everyone else heard it too. "Thorin open your eyes." His wolf snorted and laid back his ears, "He dares command us, after what he did." This time it was Thorin who rumbled in agreement. "Look at me." He felt his fathers alpha aura creeping into the words and felt himself struggling to keep his eyes closed. "Two can play at that game, we are alpha too." his wolf paced back and forth in his mind, "he wants us to look at him, then we shall look at him, but through my eyes." He smirked and felt his wolf chuckle, handing over control to his wolf he sat back to watch. The pain of changes where nothing now, he was quick with his shifts since that night. Fen pushed to the surface and they lunged at the alpha landing on his desk, papers flew everywhere. His irises, usually a deep shade of blue where now a glowing cold yellow. As suddenly as he had shifted so did his father, and in a single toss of his paw sent the wolf, flying into the bookshelf. They were silent as the hit the wall with a painful thud, pain radiated from his back but Fen pushed it away, and Thorin stored it, to fuel their rage. He snarled aggressively at his alpha, the fur on the back of his neck bristled, and his tail thrashing with rage. "You ask us to look at you, all I see is a pathetic excuse for an alpha who murdered our mother." They Mind-Linked. "You are out of place Fen, give Thorin control NOW." The alpha command came down the link with a painful amount of force behind it. But Fen was not so easily banished, he leapt across the room, "Fen watch out!" Thorin screamed internally, but the wolf only snorted, "I know what I'm doing!" he hissed in reply. They dodged to the right of the alpha and slammed into the Gamma, Quinn. Thorin had always liked Quinn's calm demeanor, he was the packs Gamma. Responsible for the emotional well-being of the pack, Thorin thought he must not have it easy, being constantly thrown in between him and his father, the man must sleep like the dead. He snorted internally, here he was feeling sorry for the man that had held their mother down while his father had murdered her. "Get your head out of your memories and in the chase!" Fen snapped, his patience grinding away by the second. They slammed into the hallway of the pack house and bounded down the stairs, they heard gasps around them but paid them no mind. "You will obey!" He felt the Aura of his father behind him and fought to keep running but his paws were getting heavier by the second. Thorin felt heavier still as he saw Theo, the packs Beta and Derek the Packs Delta closing the doors to the pack house. they usually stayed open, and that's what they had been counting on, but now with nowhere to go they had no choice but to stop running. "You really think that?" Fen laughed manically and aimed his paws towards the window, Thorin screamed internally as they crashed through it, shards of glass embedding themselves in his skin. He felt blood trickling down his muzzle, but with the weight of the Alpha command lifted they quickly gained back momentum, or they thought they did. As soon as their paws hit the ground something cannoned into their side sending them skidding in the dirt struggling for the breath that had been knocked out of them. "Shift" His father's voice came down the Mind-Link, joined by Quinn, Derek and Theo's auras and commands. Thorin felt Fen get shoved violently into the back of his mind leaving him all alone to face his father's wrath. Thorin got to his feet slowly and spit a wad of blood on the ground beside him. "f**k you all" He screamed and then his father punched him. "Lights out for now my partner in crime" Fen spat, and then it all went dark. POV SAUL "Jesus f*****g Christ, what am I supposed to do with this f*****g kid!" he swiped everything off his desk is a fit if rage and saw Quinn wince a little as it all hit the ground with a mixture of sounds and crashes. The Gamma was especially tuned to emotions and unfortunately sounds too. Saul made a mental note to keep the yelling to a minimum, as if sensing what he was thinking the Gamma waved his hand in dismissal and joined his alpha as he sat down on the couch with a huff. "Well it does seem like he has a better relationship with his wolf now at least." Quinn stated and Derek raised a brow, "His wolf is a f*****g psycho, you saw him, went right through f*****g window." The man went to the window and cracked it open, striking a match on his boot he lit a cigarette, and drew in an uneasy breath. "The pack is uneasy Saul, it's been 6 months of repeated outbursts from him, many people have gotten hurt because of it." Derek looked at Quinn, who nodded. The alpha was not blind to this interaction. Quinn sat forward and steadied his gaze. "I think we need help, to get this under control." Derek nodded and came to sit down as well, picking up a toppled chair and sitting on it backwards. "It took all of us today Saul, he is getting stronger, and that wolf of his is unpredictable." "He's only 6." The alpha's voice was soft, and defeated. "He and that wolf of his will be growing up together now, we need to get them in the right track, this is uncharted territory." Quinn handed him a cellphone, "make the call Alpha" Bane The alpha's wolf, surfaced gently, "we cannot help pup anymore, need to protect pack now." The wolf had thrown in the hat it seemed, even he could no longer manage their rebellious spawn. "We created this Bane, this is our fault." His wolf shook his head "Not our fault, the moon goddess has been cruel to us, but she must have a plan." His faithful wolf, loyal to a fault and blindly going through life with the idea that it was all according to plan. "How I envy your belief." He stated, his agitation apparent, Bane gave a low growl but said no more. Saul took the phone and dialed the number, it was time to put the pack first. POV Thorin "That could have gone better" Thorin opened his eyes slowly, allowing his eyes to adjust. "ah back to the cell I see" Fen lounged in the back of his mind, seemingly pleased with himself. "This is your fault." Thorin muttered and sat up slowly. "Morning" Theo murdered from the chair in the corner of the cell, he was flipping aimlessly through a magazine, looking annoyingly comfortable. "Why can't you assholes leave me alone" he spat , but Theo merely chucked. "Because that wolf of yours is trouble, and you are the heir to this pack" Fen came to the surface for a brief moment only to be pushed back by the silver chains around their wrists. Theo glanced up from his reading "ah ah, big bad wolf gonna have to sit this one out." they sat in silence for a while, Thorin's stomach protested, he hadn't had anything to eat in a while it seemed. He saw Theo's eyes glaze over for a second then he got to his feet, setting the magazine on the chair he left the cell. "Hey!" Thorin called out but received no answer. He sat alone for a while, wondering what came next, he was no stranger to this room, it was covered with claw marks, from months of escape attempts. It was a simple room, concrete, no furniture except the char that Theo had sat in "Something is a-miss Thorin." the boy closed his eyes, concentrating on finding Fen in his mind, he grabbed onto the energy that was his wolf and pictured himself sitting in front of him. "I feel it as well, Usually Quinn is the one who sits with me, and now no one is here?" The massive wolf nodded in agreement, his head c****d slightly in concern. They had both grown significantly in the past couple of months, usually a Wolf did not come to their human counterpart until the age of 16 and even then they did not shift fully until the age of 18. Thorin was only 6, but Fen had come early to protect him. He shuddered as he remembered his first change, he only remembered the pain, the breaking of bones and snapping of limbs, Fen had tried to shield him then by pushing him to the furthest point of his mind. but it had only served to make him panic, "Trip down memory lane?" Fen got to his feet and approached Thorin, pushing his head affectionately into his Human counterpart. Their relationship had origionally been strained, like a unwanted voice in his head he had pushed Fen away, locking him in the depths of his mind. It had been torture for them both, they where bound whether they wanted it or not. "So...plans?" Thorin asked, Fen snorted, "A change of scenery." Suddenly they were by a lake, the boy was used to such changes in his mind, after all he was sharing it. He picked up a stone and skipped it across the lake cheering up instantly as it skipped across the water four times before sinking into the depths. His mental paradise was interrupted as the door to his "Room" opened abruptly. He felt Fen recede into his mind. Unlike most wolves, silver did not affect him so, it only made it so that he could not shift, but Thorin could still access his wolf, it was a secret they had decided should stay hidden. "On your feet Thorin." his fathers gruff voice came from the doorway, He climbed to his feet deciding to wait on insulting his father till he figured out what was going on, the whole alpha untit was acting strangely and neither he nor Fen where liking the Aura that seemed to be leaking from them all. "Careful." Thorin grinned, "I know what I'm doing" He responded. The wolf laid his ears back and let out a low growl, "Cheeky child" He returned to the conversation that was taking place in front of him, his father had said something, and seemed to be waiting for a reply. "What?" he asked. Theo smirked from his chair in the corner, which at some point during his fathers lecture he had returned to. Suddenly Bane, his fathers wolf was on the surface, he grabbed Thorin chin and yanked so he was looking directly into the Wolfs Dark brown eyes. "so brazen, so disrespectful, I have had enough" In a single motion the wolf snapped the chains from the wall and began dragging Thorin. Theo was on his feet in an instant, "Alpha" he shouted, but the half changed wolf that was his father paid the Beta no mind. "You wish to fight my son, we shall fight!" his thunderous voice shook the concrete pillars to the stockades, the door swung open, and in a single motion he broke the chains around the boy's wrists and sent him flying out of the building and skidding to a halt in the middle of the training fields. He felt the pangs of the change as Fen was released from his binds, wolves scattered around them, it appeared they had interrupted the evenings training sessions. As the last wolf trickled from the field the Alpha changed fully, his massive wolf shook out his coat and lowered his head, a deep snarl ripped from his throat, his teeth glistened as he licked his muzzle, snarling. Thorin felt the eyes of the pack on them, no one moved, the pack was hardly breathing, their heartbeats had quickened sensing the danger before them, they all just watched and waited. Fen snarled in return and the two beasts began circling each other, the alpha Unit had worried expressions on their faces, but they knew better then to interfere. This was no longer Saul, Bane had taken full control, and his rage knew no bounds. Fen was small, he was still a growing wolf, but he was fast. Bane lunged suddenly and Fen quickly sidestepped, hurling himself under the Alpha, swiping his claws up and catching the sensitive skin of his belly ripped away easily leaving a large gash and fresh blood flowing onto the ground, The wolf howled in rage and turned just in time to catch Fen's back with his claws. The smaller wolf screamed in agony and was thrown back landing with a thud against the stockades. Fen was up immediately, but they weren't fast enough, a large paw came down crushing them and pinning them to the ground, Thorin felt teeth wrap around his throat and fear settled into him like a blanket. "Beg" They heard Bane's voice in their head. "No" They responded, They would not beg their mothers murderer, they had tried that once, and he had killed her anyway. "You are not worthy to be Alpha, and one day we will take that from you, just as you took away our mother." Thorin's voice was backed up by Fen's, they disagreed about a great many things, but Thorin knew that they agreed on this. Never would they beg again. Blood flowed freely from the gashes on their back, Fen had used all his strength in the fight, They did not have the stamina of an adult wolf yet so he tiered easily, and Thorin could feel his consciousness slipping away, as surely as his blood was. "Rest now Fen " he whispered, he felt his wolf sigh, and change leaving his fragile, childish form under the paw of the alpha above them. "We will not bow to you, ever, cast us aside, starve us, beat us, leave us to rot in rogue territory, we will be back, and we will kill you." he whispered, before the darkness came, he could have swore he saw a tear leave the Wolfs eye, but he shook it off, he was mistaken no doubt.
