"Let me." He popped a snap on one side she hadn"t even known was there, then lifted the helmet off her head freeing her from the heavy mask that made her every breath echo back at her.
"Thank you." Jill took a deep breath and nearly closed her eyes with relief. Instead she watched him peel off his own helmet and stow them both on the seat before turning back to her.
"Come on." He took her hand and pulled her along beside him as he headed into what looked like a run-down diner. She wondered for a moment what the food would be like, but the nearly full parking lot told her the food was probably good.
