The.place was known of its abundance of fish due its fishing ground.It had a small islets called Lapinig Island which measured 1000 meters in its circumference Mang Doro always went to the sea for fisjing as his means to earn a living. He had 3 children to fed .Her wife Nang Daddie is just a dressmaker .He had a company's of men to help pulled the fish net to the seashore once the pocket of the fish net was filled with big and small fishes. He had also a.petroleum banker in the sea to watched and.saw the condition of the sea and the fishes. If the fishes was already summoned.of the lighted Petromax there Mang Dodo Bungol would striked its Tambuli which the common people calked.Thete Mang Doro would wake his men to climbed up in the big boat and do start paddling towards where the calling Most likely 30 men will do the pulling of the rope back to the seashore.Upon reaching to the shore the fishes would be measured by gallon if it was small but if it was big it counted by pieces. Then he would brought his share to his family.Since only a small shared of him.The owner who was a.Burmish refugee and a wife of his brother was greedy and will not gave him zn exact cash payment of his share but poor Mang Doro still patient to wait when the cash share be given .But he was not given the right cash. Yet Mang Doro did not became rich for he was do kind. He gave fishes to those who ask called.hilas.But he was happy to help his community people. . .Episode 2 : CHALLENGES Vie grown up as a happy chiild leading her class as honor.pupils.She served her father as an inspiration in her studies. Her father was the one taking care of the things she needed in school. But she was also bullied in school calling her "Doro baling" which mean Kid of Mang Doro the fishing. This misty words often heard in the classrooms in the streets,highway and jn gatherings whuch humiliated here. Her ambition to became an artist vanished for no one supported her. Her voice can not be heard because no one stand besides her dreams People in yhe community think that a dreams was always a dream.They think that Vie would be like a puapeer and drown in poverty. Not knowing that her father was illing.Diagnosed with cancer but in desguised. Her papa az she called.father often protected her in many bullied children in streetsn and corners Vie was 11 when a traggic time.came .In the the midnight of January 25 1975 a strong storm struck Misamis Oriental wherein Balingoan was badly damaged Bridges was carried by the flash floods with .turnido into the sea. Many lived wax vanished together with their houses. Casualties can be seen in the seashore and seas.That typhoon "Undang " slapped the town while.Vie father struggling for life in the hospital of Talisayan,Misamis Oriental . Three days before the typhoon came, Mang Doro was admitted due to his sickness in which her wife do not know about it.He hid the facts and only Nong Ganggjng a best friend of him knows about it. Daddie want to brought her to Cagayan de Oro City where there were available big hospitals and especialuzed doctors but the yime did not permit. Bridges was wash out,no buses and transportation nowhere to be found What a misty life Vie sigh . Lord,help me i will be going to the hospital with 5 kilometers in distance by feet .When Vie arrived there her Papa had almost lifeless. Just a stared from her father not even a word goodbye came out from the mouth.Her father left her in the early age. But she made up to stand .Without a penny on the pocket,no insurances her father left Vie,her mama,her two siblings with empty handed. Her mother cried a lot for she had no one to turn to .She was the only left with her parents whose inheritance was taken by his Uncle. But Ate Ate Chona the niece of father confronted her saying Nang Daddie do not worry the clan has to find means To pay the hospital bills and the burial. But that was not the things Mama Daddie was. She was told by the doctor that Mang Doro would be fine that she gone home on Sunday well and good but what happened that Mang Doro gone home like a lifeless flower . Mang Doro's death was a great obstacle that thistles the family. Everyone in ytown talked about his loss. Everybody in the community gave share to the bills,the mortuary and every pinch to soend.Mayor,Vice Mayor, Councilors and ordinary citizen gave an amount for to share This was essence of 'Bayanihan ' in the Philippines that deeply rooted in the culture. Helping every Filipino in s community ones lived in all walks that met. Mang Doro's relatives would be notified just making a hike or a walk on other town for 25 kolkmeters just informed relatives. Mang Doro's death was sudden that left the scars in many Balingoanon.Being a basketball lagend,the man made Ateneo basketball players down during the Mindanao meet whete he was studying in Mount Carmel High School in Talisayan,Misamis Oriental. was became a history of a legend. He was the playing coach of Balingoan Basketball Team where trophies stand as the living witness of endeavor.During the burial almost most prominent people in the town and nearby witnessed his last adios.Vie do not really understand the meaning of loss life of a loss father. But knew her father gone forever that she has no one to turn to. Episode 3 : THE DWELLINGS After the death of Mang Doro ,Mama Daddie continues sewing dresses and found out that life was do hard. Vie was the eldest of the family,the things she did not do before like pitching water in the water pump,gathering firewood ,cutting woods etc. had been shrug in her shoulder . In her tender age she had to act as a big and able being. Being an errand.you girl in the family for her younger sister was an asmathic.Her youngest brother's was still six years old. Vie dud her part but her mother decided to went to Cafayan De Oro City gor a greener pastures .Leaving the kids to Aunt Lucy the sister of her father who was an indifferent attitude. Epidode 4 : THE FEAR As children ages 11,8 and 6 they had an attitude of being afraid Their mind formulated things that made them frightened liked seeing ghost . Her Aunt worked in HANEL Company as laundry woman. Aunt Lucy worked from 8 AM to 8 PM so Vie being the eldest did the household chores. She waked up early pray to God that mother would come home.Then cooked the food, scrubbed the floor,pitch water fill the 2 big old jars. Lastly sweep the yards after Vie could take a bath with his siblings and its the time to go school. And in the afternoon Vie cooked for them then they study using the old big lamp for were no electricity .Then at 7:30 they slept without Aunt Lucy Vie often frightened because it seems she could saw big eyes in the pillars of the housenso he tried to hide in the blanket while her two siblings was fast asleep.She could not told them for they might panic. She was awake for she would wait Aunt Lucy to come home. She tried to drive down her feelings even in shocking state..And everything would be alright when Aunt Lucy came home. Vie wanted to cried for Aunt Lucy counted all the food they eat for Mama Daddie did not sent any money to buy food for them. She could not understand why her Mama can not sent money for the stuff. And she remembered her Mama told her about the common coconut trees income but it did not made sense for Vie knew nothing . What's on her mind is to study and finished a carrier to became a professional somebody so that a family would be of help.. A year after Mama came home without a penny for her income was borrow by the shop owner and replace no more thus she decided to went home.Her Nana Daddue continue sewing dresses until Vie graduated her elementary as 3rd Outstanding pupil of the years Epusode 5 : PARTCH THE LUCK Trying hard to pursue.her ambition she applied for a CICOFED Sholarship.Vie even in her tender mind did her best .She ganered all the document's needed without her mother knowledge. Took the Scholarship Examination and got the top1 yet Vie out smarted.her cousin who was the Valedictorian then she was only the 1st honorable mentoon thus they conduct the exam again but still Vie got the top 1. Traveling to her new phase of life of being scholar she double her time to study slapping down the Valedictorian but her cousin was rich and Vie was a peasant thus her cousin was being favored that her. Yet she did not those things she just study hard and life became curvy because her Mamz Daddie was fleeing with someone they not know but they can not control her.Its everyone in the town against their odds.But they gave will for them.
