Cam POV
Alisa stormed off the training field muttering to herself. She was cute when she was mad. When I saw her standing there in just a bra and leggings, I nearly lost it altogether. I was overcome with lust. At that moment, all I could think about was her body and all the things I wanted to do with it and fücking Malcolm took advantage of my distraction and punched me right across the jaw. He’s got a mean right hook. That’s for sure I’m glad he’s on my side.
I couldn’t have her walking around like that. Men would be drooling all over her, trying to touch her, and picturing her sexually, but I couldn’t have that.
She’s mine.
No one else has the right to look at what is mine. After nursing my bruised ego and bruised chin, I went up to my office to get some work done. Having a pack as big as mine took a lot of money, my family owned a chain of luxury hotels and when I took over as Alpha, I took over the family business.
Alex and Mason both worked for me to help me run both the pack and businesses, as well as other members of the pack. I employed quite a few of the pack as well, either at the hotel or at the pack house helping with maintaining it and helping it run smoothly. As I was walking through the pack house, the most horrendous noise known to man pierced my ears.
“Baby, I missed you so much!” Leah screeched.
For fück’s sake, just what I needed. At least I can get one thing off my to-do list today.
“Leah, we need to talk.”
I was a little harsh in my tone, but I needed her to know I was serious.
“I don’t want to talk.”
Her voice was high and seductive, but it did nothing for me. She ran her hand up my chest, making my skin crawl at her touch.
“STOP!”
I grabbed her hand so she wasn’t touching me anymore. Her eyes flashed with fury and her smile became tight. I’m gonna need a stiff drink after dealing with her.
“Leah, please can you come to my office?”
She stomped off down the hall towards my office. The sound of her heels clicking on the tile floor echoed behind her. She stopped by the door, tapping her foot on the floor with her arms crossed in front of her chest. I walked over and opened the door. She didn’t move so I had to squeeze past her. She followed me inside huffing loudly. I walked around my desk and sat down, motioning for her to take the seat in front of me.
“Cam, what’s going on?”
Her voice was like nails being raked down a chalkboard.
“Leah, it’s over between us. I’m sorry, but it just isn’t working out anymore and you deserve someone who will appreciate you…the way you deserve.”
The least I could do was be nice to her, I mean it was only a few days ago that we were together.
“What! What do you mean, it’s over? You can’t do this to me. To us. I’ve given you my undivided attention for the last six months and you just think you can walk away. Is there someone else? … There is, isn’t there? Who is she? Tell me who it is, Cam. Now!” She was screaming at me now and my sensitive ears didn’t appreciate the noise.
“Leah, it just isn’t working anymore, ok. It’s not you, it's me.”
She sat looking at me, dumbfounded.
“Did you really just give me the it’s not you it’s me line? Really?” She stood up and slammed her hand down on my desk.
“Fück you Cam and whoever the little bítch is.”
She stood up, pushing the chair back and stormed out of my office, pushing past Mason and Alex on the way out.
.
20 minutes later…
“Oh man, that's priceless.” Mason laughed.
He was holding his stomach and was bending over. He was in hysterics.
“I can’t believe you used that line on her.”
Alex couldn’t stop laughing either.
“Ok, if you two have finished laughing at me, how about we get back to business!”
Hopefully, a change of subject will stop them from laughing at my misery.
“Ok in all seriousness, we have a problem! A group of teenage girls went missing last night.” Alex informed me.
“Shít really? Ok, what’s the plan?” Mason asked.
People have been going missing lately in the local town, usually only one person at a time but now a group of people. This was getting worse. Usually, we wouldn’t bother with the human problems. That has nothing to do with us. We make sure we keep our world separate from theirs. But I have a warrior who works at the local police department. That way he can keep an eye on things and if anything supernatural happens, he can let us know and we can act before anyone finds out. It was him that let us know about the missing people. Whilst investigating, they came upon some evidence that mentioned The Dark Moon pack, so now it directly involved us and we had to help stop whoever was doing this.
“How many girls got taken this time? And why is it only girls?”
I looked over at both of them.
“Maybe witches?” Mason said.
“Hmmm maybe. Alex, do we know any witches we can reach out to and see if they can help us out?”
He sat thinking for a moment.
“You know what, I have a contact that’s into all that type of shít, I’ll shoot him a text and see if he can help.”
“Well, looks like we have a plan. I’ll see you two later.”
I went to reach for some of the paperwork on my desk so I could start sorting out the pack work for today. I didn’t want to leave the pack territory with Alisa being here, and I can work from here so I can catch up on everything and know she is safe.
“Actually, do you mind if I have a word with you before I go?” Alex asked.
“Sure, what’s up?”
“What’s going on with you and my cousin?”
