Maddy followed Emma through the dark and deserted corridors of the hospital, her heart pounding with anticipation. They were on a mission to uncover the truth about the experimental treatment.
As they turned a corner, Emma stopped suddenly, her eyes fixed on something ahead. Maddy followed her gaze and saw a door hidden behind a tapestry.
"What's this?" Maddy whispered.
Emma's voice was barely audible. "This is the laboratory where they're administering the treatment. But we have to be careful. The doctors who work here are...not what they seem."
Maddy's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
Emma hesitated before answering. "I've seen them...experimenting on patients. Changing them in ways that can't be explained."
Maddy's heart was racing now. She had to see this for herself.
Emma pushed open the door, and Maddy followed her into the laboratory. The room was dimly lit, with rows of strange equipment and machinery lining the walls.
Maddy's eyes widened as she took in the sight before her. Patients were strapped to tables, their bodies hooked up to machines that beeped and whirred.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was one of the doctors, a tall and imposing man with a cold, calculating gaze.
"Welcome, Nurse Thompson," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "I've been expecting you."
Maddy's heart skipped a beat as the doctor began to walk towards her. She knew she had to think fast if she was going to get out of this alive.
