“Derek? No, this can't be,” I said, shaking my head in disbelief.
I was too scared to get closer, but my feet moved on their own. He stood there, looking surprised, unable to take his eyes off me.
“Is he a ghost? I've heard stories of people coming back to live another life in different places. Is that why he's here instead of looking for me?” I wondered as I walked towards him.
“But he doesn't look like one. He looks exactly as he did before. How is he alive? Why didn't he look for me? Is this really Derek?” I asked, standing in front of him.
