Exhaustion

Exhaustion isn’t the right word.     There has to be something more intense than that.     That’s what I was feeling as I rested my head against the desk at school, struggling to keep my eyes open.  I’d slept just fine—like the dead even—but woke up feeling more exhausted than I’d felt when I’d first laid down.     And sore.     My entire body was sore.     When I asked Cronan about it, he said it might have to do with the pregnancy.  He looked well rested, almost rejuvenated—it really wasn’t fair.     And with the exhaustion came hunger.     How many times had I fed yesterday?      I’d drank from Aurelia and Cronan—two times I’d had my fill and yet my stomach still growled, body aching.  It was like I was missing something.     *He’s so in love, it’s almost sickening.*     Sitti
