Travelling all day was not as easy as Aden had thought, his back was beginning to ache and they still had 2hours to get to their destination, Tega noticed his discomfort and offered to help not just because she wanted to help but because she has always wanted to drive a convertible, he doesn't let anyone drive his convertible, it is his favourite car, he wanted to say no but he saw the eagerness on her face and he couldn't bring himself to disappoint her. she drove perfectly well and they chatted like old friends, Tega told Aden about her childhood here, she was raised by her dad, her mum passed away when she was five so she got used to being in the company of boys than girls, she told him how her dad started the bed and breastfast when she was about going to college, he said he couldn't just keep the house empty and he certainly could used the company and work, doesn't want to become a loner after his retirement. Aden told her of his own childhood, something he rarely does, he has never told anyone more than two sentences about his childhood but here he was telling her willingly, he told her how they lived in Houston before now, his mama moved to Oklahoma about 4years ago and he has only been there once to see her. Time moved so fast and they covered lots of distance while chatting they got into town at 21:00pm and Tega saw her dad by the road side, she was so excited she didn't even look ahead to see where she was driving, it all happened so fast, the car skidded off the road hitting an electric pole, luckily the pole didn't fall on them but the car got deformed and Aden's good manner flew out of the car window to the dustbin, he called her a fool and told her she was just like the other stupid girls and he never should have allowed her drive his car. by the time he was done with his insults, she was fuming with anger, she apologised for trashing his car and offer to pay for repair but he told her she has done enough already so she should just get her things and leave. she looked at him straight in the eyes and told him to learn what is important in life, that materials and properties are just that but the relationship we form is what speaks for us even after we're no more, she quietly walked away and all the people gathering around to see what was going on left one after the other, most people gossiping among themselves.
