I hear a low growl coming from the man holding me. I look up in surprise and think to myself, 'Oh my goodness! This man is a werewolf, an actual werewolf! What the HELL is this man doing in the Vampire Kingdom, you guys have been enemies since the beginning of time. Always at war, and then sometimes bringing the humans into your stupid wars. What is going on?!'' As I think the last sentence I hear an abrupt "Ahem," and I look over. It came from the devilishly good looking man and the sly smile is wiped off his face completely. Now It just has a disapproving frown and toned body is rigid. "Put her down dog, she's mine." And suddenly I am dropped on the ground. Literally dropped. My butt is singing with pain right now. And the man that just dropped me uttered back, "There Caspian I am going back now." And left without so much as a introduction or farewell. I just rolled my eyes and met the gaze of the man that I just found out to be King Caspian. He looks me up and down and I am completely disgusted. My awe and admiration for this beautiful man is completely up in flames now. I am repulsed and sickened by every detail about him. He is wearing a crisp clean all black suit, which looks oddly completely normal on him. He opens his mouth first to speak, "Hello princess Ebony, my name is King Caspian, but you may just call me Caspian. I know you've had a long trip so I won't hold you up much longer. The rules of the castle are quite simple. Don't leave your room without my precise permission. You are mine now and I plan on being the only one to see you for a long while." At that last part he smirks. "Like hell Caspian, this place reeks of death and I cannot stand being around you already. So for my only interactions to be with only you I think I might end up killing myself." I retort with the upmost disgust I can manage in my voice. He only smirks at that, "Well," he begins, "if that is how you want to play this game I will ever so gladly play as well." And I can see amusement in those ugly green eyes. "You will be my little kitty. In fact I think that's what I'll call you from here on out, Kitty." I almost barf at the pet name. "My name is Princess Ebony Louise and you have no right to call me such a belittling name as Kitty. I am here on your orders to halt the war between humans and vampires and here you are giving me childish nicknames. I have been up for almost 24 hours to get here and I need rest. Just escort me to my prison and I will get settled." I hear coughs trying to cover up his laughter. He just turns around abruptly and waves for me to follow him.
The entire castle is the same as the entrance I notice. The walls the same color, black marble floors, and empty cold walls. Nothing to add decoration or life. It's like living in a freezing cold prison. It is the complete opposite from the Human Kingdom and its castle. We finally reach my room after walking up the fourth floor and he opens the door. The room is already decorated at least. But as I look around I see it's actually his room. Every piece of furniture is black or a gray. The curtains are black that you can see leads out to a balcony, the dresser and desk is black that is covered in pieces of paper, the bed frame is black but the comforter is a surprising light gray. There are no books, no plants, nothing alive, and again the walls are bare and empty. I just look back at him and he is smirking at me with that amused expression of his. "You have got to be kidding me. I am not staying in this room. This is so clearly your room and I don't want to stay with you, we're not even married. Plus, this room is cold and lifeless." I say as I shiver. He only shakes my head and pushes me in. He steps in with me, "Well, Kitty. This is where you WILL be staying." He says with the upmost authority. I almost feel like I can't even speak anymore. Is this his way of manipulating me. I quickly shake my head and he eyes me. He just looks me up and down and opens that hideous mouth of his, "Kitty, we will be sharing a room. You may decorate it as you see fit, but I can't fix the cold problem, you know it's just awfully drafty in here." He smirks at that last part but continues, "I am your king now and you will obey me. I will only stop the war as long as you obey me. If you cannot do that then I will just send you back and destroy your entire Kingdom and allow the deaths of countless thousands. I will erase the existence of humans and allow you to sit and watch." He stops there when he notices I just shake my head. "Fine," I say with the little remaining strength I have, "if you will keep your word I will stay here. But since this is my room now as well it will be completely changing into what I want. At the very least let me decorate my prison so I don't lose my mind and become a madwoman." He just snorts at that last part and curtly shakes his head, "As you wish Kitty."
By now Caspian has left me in the room by myself. He told me he was going to go get the rest of my belongings and bring it up here. The coldness and darkness slowly begins to make its way to my heart. How am I supposed to live like this? Survive? We're not even together and he has me staying with him in this room. If at least I have my books I won't completely lose my way. I just need to think of a way to escape, a way out. I won't go back to the Human Kingdom, but I know I will get claustrophobic just being in this room eventually. I need freedom. The door opens again and in comes Caspian with all of my luggage. He has this huge smile plastered to his face and I can barely keep my body from tackling him. He notices my frustration and just gives a small laugh. He shakes his head and keeps moving all the boxes in. "Jeez Kitty, what are in these boxes. I mean I am a very strong vampire and it's not heavy to me, but I know these weigh more than the average box should." I just shrug my shoulders and look our the window. He looks down and opens my box and I stifle a "Hey!" as he brings out the tops book. He opens the cover and quickly reads the first page. "You know," he says in a low soft voice, "this book is complete trash, I've already read it and met the author when he was alive. Total bore. It kind of sucks to know the princess I am keeping has horrible taste in literature." He just huffs out the last part. I look at him as if he just tore off one of my arms. That comment hit a little too close to home for me. Did he really just make fun of one of the best books I have ever read? I couldn't help myself as I walk about to him and push him. Of course, he didn't even move an inch. He meets my gaze coolly, "Kitten, did you just push me?" At his words I froze. Did I, a strong, independent, princess just push this ugly toad over some stupid comment? "I'm sorry I don't know what came over me, I must really be lacking on sleep." Caspian is laughing as loud as he can. I think his face literally turns red and he is rolling over from how much he keeps laughing. "Well Kitty, if you keep this up I will also restrict your reading. I'd love to see how feisty you get then." I see an evil smirk take over his face and I just retort. "If you take away my books then I will throw myself off this balcony." I say with all seriousness. He just looks at me as if stunned. He clears his throat and just leaves the room. I feel a sense of relief wash over me, did I just win that argument? A small smile reaches my face as I make my way to the bed and quickly fall asleep.
