Chapter 20 He Is My Idol

1002 Words
Norman apologized to his fans, saying he had an emergency. In order to protect his burgeoning live streaming business, he had to find out who was behind it. Norman calls Emma on the phone. "I was just about to call you!" Emma spoke before Norman. "Have you offended anyone?" Since Norman started doing live streaming, she followed his every show. This was the way she loved Norman. She also witnessed the verbal battle in today's live set. She was about to contact Norman when he called in. "I haven't offended anyone lately. Maybe Adam?" "Adam Pitt?" "I’m not sure."  Norman wasn't sure if it was him. He didn't rule out the possibility. "Leave it to me. If he's the one who is making trouble, I'll make him sorry about it! " Emma felt sick at the thought of Adam's ingratiating face. There was more than a sliver of a gap between their two families’ business. The Stewarts operated the leading enterprise of Boston, and its sphere of influence involved more than half of the business circle of Boston.   The Pitts run a jewelry business, and despite the money, its source and channel of the goods still depended on the Stewarts. As the eldest son in the family, Adam was born handsome and was cultivated by his father since he was young. When he grew up, his father placed great hopes on him. "Adam, if you bring Emma Stewart home as your wife, I'll give you the chairmanship of the company. Don't let me down!" That was what Adam's father taught him all along. The Stewarts is so powerful that Adam's father dreams of riding on their coattails. Adam was handsome and rich, and he was able to charm thousands of girls wherever he went from childhood to adulthood. He was a womanizer who changed girlfriends faster than he changed his clothes. When Adam was 18 and accompanied his father to visit the Stewarts, he met Emma. The moment he saw Emma, he finally knew what a fairy was like. Emma was not only pretty, but she also had an outstanding individuality, unlike any other girls Adam has met before. Instead of being attracted by Adam's beautiful face, she just ignored him. This successfully aroused Adam's curiosity and competitive desire. Adam decided to chase Emma down and prove his strength to his father. Two years passed and Adam still didn't succeed. Emma didn’t give a s**t on him. Instead, she was attracted to his arch-rival, Norman. Damn it! He was now afraid to voice out their discontent. He put up with it really hard.  Unreconciled, he lingered in front of the Copley Hotel where Emma often came every day. He hoped for a chance to run into his crush. It wasn't hard for Emma to find him. She started the car and the red Ferrari zoomed out of sight, heading in the direction of the Copley Hotel. As soon as she got there, she saw Adam with two bodyguards sitting in the cafe outside the hotel. Emma caught Adam's eye as soon as she got out of the car. When Adam saw her coming, he immediately got up and nervously arranged his clothes. He hurried over to Emma.   Unexpectedly, Emma was walking in his direction. For the first time, Emma didn't ignore him. Did his efforts bear fruit at last? His heart trembled uncontrollably. "Adam, I have a question for you." Emma didn't have time to talk nonsense to him. She got straight to the point. "Ask me anything! " He pulled the chair in front of him gallantly. "Come on, have a seat. Would you like some coffee?" He directed the bodyguard behind him to buy coffee.     "I'm not here for coffee." Emma looked at him angrily. "Did you send someone to make trouble in Masked Singer’s live set?" Adam was so balled up because he didn't know anything about what Emma asked. "Masked Singer? Who is he? " "I don't know him at all!" "Live set?" "I'm waiting for you here every day. I don't have time for Masked Singer." "Besides, I have nothing against him. Why should I bother?" "You really misunderstood me," Adam explained quickly. Emma scanned him. It seemed that he didn't know. "It wasn't me! I swear." Convinced it wasn't him, Emma prepared to leave. "Would you like a cup of coffee? I've been waiting for you for so many days." "No, thanks. " "All right. But you have to tell me who the Masked Singer is." Well, maybe he could promote it for Norman. Thinking of this, Emma, who had planned to walk, stopped and sat down on the chair. "This Masked Singer is my idol," Emma said, "he's a good singer, and I won't let anyone bully him. Anyone will regret opposing him. " "Your idol is my idol. Hey, you guys, get out your phones and follow this Masked Singer." Adam also pulled out his phone and became one of Norman's fans. He had no idea that his former nemesis now became his idol. He put down his phone and looked at Emma with a grin. It was the first time he had had such close contact with Emma.   It did not occur to him that her skin was smoother and more flawless than it looked from a distance. "I gotta go." Emma gave Adam another look. "If someone makes trouble in my idol’s live set, you'd stand up, wouldn't you? " Emma is finally willing to look at him, not to mention how happy he is. "Absolutely! You have my word! " Adam assured her with a pat on the chest. With Adam watching, Emma left. All the way back she wondered who the backstabber could be if it wasn't Adam. She had to find Norman and tell him about it. If it wasn't Adam, it must have been someone else. They'll have to hunt him down. Emma had a low tolerance for it.
