That evening, I went with Amy to visit my mom. When we arrived, I found my dad sitting directly across from her in the cozy sitting room. i ran towards him excitedly, wrapping my arms tightly around him.
“How long has it been? Four months? Three months?” he asked, holding me close.
“Two years, dad,” I playfully replied.
He chuckled and shook his head. “You'd have me charged to court if it was up to that.”
“Maybe, maybe not,” I said, laughing along.
Glancing at his watch, he sighed. “Unfortunately, baby girl, I really need to go now.” He planted a tender kiss on my forehead.
“So fast?” I protested,surprise in my voice.
