Alisa pov
“She did say to me she’s exactly where she’s supposed to be when she first got here. Maybe we were supposed to help her reconnect with her lost daughter” Cam pondered
“I think you're right. I can’t believe all the s**t Chloe has been through and it just keeps on coming. Have you seen my bracelet and please could you pass me the hair dryer?”
“Here you go my love and no I’ve not seen the bracelet I’m sure it will turn up. I’m going to go check on Alex and Chloe. My Mom is pissed I’m still in here with you.” I chuckled he was this big and strong Alpha, not afraid of anyone or anything but his mother terrified him.
“Don’t laugh at me my love, you wound me.” He placed his hand over his heart and pouted making me laugh harder.
“CAMERON WOODS GET OUT OF HERE NOW!” Faye barged in and shouted. Behind her was my Mum, aunt June, Sam, violet and Jordyn. My entourage to help me get ready for tonight.
He held his hands up in defence.
“I’m going, I’m going…. I will see you later my love,” he kissed me on the forehead and walked out. A Luna ceremony is very traditional, much like a wedding. We have traditions that we keep and the Alpha not seeing the Luna getting ready is one of them. I’m not sure who came up with it but it’s how it is all over the world.
“Chloe is spending some time with Katrina, can you believe that s**t!” Jordyn said.
“Watch that mouth young lady!” Faye scowled at her.
“Sorry Luna” she blushed and flopped down onto the bed. Sam went and flopped next to her.
“So dear, where’s the dress?” Aunt June said. I pointed to the closet and she walked in.
“Lilly can you believe your baby and my baby, MATES”
“It’s fantastic. You always did say we would be family.” My Mum and Faye have been friends forever, they were like me and Sam and even though my mum had found my dad and was madly in love it broke her heart to leave Faye, uncle David and aunt June.
“Ok let’s get this party started.” Violet said waving some champagne in the air.
“Good idea darling” Faye took the bottle from her and popped it open. The champagne flew out the top and she got to filling up glasses.
KNOCK KNOCK
“Come in!” I shouted confused. I wasn’t expecting anyone else.
“The grape juice you asked for,” an omega who worked in the pack house said. I was confused because I hadn’t asked for grape juice.
“Thank you Alice.” Faye walked over and took the grape juice from her.
“My daughter thinks she is drinking champagne whilst carrying my grand-baby.” Faye laughed making Alice laugh.
“Enjoy Luna Faye.” She bowed her head slightly.
“It’s just Faye. This young lady over here will be Luna tonight.”
6 hours. 6 bloody hours spent being waxed, scrubbed, hair pulled (Sam is such a b***h) primed and pruned and now I was finally ready. Jordyn and Sam helped me get into my dress and everyone was now waiting for me at the back of the pack house. The stage was set and waiting for me.
Butterflies in my stomach is an understatement. It’s like a tornado is wreaking havoc in there.
I walk down the stairs to see Alex waiting for me, everyone dresses up at Luna ceremonies, we’re having a ball after it. Alex has a tux on and he looks so dashing.
“You look beautiful, Lis, I’m so proud of you, you know that right?”
“Thank you Alex, you don’t look too bad yourself and I know I’m proud of you too.” He held his arm out and I linked my arm through it, we walked through the pack house and to the back yard. Everyone was here, all eyes turned to me and my stomach dropped. I have never had this much attention on me before.
“It’s ok Lis, just breath” Alex cooed to me.
I took a deep breath in and let it out slowly. We walked forward and stood at the front of the crowd, was Cam. He looked so sexy in his tux, I couldn’t wait to get him out of it.
*My Luna, if you keep thinking like that we won’t make it past the ceremony*
*Don’t make threats you don’t intend to keep Alpha* he chuckled into my mind.
With Cam in front of me my fears dissolved, all I saw was the man in front of me, no one else was around it was just us. He took my hand from Alex and walked me up to the stage. His eyes never left me. When we reached the centre of the stage he turned me around so I was facing the pack.
“Thank you all for coming. Tonight Dark Moon gets its Luna!” Cheers rang out.
“Alisa are you ready?” I nod my head at him. An elder steps forward, an elder is someone who makes sure a pack runs smoothly and everyone is treated fairly, they also make sure we abide by the laws set in place.
“Alisa. Do you swear to be loyal to your mate and Alpha?”
“I swear on my honour.”
He placed a hand on top of my head.
“Do you swear to protect your pack and listen to its members. Guide them and help them when needed?”
“I swear on my honour.”
He moved his hand to my chest over my heart, Cam growled and the elder shot him a death glare.
“Do you swear to love your Alpha and pack as their Luna. To put their needs before your own?”
“I swear on my honour”
He picked up a dagger, it was gold and the hilt was encrusted with jewels, Cam stepped next to me and held his hand out, the elder sliced across his palm then took my hand and did the same.
“Please join hands” Cam placed his hand in mine and the elder wrapped a silk tie around our entwined hands.
“Dark Moon pack welcome your Luna!” As soon as he announced me as Luna I was flooded with people talking into my head with congratulations, my connection to the pack was finally complete. The elder turned to me.
“Congratulations Luna Alisa, we will have the shift when the moon is at its fullest”
“Thank you” I replied to him
The pack clapped, screamed and whistled at us, I looked around and saw my mum wiping her eyes and my father with a face full of pride beaming at me.
“My Luna. I think you have something on your face that needs immediate attention.” Cam whispered into my ear, running his hand lightly down my back tickling my skin, sending sparks through my body and a promise I intended for him to keep.
“Excuse me everyone. I need the ladies room.” I excused myself and walked away.
