“I know I shouldn't be doing this, but just one page,” I said, opening the diary.
It started with just one page, and before I knew it, I was on the tenth page. I made sure to remember everything I read for future reference.
Finally, I stood up from the bed and returned the diary to where it was. I took the keys to her room from the table and locked it.
As I went down the stairs, my phone started ringing loudly. It was Ethan. “What could be the problem?” I thought, and I answered it right away.
“Hello, boss… I can't hear you, Ethan,” I said, walking towards the car.
“She is asking for you,” he said.
“Who?” I asked, feeling confused.
“Oh, your wife. She's awake,” he replied.
“I'm on my way there,” I said, quickly ending the call, eager to see the love of my life.
