"Who.. are you?" Ezra said after she finally opened her eyes. Her eyes were focused on Axel, frowning with an unfamiliar gaze.
He backed away a little, feeling his blood run cold. He held her hands tighter and close to him.
"It's me.. look at me. It's me," he said, panicking a little at her unchanging expression. She stared at him for a while before looking a little away and shutting her eyes. Axel knew he couldn't let her forget, not after what he had heard from the doctor.
She could lose her memory, all of it. She couldn't turn back into a black slate with no memories of people. As much as it'd be nice because her bad memories had always been overpowered. If that happens, not only will those terrible memories but even all her memories with Axel will fade away.
