“We need to get out of here now,” I said to Ethan, who was standing behind the door.
“I've gone to meet the doctor to request a discharge warrant. We might not be able to leave until he signs it,” he replied, turning to me.
“I can't leave? Why?” I asked, surprised.
“You signed an agreement to stay until you're healed to some extent. Remember what happened last time? The doctor doesn't want to risk it again,” he explained, and I couldn't help but shake my head.
“But my wife is in danger. I need to leave now,” I said, my voice a bit louder than before.
“The security guys are still tracking her, but they haven't been able to locate her since her phone was switched off. We'll check the last known location. There's a chance we might get lucky,” he reassured me, his attention
