“She said it's yours? And it's not a threat?” I exclaimed. “How can it not be a threat?” I questioned.
“I don't even know whether the child is really mine or not. And even if he is mine, it's not a threat to you. Don't see it that way,” he reassured.
“But, there is no…” I tried to say, but he silenced me with a kiss.
“It was a mistake. I never loved her, never married her. The only thing that connected us was s*x, and that's it. I would never deceive you. I hate to admit it, but you complete me. With you, I can be vulnerable and not just a boss. You make me feel welcome and at peace,” he confessed softly.
“And if the baby is yours?” I asked in a low voice. “Either she takes care of the child or my mother does,” he replied.
