Ciao

Dean ran forward before he could completely figure out what was happening .

As he moved , running forward, all he could hear was the rumbling that sounded so close to his ear .

Everything was a blur as he ran faster than he had ever done .

He would never have anyone die on him ,not ever again .

Not May , not Blade or Jade and most especially not Jaymie .

He grabbed May and jumped away just as an explosion shook the wall , crumbling it .

The momentum from his jump coupled with the blast of the explosion from the golem threw he and May further away .

Dean fell with his body covering May and pushed himself off her to lay down , conscious but completely drained .

There was no way he was moving again , but the dust from the collapsed wall was tickling his nose , making it hard for him to remain in one position .

He opened his eyes and began to cough in the midst of the rubble that surrounded them , he covered his nose and mouth and slowly pushed himself to a sitting position .

His whole body hurt like he was being pounded and his head belonged to someone else , all he could hear was a distant ringing and if he focused enough he could see twinkling stars .

Dean looked around , searching for an anchor to hold on to when he noticed May .

She lay still with dust patterns on her face , hair and clothes , she was too still .

He moved forward and nudged her .

" May ? "

His mouth was so dry.

She opened her eyes slowly and looked around .

" I'm not dead ? "

Dean flinched as her loud voice cut into his already pounding head .

He tried to get his mouth to move and finally succeeded .

" Stop yelling ".

May pushed herself up and looked around , she crawled closer to Dean .

" What do you mean yelling ? I'm talking completely normally ".

Dean blinked , she was still yelling , her words forcing their way into his ears and head .

May took a closer look at Dean and gasped softly just as something caught Dean's eyes .

The golem was abnormal , at least in comparison to the other golems they had been seeing .

This one had a normal mechanical eye and was twice the size of the usual golems , it was built stocky like an armored tank , that was why it had taken so long to reach them , it was too big to move normally or as fast as the others but, it had rounded the corner and now stood on the street with them .

Blade and Jade stood between the armored golem and May and Dean .

Blade had his rifle up and pointed to the armored golem's head , he was shooting like crazy while Jade was facing backwards , his eyes on Dean and May .

He looked more worried for them than for himself when he was the one that was almost into the mouth of the golem .

" We need to help them ".

Dean pushed himself off the ground and staggered , falling into May's open arms .

" How are you going to help them if you can't hold your ground ? "

Dean shook his head and pushed himself off her , this golem was different from the others that they had fought , there was a relatively high chance that it would kill them .

Dean looked around for his gun and found it lying a few feet away , he moved slowly to pick it and returned it to his vest .

He pulled out the bow and fixed an arrow in the hatch.

" We need to surround it with as much fire as possible , that is the only way to hold it from launching another RPG at us ".

Dean jogged forward , forcing the pain in his head to mellow so he could focus .

He stood still when he was close enough , struggling to maintain focus on the golem's eye before shooting .

The arrow flew in the air and bounced off the golems eye , just like Dean had thought , this golem's eyes were different from the others .

It was trying to lift it's arm to reset it's weapon but Blade had gotten the flow of it and shot at each arm the moment it began to move .

But , that would not last forever , Blade's clip would soon be empty and it was more than enough time to pour enough bullets Into them that would in turn leave them as unrecognizable corpses .

Dean moved close enough to Jade and pushed the gun into his hands , Jade moved backwards , letting the gun fall .

" Take it and shoot if you want to live ".

Dean turned around to where May still sat on the floor , dazed by the golem .

" May !!! "

She looked up slowly and Dean made a slow shooting gesture that ended with an explosion .

May nodded and stood up , stumbling as she did .

Dean turned around and ran forward to Blade , Who was shooting like his life depended on it .

His life actually did depend on it .

" How much longer do you think you could go for ? "

Dean yelled because the noise from the golem , the shooting and his head was deafening to him alone .

" As long as I want to stay alive ".

Dean did not understand Blade's answer so he just put his hand into Blade's vest and pulled out two grenades and ran off .

He heard his name a couple of times but he did not pay attention to that .

He ran into the tree grove that surrounded the church and began to run between the trees , looking for the tree closest to the street and inadvertently , the armored golem .

Climbing trees was second nature to Dean , his mum had taught him how to and they had spent a lot of their times climbing strange trees while his dad cooked with wood and coal and coughed through out it .

Dean found the perfect tree , an American elm tree , he rushed forward and wrapped his arms around the trunk .

He had not climbed a tree since Jaymie had been born and his mum had decided to live in a normal house and put the Bohemian lifestyle partially behind her.

He began to climb the tree , the knowledge slipping in like he had never stopped climbing trees .

He was on the first branch and moving to the next in a few moments , he jumped from branch to branch, the thrill of the height filling him with enough endorphins that he did not feel the pain from the scratches the tree was giving and the pain that had laced his sight and hearing earlier .

Dean reached the top of the tree and looked down , Blade was no longer shooting , Jade and May had taken up the shooting , running around as they did to confuse the golem from noticing that Blade was moving close to it's legs with grenades in each of his hands .

Dean climbed to the highest branch and slowly straightened from his crouch .

The wind from so high up was wonderful , slapping him softly .

Dean and his mum had loved heights , every city they stayed , they had tried out all of the extreme sports they had to offer .

Bungee jumping , paragliding , parachuting and even abseiling , they had done it all .

This would just be like bungee jumping.

Dean took out two arrows in both hands and jumped into the air , his arrows poised for landing .

He was only in the air for a moment before he was falling , down the Golem's head .

Dean stabbed through the Golem's chest and the arrows went through , stopping before he could reach the core .

Dean rested a while before he began to climb up to the shoulders .

The golem looked down as Dean climbed on to it's shoulder blades ,Dean smiled softly and pulled out the grenades from his kevlar vest .

He put the two grenades in his mouth and pulled out their pins before stuffing them down the openings in the golems neck .

" Ciao ".

He greeted before sliding down the golems arms in a hurry .

He did not have to wait long , the explosion rocked the golem and Dean could have sworn that his brain was dancing in his head .

The explosion flung him off the golem and thick smoke surrounded the golem as it went down .

Dean struggled to keep his eyes open , making sure the golem went down before he did .
