IARRED Our parents did everything together and I wanted us to do that as well. We were compatible physically, but we needed to be able to connect mentally. Communication was the key to everything. I watched Tamsin’s eyes close and slowly open again. She was eating slower now and shaking her leg underneath the table. “Tamsin, let me feed you.” She shook her head. “No. You’ve barely eaten anything, and you need your strength as well as I do. I’m just getting tired, and the food is so good. It tasted like sweet potatoes.” I put the last bite of food in my mouth and swallowed it whole. I didn’t care for this particular dish. However, I knew that she would like it. Both of us needed to be prepared for the unexpected. It was always best to be prepared for things to not go as planned. Katan
