Chapter One
"You know I'm better than you at this right", a blonde haired lady stated as a matter of fact.
"Sarah, I'm aware you've defeated me countless times when it comes to hunting for meat but this time it's different because I was kissed by an angel yesterday night", the slim handsome boy bragged.
Sarah gave a mocking laugh as she tried to hold herself from falling.
Dave stood to look at his sister who was laughing at him, he got to admit that his twin sister was really beautiful even if he would never say it to her. She was pretty tall, and had a killer body shape.
"Who did you manage to deceive last night?, if I'm remembering correctly, the last girl you had was a hundred years ago and she so happened to be a succubus who wanted to eat your heart", Sarah said amid chuckles.
Dave's face darkened as he recalled his experience.
"That's really something I don't want to remember ", he commented while standing up.
Dave walked to the top of the mountain as he took in the sight before him.
Exi mountains was one of the most beautiful places in the mystical 20th century Atlantis.
It had six peaks with five jointly forming a pentagon-like shape around the highest peak and each. It had really dense forest that intertwined around each mountain giving it an eerie view. From the top to half of the mountains were covered in snow but below had a greenery pictorial. It also had the beautiful aurora lights in the sky and coupled with the beautiful lakes, rivers and waterfalls, the Exi was really stunning.
"I'll take east and you can take west, we would meet at the waterfall that joins the river going west, how about that?" Dave suggested.
Sarah eyed him before commenting.
"That would be cheating because you'll get to cover more ground and that means more prey, but it's okay, I agree.
Sarah took her wolf form and shot into the woods.
The forest was extremely thick and it was difficult for the light coming from the night sky and the full moon to brighten the path along the forest but it wasn't too difficult for Sarah to find her way.
Sarah crouched down scanning as she heard a very weak footstep approaching her, she could also smell blood coming from the person's position.
While waiting, an old woman came into Sarah's sight and she was dragging a dead antelope with her. She stood up from where she was and approached the woman to help her.
***************************************
"Thank you so much… "
"Sarah", she helped.
"Sarah ", the woman smiled, recalling her name.
"And what should I call you ma?" Sarah asked.
The woman thought for a while before smiling and said,
"What would you call a person that says you're born to be someone special but you're too weak?"
Sarah looked at her as the woman till maintained her smile before commenting.
"I'll say you're strange, because words like this are only said by the Guardian but you don't look to me like one".
"The Guardian ugh, and I don't look like one, " the old woman muttered to herself.
Sarah could see a slight look of disappointment in her eyes but she didn't know if she was disappointed with herself or with her for failing to recognize her.
The woman looked at her and for the first time since they met, Sarah could see seriousness in her eyes.
"You have the fate of a mate and you must do everything to stay alive because being alive is the only thing that would ensure the survival of your pack".
Sarah frowned upon hearing the woman's words.
"Was she hinting that the park wouldn't be safe?, but that shouldn't be the case right", Sarah thought to herself.
Sarah gave her a faint smile after which she bid her goodbye.
She didn't end up with a catch and she knew her brother would make fun of her on his own after so many tries.
Sarah surprisingly saw her brother running towards him. She felt like he was being chased or rather, he was running away from something .
She quickly climbed up to a tree trying to find out what exactly was going on. While she was up the tree, though trees covered everything, she could still make out the silhouette of her brother who was moving quickly towards her position but she couldn't see what he was running from. As he drew closer to her, she swiftly made her way down and just as her brother came close to her, she swept him off the ground and carried him back to the top of the tree.
She studied him and inspected his body and discovered he wasn't injured, she waited for him to catch his breath before probing him.
"Scott… Scott…", Dave stammered, he sounded like someone who couldn't believe what he saw.
"What are you trying to say?", Sarah calmly asked.
Dave took a deep breath before speaking up.
"I saw the park's alpha, Scott, and he was bleeding", Dave said as he trembled to his words.
"He is not supposed to bleed that much right?"
He is an alpha and he was supposed to heal himself right?", he continued to question aloud.
Sarah just couldn't understand what exactly Dave saw that would make him react this way. She was wondering if the park's alpha was in danger but that shouldn't be the case because the only person that could stand a chance against him in a fight was Derek.
Sarah waited for him to relax before she asked him again.
"What's happening out there Dave? "
"I think the park is under attack", Dave muttered, not believing his words.
"s**t", she cursed in response.
"Hurry back and alert the park, I'll be right behind you", she said racing towards the woman's home.
Before Dave could react, she was already out of his sight.
"What exactly is wrong with that being?," Dave wondered.
He thought of something before raising his brows and shouting.
"s**t, I totally forgot the meat I caught,.... wait a minute, I didn't see her with any, doesn't that mean I won the bet?", he asked inwardly.
"What are you smiling at, when you fled for your life leaving that precious meat behind ", he sneered at himself.
