W-wait!”the young girl screamed as a cloud of dust blinded her as a horse-drove carriage rode off the village’s exit grounds.
She blinked her eyes for a moment and then sped off to chase the moving vehicle as it made its way to the distance. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her.
“Please wait!” she shouted as loud as she could but was overpowered by the thundering hooves of the horses. “Wait! Wait up please!”her voice was hoarse from all the screaming. “Come back!”
She continued running- oof!
The young girl slipped into a small ditch and grazed her knees as it started bleeding slightly.
She flinched at the sight of it.
“Please. . .come back.”she called barely above a whisper.
“P-please. . .” She hopelessly whimpered.

“I can’t believe you’re actually leaving our hometown.” Rose murmured as she looked at Sora packing her clothing. 'Grubby ones in fact’Rose thought to herself with a sense of entitlement.
“You know how much I hate this place. . .”Sora sighed wearily and looked at her with a small pout and it was returned with a roll of Rose’s eyes.
“I’m finally getting out of this hopeless situation.” she explained to her friend as patiently as she could to which it seemed barely successful.
“Well at least not the people” Rose shrugged casually. “People everywhere can’t help but love me.”the red-head said as vainglory as it was possible.
“Oh brother.” Sora muttered under her breath as quiet as she could. ‘Makes me reconsider “this place” to “people like you”’she thought silently within herself.
“Of course Rose- I’m doing this for everyone’s sake here in the village.” She smiled at her brightly to which Rose responded with a huff of disbelief. ‘As if Sora- I know you better than anyone else' the older woman thought to herself already having an idea or two of what really ran inside the brunette’s mind.
“Once I get my name known- they’ll learn to recognize us merchants beyond just selling and earning a living.”Sora grinned as she fist-pumped and the other woman simply sweatdropped.
“Oh yes- I can see it now. We’ll become merchants of . . . death!” Rose then laughed trying to catch her breath as she nearly wheezed the air out.
“Ha ha ha very funny Rose . . . and actually it does sound like a good title.” Sora said to herself in afterthought. ‘Sora the merchant of death. Not too shabby’
A rustling near the tent’s door was heard and the brunette already knew who was behind that sound.
“Gah I should hurry up.”Sora groaned and started fitting in every spare item she could find into her suit case.
“Really dear it seems like you’re just trying to run away from here before your parents find out and kill you for destroying a stall.” Rose snickered at her. Sora’s parents were the kindest bunch you would ever meet really but were quite strict.
“Remember they’re dangerous but not as much as the outside world.” The young woman lectured Sora as wisely and sagely as possible.
‘My goodness when Rose did became so smart-aleck.’ Sora wondered to herself.
“Yes- yes of course I know that.” The woman replied.
“Goodness I can’t believe how silly you are to ever want to leave this-“
“Hey brat- hurry up. We need to get back at the Capital before sundown unless you want to fight monsters.”Raiden’s voice broke out as he called out from the tent’s entrance.
“Did you hear that Sora?! Monsters! You better-“ Rose started blustering but stopped mid-sentence when she saw Raiden.
“I better what?” Sora quirked a brow, “Hey put a sock in it Raiden.”she quickly added and threw a sock at him. “You can’t hurry up a girl in fixing her things.”
“That’s actually pretty sexist you know?” Raiden quipped and shrugged off the sock on his shoulder in disgust.
“So Rose?” Sora said ignoring the male and looked at the gawking young woman. “What is it?”she asked whilst sighing.
“You better take me along that’s what! You can’t leave me behind! I’ll go and start packing faster than you can say even say hurrah!” Rose announced quickly changing her former idea for the new prospect.
The young male’s eyes widen.“We really have to get going now- I apologize, we’ll make sure that Sora writes you a post card or sends an email though.” Raiden said quickly grabbing the young woman’s wrist and pulling her out of the tent. “Hey!”Sora whined as he pulled her out. “I didn’t even pack my toothbrush yet!”
The male simply rolled his eyes at her excuse, “We’ll get you a new one. Just get going.”
“Aw don’t tell me you’re trying to escape my friend Rose are you?”She teased. “The great and powerful warrior is frightened by some little ‘ol merchant?” she giggled to herself as Raiden questioned whether or not the woman was serious or not.
“It’s not that- she’d just be an additional burden if she comes.” The man grumbled. “I don’t even have to explain that to you- just keep walking and don’t look back.”he ordered her with a small glare.
“Or what?” she countered. “I’ll pulverize you to salt.” He threatened. “Gosh so harsh.” Sora squeaked.

~Thoughts from the Main Character~
Hey it’s meee! Sora the Merchant of Death! Well in time of course. You just have to wait a bit more.
So here am I travelling with my amazing teammates. (I’d probably search for a kinder group in the future though)
First off is the team snobby leader. Raiden. He’s a warrior with an awesomely huge sword. I can’t imagine how he carries that in his back. Well he seems pretty strong despite being very stick-like. Stick in the mud that is- te-hee!
Then we’ve got our super smart intellectual Haichi. He may look cute and pathetic yet he stunned me with how much knowledge he had accumulated in that brain of his.
He’s like a walking encyclopaedia.
An Encyclopaedia!
Plus he can apply some of it in his creations too.
Lastly is Cosette.
She’s the kindest girl ever but Raiden’s mean attitude neutralizes her kindness out so she doesn’t count up in the goodness of the group much. – insert sweat drop – Surprisingly she’s not your white-cloaked mage using her energy to heal your boo-boos. No, this young woman has a torrent of electrical force and a tsunami of water current ready to be released.
She’d be the most formidable in my opinion if she had even a quarter of Rai’s hostility.
~End~
. . . . . . . . .
“So are we there yet?” Sora asked while poking Raiden’s sword as he grunted and walked faster for a few seconds.
“Almost.” the guy replied and then sighed in exhaustion. “Want me to carry that sword for ya? You seem tired.” Sora told him with an innocent smile and batted her eyelashes as she walked up to him.
He stopped for a moment and chuckled. “Even if I trusted you or was ever dumb enough to let you carry this- you’d still be unable to carry this.” Raiden told the woman while grabbing the hilt of the sword and pulled it out.
Its seemingly translucent obsidian blade shimmered in the nearly encroaching dusk as the sun continued to set down.
“Wow! I’ve never seen such a well-made spectacle of a crystalized sword. Truly this was made by such an amazing smith man.” Sora gaped at the sword, admiring its beauty.
“Where in heavens did you buy this?! How much was this one? It must have cost a fortune! Show me where you bought this! ”she demanded, albeit to Raiden it seemed like begging.
The young man made a face at her incessant begging but smiled proudly afterwards for her seemingly compliments. “You won’t be able to get this anywhere. It’s a clan heirloom that was passed down to me.”
Haichi sweat-dropped a bit as Sora and Raiden began animatedly talking about the sword’s design and possible hidden capabilities.
“This sword could probably absorb lightning!”
“Or maybe it conducts dark energy.”
“Heck it could even spurt rainbows for all we know!”
Both of them started laughing and continued with their discussion to Haichi’s dread.
‘It’s going to be a really long way back.’ Cosette thought peacefully.

As the stars slowly glitter tonight
They could only wish to have more light
As that smile of yours, so bright
Men like me cower despite our might
Giving us reasons to really fight
He wandered the rooftops of the bustling Capital life. It was really a beautiful night with the stars shining and the moon slightly hidden by clouds.
The surprisingly cool breeze felt amazing on his warm skin as he continued to admire the night skies.
It was still a bit dull compared to the skies in the open meadows though. The stars always shone brighter out in the fresher and less secluded areas.
This had to suffice though.
“Oh goodness it’s him!”a female voice broke out the comfortable silence.
He glanced down into the streets to see a woman passer-by who had stopped and noticed his presence on the rooftops. The young man gave her a goofy grin. “Hey wanna come join me up here?”he asked generously.
“Why don’t you just come down here and join us? Kya~!!” the young woman squealed as more women flocked to where she was standing.
The male laughed cheerfully. “How can I resist such an offer? Just wait a moment.” he clicked a button on his belt and jumped off the roof- a grappling hook attached itself to one of the edge of the roof to soften his landing.
“Oh my he’s so cool!!!” one girl swooned.
“Catch me- I’m falling!” cried another.
The male chuckled and prepared his signature smile for the women as he reached the ground. “Why thank y-“His blood ran cold and the young man’s heart stopped beating for a moment.

“Finally! We’re heeere!” Sora cheered and finally stretched her arms after dropping her luggage when they reached the gates of the Capital.
Haichi laughed awkwardly seeing her act so care freely while Raiden proceeded to talk with the Capital’s entrance guards. Cosette let out a small yawn. “It really is a bit late.” She murmured to nobody.
As Sora glanced around her surrounding- she noticed a crowd, well more like a flock of women herded around a lone male it seemed.
She wanted to cringe at the sight and feel sorry for the poor guy with all the unwanted attention.
Until she realized that guy seemed familiar, it was hard to determine with the distance though. She turned away as Raiden called her to approach them.
“Well better fill up these papers for now. You’re currently considered a visitor until the guild leader accepts you as a member.” He explained, “Well if she accepts you.” He clarified condescendingly.
“Pfft. . . You already consider me a member.”Sora kidded the young male as she filled up the application forms.” I’m already halfway there.”
“I’ll let you stay with your delusions.” The male responded with a small snort.

“Man am I so hungry.”Haichi told them as they gathered as a team after the papers. “We should get some late dinner!” he suggested while salivating at the idea of food.
Raiden simply looked dismayed at his team mate lack of manners.
“Hmm sounds great! You know what- I’ll treat! Let’s go over there! That’s a restaurant right?”Sora suddenly said motioning to the one where the women were cramped all over.
She was curious to be honest.
“Are you sure?” Cosette reacted. “That’s actually a bit-“
“I’ve never been there! Let’s goooo!” Haichi said linking his arms with both women and rushing forward to the restaurant to dine with them.
Sora let out a small breathy laugh. Haichi was so energetic when it came to food it seemed. She was slightly worried about the prices but it was the chance to see-
His eyes were an enthralling shade of blood red bejewelled rubies and of a scorching fire that pulled her in.
It contrasted with his ever so pale white skin that was like white rose petals from a fully blossoming flower.
The skin that was just a bit translucent when compared to a cold and freezing shade of silver-like grey hair that reminded her of a proud and magnificent alpha wolf.
A completely mystical appearance . . . and it only could belong to someone who was-
“R-“ her words got caught up in the back of her throat as the person looked directly at her way and straight into her eyes.
Slowly a small smiled played on the young man’s lips.
A tiny single fang protruded.
It was barely noticeable- if one hadn’t seen it already.
She knew it.
It was him. It really was him.
Her body involuntarily started to lurch forward and thankfully she managed to hold herself back and continue with the others towards the restaurant’s entrance.
As the doors closed off the inside and outside.
She let out a sigh of relief.
On the other side- another inwardly sighed.
