Chapter 014

1067 Words
“Oh my God!” I exclaimed. “Xavier, What are you?” I said in a shaky voice as I picked up the bag. I immediately ran towards the door, opened it, and peeped outside to see a group of men sitting there. Gently closing the door, I went back to the chair. As I sat down, I couldn't help but think about everything I had witnessed today. I wondered, “Is he trying to keep something from me?” It never crossed my mind that it could be something so serious. I remembered the time when I accidentally walked in on Xavier and Ethan, and they stopped talking abruptly. I brushed it off as just “Men's talk” and didn't think much of it. “So it was this deep? Wow,” I said to myself. Suddenly, I realized that the voices of the men outside had vanished. I quickly stood up, opened the door, and peeped outside. They had left, except for one person who remained at the door. “Now, I had to find a way to bypass him.” I said, slowly closing the door. “I need to find something to do,” I said, pacing around the room. “Should I scream? No, that would attract attention,” I thought. “Should I wait until he falls asleep? These guys don't sleep easily,” I thought again. I sat there, contemplating the long list of ideas flooding my mind. Then, a perfect idea came to me. “Yes, perfect,” I said, standing up immediately. I walked towards the man, and as I opened the door, he looked up at me. “What do you want, ma'am?” he asked as I approached him. “I need to talk to Ethan,” I said. “Okay, he will be with you shortly,” he replied. I turned back and walked towards the door. Looking back, I noticed he was still standing there, showing no attempt to move an inch. I opened the door and went inside, disappointed that my plan didn’t work. “Common Aria,What will you do now?” I said, walking around the room. “I need to go back. I have to leave this place. I can't stay here for one more day. I don't think I can sleep with that,” I said, determined to leave. I opened the door again to meet the man. “I said I want to see Ethan,” I said loudly, walking towards him. “He will be with you shortly, ma'am,” he said sternly. I quickly thought of what I could do. This was my last chance to leave here. Suddenly, I let out a loud groan, held my stomach, and purposely fell on the floor right in front of the door. “Is everything okay?” He said as he quickly ran towards me. I didn’t bother to answer at first, I had to make sure he will buy my acting up so well, instead I kept groaning trying to open the door to my room. He stretched his hand towards me to help me stand up, which I obliged. “What do you need? Should I call the doctor?” He said as he helped me to the bed. “No, don’t bother. Just get me, Ethan.” I said. “Okay, I will go get him.” He said, running towards the door. I could hear his footsteps as he ran through the corridor to the stairs. As I noticed he was far gone from the corridor, I quickly grabbed one of the face caps I saw on the shelf and my phone. I opened the door and ran the opposite direction which the man had passed through. I saw some group of ladies at a corner talking as I walked towards the stairs, “These ladies and Gossip” I said shaking my head. I took the stairs and I Walked directly to the gate, as I walked towards the gate, I saw a group of men walking from my right, I quickly ran toward a pillar to hide myself from the men. They told the other men at the right-hand side of the mansion, and they all divided into different directions. I looked at my wristwatch, it was five minutes now, they will have noticed my absence, after noticing the road had cleared, I continued walking towards the door. This time I had increased my walking pace, I kept looking at the back to be certain they were not after me yet. Luckily for me, some cars were coming in, leaving the gate widely opened. I quickly ran past the gate to avoid anyone from noticing I was the one passing, immediately I came out from the gate, I dialed Amy’s number to inform her about everything happening, but she wasn’t picking. “I stood there, unsure of what to do. I can't call Mum, and Amy is not picking up. I can't even call my dad. He's the last person I'd ever think of calling if something happened to me. I noticed the mansion gate opened wide, and some guys came out in some cars. Immediately, I spotted a cab across the road and ran towards it. “Stop… Stop,” I said, waving towards the cab, and he finally stopped. I quickly opened the door and entered the cab. “Go, go, anywhere you can go, just go,” I quickly said to the driver. And he zoomed off immediately. As I was in the car, I kept thinking of where to go. It was past 8pm, and I needed to stay somewhere tonight, even if I had to leave the country. “Where should I drop you, ma'am?” the driver asked, interrupting my thoughts. “Blue field Hotels,” I said to him. We got to the hotel, and I kept calling Amy, but she still wasn't picking up. I gave up on the call. “Maybe she is busy with something,” I said, walking towards the mini door to the reception. Suddenly, my phone rang. It was a private number, and immediately I knew who it could be: Xavier. I didn't answer the call and kept walking towards the door. As I was about to open the door, someone suddenly pulled my hand from behind.”
