Chapter 3••Welcoming

Alisa pov I slept pretty much most of the flight, but was relieved to finally get off and stretch my legs and back. 17 hours in total I had been traveling for. Never again will I take a flight with a layover. As I walked out toward the arrival area to collect my luggage, my uncle and aunt were standing waiting for me. They had a large sign with my name on it. Aunt June was holding it up high so everyone could see, and I couldn't help the ear-splitting smile. I’d left one home and come to another just as loving. My uncle was my mother’s brother. She met my dad while she was traveling and moved to the UK with him and became a member of his pack. The Nightwalkers pack. When you meet your mate, the world starts and ends with them and it was the same for my mother and father. The way they look at each other is like the other one holds the world in their hands, such love and devotion. I only hoped when I finally got to meet my mate he would look at me the same way my father looked at my mother. At one point I thought it might have been Wes, but when he turned 18 last month, his wolf was silent. When you meet your mate, your wolf will let you know. It’s like a klaxon going off inside your head. I was so relieved to find I wasn’t his, that’s why it confused me the way he was still acting with me. He had his mate out there waiting to find her, and he was acting like I was his. I felt sorry for her. He's such a selfish díck. “Welcome to your new home my little princess.” My Aunt June squealed. “Thank you, Aunt June. Thank you for having me as well.” “Don’t be silly, you’re family. I wouldn't have you stay anywhere else. Plus, it will be nice for some more female company. I'm surrounded by men. I'll be glad of the backup.” I couldn’t help laughing at her. She was so animated when she spoke, her face always letting me know how she was feeling. Aunt June was so beautiful with her dark brown hair and deep brown eyes, she wasn’t as tall as me she came to my shoulder and her skin was a lovely creamy color, she used to be a warrior for her pack so she is fierce and not afraid of anything or anyone, but I’ve never known anyone other than my mother sweeter than her. “Come on Pumpkin, come give your old uncle a hug. I’ve missed you.” My uncle David was still a very handsome man. He looked more like Alex and myself with light brown hair and emerald green eyes, the same eyes that my mother also had. A family trait. He was much taller than myself and my aunt. He towered over most of the humans at the airport. Some of the looks he got from passersby were quite funny. He had a scar above his left eyebrow that went across his forehead. It was a battle scar from his glory days, but still it didn’t take anything away from his looks, it just added to them. “We got your room all set up for you but you can change it if you want,” Aunt June told me whilst grabbing my hand luggage from me. “I’ll take that Flower.” Uncle David said and took my bag from his wife. “I need to go grab my suitcase,” “No need. I got them for you.” Alex’s voice came from behind me. Alex was the oldest of my aunt and uncle's children. He was the same height as uncle David and his green eyes held a twinkle in them that I hope never disappeared. He was extremely good looking and was getting a lot of lustrous looks from women and even some of the men passing by. “Alex!” I squealed while jumping up into a big bear hug from him. “You look good Alisa, you were this big when I last saw you,” he smiled widely while bending, holding his hand to his knee to indicate how big I was. “Hahaha, very funny. I wasn’t that small.” I rolled my eyes at him. “You shot up. You're almost as tall as me.” It was true I was more on the wimpy looking side of things when I was younger, but now I was 5’11 and had curves in all the right places. “Come on, let's get you back home so you can meet everyone. I've got a date with a beautiful woman later and need to get ready.” “Alex, I wish you would stop dating these girls and wait for your mate.” Aunt June chided him. “Mom, I’m not doing anything any of the other guys don’t do. When it’s time, I’ll meet my mate and settle down, but for now I’m enjoying myself.” “Come on Flower, leave the boy alone. If this is how he chooses to live, we can’t stop him. He’s old enough and ugly enough to look after himself.” Uncle David said, trying to calm his wife. Uncle David was the former gamma of their pack and a good one too. Alex had big shoes to fill, but I think he will exceed his father and do great things for his pack. Driving to my new home was filled with laughter and reminiscing about old times of when we would visit here and them visiting the UK. The pack my family belonged to was called the Dark Moon pack, they were renowned for their strength, even back in the UK we knew all about the famous Alpha Cameron, he had taken over the pack 4 years ago and the pack had flourished under his leadership, he had a reputation as a tough but fair leader. The Dark Moon was my mum's original pack before she met my dad and joined the Nightwalkers pack so it was like being at my second home. As we got closer to the pack territory, the city life began to fade away and more and more trees started to replace the buildings. Being in a wolf pack meant we needed more freedom to run in our wolf forms, so most packs had land which had forests or mountains and were always away from civilization so we could be one with our wolves. “Gamma David, Gamma June, and Gamma Alex. It's good to see you this evening and welcome miss,” A young man with kind blue eyes said as we approached the territory’s gate. It was a huge double metal gate with tall walls running around the perimeter of the territory, very well protected. “Good evening Shaun, this is my cousin Alisa. She will be staying with us for the foreseeable future.” Alex told Shaun. He smiled at me through the window. Shaun had long brown hair, he had it in a man bun but he really suited it. He had a beard that looked well-groomed and was very easy on the eye. “Well welcome Alisa. I look forward to getting to know you.” “You will keep away from my niece, young man, or you will have me to deal with!” Uncle David coldly stated. “Sorry sir, I can’t resist a pretty face,” he smiled at me again and winked, making me blush. “Well, enough chit chat. We need to get you settled in Dear.” Aunt June cut in and uncle David motioned for Shaun to open the gates for us to enter. The gates smoothly opened as we went through. A road ran down to the village further in the distance. I could only just make it out. All along the road were large trees on either side of the road. It was amazing. I couldn't wait to go and explore. It had been at least 10 years since I had been here. “We will get to the pack member’s houses soon. The village is not far now and we will show you around once you settle in. Does that sound ok with you?” Aunt June asked. “That sounds great. I can’t wait to go explore” “You might need some help to begin with because the territory is much larger now. It's changed a lot over the years and I don’t want you getting lost. Alex, can you maybe get someone to help show your cousin round?” Uncle David asked. “Sure can. How about I show you around tomorrow? I can ask Cam for the day off. He won’t mind.” Alex not only helped run the pack with the Alpha, but worked for his company. “When do I get to meet Alpha Cameron again?” I asked, secretly hoping it would be tonight. “Maybe tomorrow he’s away tonight on” cough “personal matters,” Alex replied. I sit back in my seat and look out of the window. I can’t even imagine what Alpha Cameron looks like now that he has grown from a boy to a man. Oh well, a girl can dream. “Has he changed much since becoming Alpha? He was always so funny and goofy when I used to visit.” “He’s still goofy. Just don’t tell him I said that.” Alex laughed, making me laugh with him.
