Something about Alex

My alarm went off for the forth time before I hit the snooze button,I pushed my study papers off my lap which has spent the night with me . Raking a hand through my hair I let my eyes adjust to the light shining through my blinds . "Alex breakfast" mom shouts from my door. "Coming " I walk to my closet and pull a shirt over my head before I rush down the stairs.  Mom is alone which means my dad is already left for the church. "Alex have should eat before its to late and maybe grab a shower " mom says smiling gently at me . Linda Sanders was a simple woman blonde hair and blue eyes that held warmth . I grabbed some bacon and eggs eating hastily as I checked the time ,when im finished and mom has updated me about the new prayer group my father is hosting whicb ofcourse I pretend to listen to , I shower and change into geans and a blue teashirtt combing my blonde curls quickly before im done. "Bye mom" I shout throwing my books into my schoolbag "Honey dont forget your father wants you to attend the group tonight" my mother says "Yes mother " "Have a blessed day" she smiles I smile back meekly . Mondays were always my favrioute it meant getting away for a few hours . Away from my father and his constant religious babble . I notice a moving truck when I head down the steps, there was hadly ever new people in town.  Lost in though I heard wheels turning and suddenly i felt myself falling backwards. "s**t!" A deep vioce says I blink looking up at the sky "Sorry my board got away from me" I blink again my eyes staring up into deep dark eyes . A boy maybe around my age 18 .His tall and from my view  muscular.  His skin is sunkissed and his jawline is what girls would call godlike . He regards me with amusement and I notice myself staring . s**t.  His a guy Alex . "Could you help " I say lifting my hand . "Oh right" he grins pulling me effortlessly to my feet . I look back at the blakc skateboard and back at him "sorry about that,not exactly a great first impression " he grins again and my stomich feels warm I blink unsure what to say or think . Why am I staring.  His eyes are so dark almost like chocolate framed by dark lashes . "I'm Seth" he says brushing past me to pick up his board the connection leaves a tingle of head agianst my shoulder . " Alex " I say extending my hand . He seems to be enjoying some joke that im not aware of because he smirks. "Looks like were neighbours" he says c*****g his head to the side. "Ah well um welcome to the neighborhood " well I sounded like a dumb ass . "So i guess Il be seeing you in school " Shit. School! " I'm late " I say "I have to go but it was ah nice meeting you" "See you later neighbour " he shouts after me it sounds like a challenge. When I get to school Bayley my best friend is seated at the back of the cmass her bag holding a place for me ,she peeks up a smile spreading across her face her red curls are pulled back revealing her big green eyes. "Hey Al your late" she whispers when I sit down. " I overslept" I admitted . Pursing her lips "so did you hear there is a new guy starting tommorow " Yes his my neighbour.  "Nope" "Well its about time .this school needa fresh meat" Bayley says winking at me . The rest of the day is a blur of classes and when I walk home I dont feel as defeated as usaul . Why do I feem exited? Turning onto my pavement I look at the house next door . There are no curtians yet . I wonder if seth is home.  Stop it! What are you thinking Alex . I storm towards the front door heading straight to my room and throwing myself on my bed.  The benefit to having a room upstairs was that I was left alone up here . I stand up fromy my bed and go to the window looking straight into Seth's house. And to my surprise I find him walking into view his shirtless raking his hands through his dark hair . His body is toned and tanned, he looks strong.  My heart is beating so loudly I lick my lips my eyes unable to look away when he slips his pants off and stands only in his underwear . His back is now facing me . His so perfectly sculpted . There was no dought girls at school would be all over him.  The concept made me sad. As if sensing me Seth turns his eyes looking straight into mine .I remain frozen blue eyes looking into dark but his reaction is anything but expected he smiles not a simple smile but a smile that says he knows something.  A smile that says I challange you but to what? I quickly pull my blinds closed my heart racing.  What was I diong?  Why was I staring at a guy? And why the hell did he seem happy about it ? Chapter 2 By Cheryl Orr I dreamt of dark eyes roaming me,soft lips making their way down my chest ,nibbling and sucking at my skin .. I woke up my eyes flinging open.  s**t! Did I just? I stare down at my pants heat spreading across my cheeks . The alarm says 7.30 and I knkw I wont be able to sleep again . I decide to shower my body is tingling ,I feel exited. This is something I've never experienced before . Was I turned on by Seth? Could I be loosing my mind? My father would say it was the devil hard at work . By 8 am I'm dressed and I've eaten . My mom's watching me over her k****e"Alex" she says my name with a smile . "Yeah" I quirk a brow at her. " are you exited to see someone" busted . I shake my head . My mother knew I was dating Samatha Burns . The most popular girl in school but it was more casual than anything else . Samantha was part of my fathers church and my father thought we fit ,but no here I was thinking about somebody else.  About a boy . I close my eyes placing my fork down. "Mom I should go" I say rounding the table to kiss her cheek and grabbing my bag before I go . Im staring again at his house . He might be gone by now.  Why did I care? I start walking hastily down the street towards school when I arrive Bayley is seated on the steps her nose in a fantasy novel I cant quite place. Bayley spots me and places her book down"hey handsome" she smiles hugging me . If true friends existed Bayley was it " you look tired" she startes fixing my hair her green eyes regarding me warmly. "I didn't sleep so great last night" "Dirty dreams " Bayley teases.  If only she knew . "Well lucky for you I brough coffee" she grins grabbing a large flask from her bag "how well do I know you" "Thanks Bayles" I grin . " so whats new " Bayley asks unscrewing the lid before handing it to me. "I have a neighbour " "Oh whats her name"Bayley winks "Its a guy" I roll my eyes. "Even better . Name" "Seth" I say letting it roll of my tongue. " remind me to visit more often" Baylet says with a wiked grin . I laugh. " is he hot" Bayley asks green eyes curious. I don't think hot is the right word . He was beyond that. " I guess" I shrugg trying to look uninterested. " well Il have to check him out" she claps her hands together "today Il focus on the new guy" Seth would start today . I really hoped he wasnt in my class.  " we should go to class" "Party pooper " "You love me" I state looping my arm around her shoulders . "Way to much" Bayley grins as we head to class . Bayley and I manage to make it to Mr Park in time for Bio chemistry.  We quickly find our seats. Suddenly everything goes quite.  "Class we have a new student with us today from California" Mr Park announces .Bayley's mouth is hanging open I revert my eyes to the front of the class spoting Seth . My lungs burn . How can he be so damn perfect. "Hi everyone I'm Seth Abrams"he sayd with a grin . His wearing dark boots and right geans his muscular body is hugged by a dark shirt showcasing his strong arms . "Well hello neighbour " Bayley says leaning closer to me. "Shh" I say a little to loudly and he spots me his brown eyes boring into mine and a smile spreading across his face. "Well Mr Abrams if you could take a seat anywhere we can get started" I know instantly he will sit close to me ,he asks Gorgi to move . She quickly smiles and moves without question and he sits righy infont of me. He turns "Hey neighbour " he says in a low vioce that makes my toes curl. "Hi" I say looking away. I struggle to remian focused during class my eyes wonder to his neck,his strong back and his thick black hair . What is this? When class is finaly over I'm releaved . I aviod Seth when Bayley pulls me by my hand out the door. "You should of said he was godlike"Bayley says squeezing my hand "that boys s*x on legs " "Bayley seriously I don't care" I lie standing agianst my locker. Bayley eyes shoot over my shoulder her cheeks turning red, I turn finding Setb behind me . "Alex" he says my name and something inside me shifts . Warmth spreads through me "which class do you have next" he asks . "English " I say folding my arms . Why do I feem so out of place. He looks disappointed "I have art" "Me too . I'll take you" Bayley offers he smiles thankfully but his eyes find me again"lets go new kid" "I'll see you later Alex" I'm not trying to look as uninterested as possible but failing Seth looks back at me with a secret smile and I find myself staring after him until he dissapears form view . The day is a blur I try my best not to think of Seth but my mind keeps going back to him always watching me, always giving me a secret smile that I can't quite understand I wonder what this feeling is this feeling of uncertainty, this feeling of excitement maybe there was something wrong with me. By the time school is finished I'm relieved to go home for the first time in my 17 years. "Alex Alex" Bailey shouts my name excitedly but she's not alone Seth walks next to her hands in his pockets" so I was thinking maybe we could show Seth the Diners around here since he's new in town " "Sure why not" Bayley seems surprised . Seth smiles. Bayley phoned buzzes and she quickly awnsers"hi ,oh mom sorry I forgot . Okay I'm sorry" she hangs up. "Sorry guys I'm gonna have to raincheck I forgot that my mum needs my help at the store" she hugs me"  you guys should go to dinner though Alex you should take Seth to Hali's" Bayley says Seth gives me a look questioning. "Okay " I say.  Bayley heads to her car leaving us alone. There is a silence that scratches. "So can I give you a ride" Seth asked brown eyes searching mine but for the first time they are so soft and warm I don't feel as intimidated. I nod smiling back Softly at him . We head to his black SUV it's clear that he comes from a rich family before I can even consider a opening my door his they're pulling the door open for me he brushes past me and I suck in a deep breath. As if noticing my reaction leans in with a smile "you can get in now Alex" he says with a hint of amusement. Gosh this man was frustrating I try my best not to glare at him, feeling embarrassed I quickly climb in the car and put on my seatbelt Seth watched watches me intently.It's strange that he seems like the typical bad boy and yet I found myself feeling that he might actually have a softer side. Still lots in thought Seth leans closer ,I suck in a deep breath his eyes search mine and I try to remain perfectly still then his hands reach across me and he turns down the window "sorry"he says" thought you might need some air " his eyebrows furrowed he quickly touches his hand to my forehead" it is a little bit warm today and your cheeks are flushed " his lips are so close and he smells so good . I swollow. "Thanks" I say my vioce small . He smirks pulling back and away from me . "So were am I giong " Seth asks reving the car to life . I explian to him trying my best to aviod his eyes. Seth smiles quickly pulling off and I can't help sitting there thinking that this feels like I'm going on a date.  what am I doing with Seth Abrams? Chapter 3 Seth orders Hali's famous cheese burger his boyish grin spreading as his eyes search the diner . I cant help but stare his so diffrent from anyone Iv ever met , maybe thats why I found him so interesting . "Alex" Seth says pulling me back from my rights his eyes soften" everything okay" "Yeah" Seth purses his lips "are you always so shy" I frown shifting in my seat "I'm not shy" "Seems that way"He says pulling at gis lower lip eyeing me . I ignore the effect it has on me . "I just met you" I say as a matter of factly. "So your not open to new people " "It just takes me a while to get used to people" this was a lie . I was a sociable person but Seth was diffrent he made me nervous. He made me unsure of myself. "Id like to get to know you" Seth says leaning on the table . "As friends sure" I say sipping at my soda his eyes are lowering to my lips . Its clear that I effect him too. "Your very interesting Alex " he says watching me . " I think you will find me boring after a while" He purses his lips"I honestly dought that" "Alex" a all to familiar vioce calls. Seth and I look up to find Samantha my girlfriend "hey babe " she says pulling my face up to hers .she crushes her lips into mine,I kiss her bath softly before pulling away . Seth looks at Samantha and then to me . He looks disappointed. "Im Sami" she says extending her hand to Seth he shakes it looking uncomfortable "Alex's girlfriend " She says Seth's find mine and he looks away regaining his smile. "Nice to.meet you Im Seth" "Do you want to sit" I ask her trying to be polite. "Oh no babes sorry.  Just wanted  to say hi" she kisses my cheek" the girls are waiting" she says gesturing to her friends in the booth across the dinner. They are staring at Seth who seems totaly oblivious. "Call me later okay" " sure " I smile meekly before she leaves back to her table . Seth is stretched back in his seat his eyes wondering off. "Sorry about that" I say trying to get him to look at me again. "She's cute"Seth says smiling but this smile is not as warm . "Yeah shes a nice girl " I say simply.  The waitress comes and we both eat our food quietly. When were done Seth takes me to his car and opens the door for me I mumble thank you and climb in. He gets in beside me and there is a strange shift in the air . Something strange and unfamiliar. "Your seat belt" he says hands curling on the wheel. "What" I ask confused, Seth looks at me for a long moment before sighing and leaning in towards me "what are you.." I start and he quickly pulls on the seat belt trying in around me . His breath is against my cheek. I blink up at him his eyes are so close ai can see fleks of green around his pupels. His lips part . I swollow. His so close.  He smells so good , I feel dizzy I find my fingers incirling his upper arm around his bicep , he blinks at me . His skin is hot and smooth.  All I can think of is how close he is. His fingers move from the seatbelt to the back of my neck pulling me forward.  I gasp. His eyed darken and his lips move closer to mine " good boys don't foget there seatbelts " he breathes against my ear . I close my eyes the sensation sets me off. "Seth" I say his name "I should take you home " Seth says swallowing before he moves away from me . Im breathing hard . And I can feel I'm hard.  I pull my jacket ofd and olace it over my lap looking away embarrassed. Did I get aroused by a guy? And better yet did I just get turned down.  Seth drives me home,when he switches the car off I reach for the door "wait" "I need to get away from you right now" I say closing my eyes "forget what almost happened" I say looking at him.  He looks confussed. "Alex I wanted to.." he leans back sighing "I just didn't want to rush into things" "Like I said forget it" "I cant" Seth says leaving closer my hands touch his chest pushing hin away " please don't pretend that it didnt happen" "Nothing happened" I snap "Alex we almost kissed" " I'm not gay " I shout ,Seth flinches and I realize Iv gone to far" I'm sorry I just, we shouldn't talk about it" "Why" "Because I have a gf"I lie. Because I cant be gay Because my father will kill me. Because If I like you I'll loose everything. "This never happened " I say.  Seth nods letting me go . I open my door "Il see you at school " "Sure" he says unable to meet me eyes before he pulls out of my driveway and into his next door . I stare my heart clenching as he continues to not look back and he slams his front door . It was for the best. It was how it had to be and I needed to keep myself from being to close to Seth at all costs. Even if something inside me felt like it was braking into a million pieces.  I hadnt slept much that night after what had almost happened between me and Seth. When I got to school Bayley is standing by my locker talking to Seth . His eyes remain focused on her when I say hello ,I feel dissapionted but this is after all what I asked for . Bayley gives me a questioning look her arm looping through mine. "You okay " she wispers I look at Seth whos eyes meet mine briefly before lowering. "I'll see you later Bayley"Seth says brushing past me I try not to flinch.  "Did you piss him off" Bayley asks frowning. "How should I know" I snap " okay " she says pulling her arm from mine "Al you know you can be straight with me" "Yeah " I swollow smiling apologetically at her.  "Seth seems like a great guy so if you did something talk it out" Bayley knows me too well "talk it out okay" Bayley hugs me. I hug her back enjoying the comfort . We head to class and I try to consider how I can rectify the damage I had done . I ruined the opportunity to even be friends.  When lunchtime arives I wait for Seth alone . He almost walks right past me but I grab his wrist "Seth " "I thought we were forgetting " Seth says looking down at my hand. "Can we talk please" I say softly looking at prying eyes . He starts following me outside. "So whats up" "Im sorry for last night " I say meeting his eyes head on. He purses his lips "which part" my cheeks heat . "My reaction and how I treated you" "I think you should be more sorry for hiding who you are Alex" he says his eyes softening "their is nothing to be ashamed of" " I'm not gay " I say looking Around anxiously. "Alex I'm not giong to tell anyone " "I just need you to know .. what happened it was a fluke" Seth scoffs. "Okay Alex" "Look I'm okay being friends even if you are " I realise I sound like a total asshole when I say it . Seth folds his arms looking even more handsome " who said I am" "You don't like guys?" I ask " I like guys and girls " Before I can reply he steps closer "don't label me Alex" I nod my cheeks heating again.  Seth smiles extending his hand . "Im okay with being friends " he says shaking my hand . His eyes are so deep and dark looking into mine . The feeling returns in my stomich , why can't I pull away. "Friends" I say as if trying to convince myself. "We should go eat before times out"Seth says letting go of my hand I follow him back inside .  Bayley smiles when she sees us .Seth tells us about this perants and his life back in California.  His perants were both lawyers and he has a little brother named Justin . Seth looked softer as hw talked about his family . I wondered what it was like to have perants that were supportive.  When the day ends Bayley says goodbye and Seth asks me to drive with him . I agree trying not to think to much about the kiss we almost had . Seth seems unaffected.  When we pull into my driveway I face him and smile kindly "thanks for the ride" He grins"anytime neighbour " his smile makes my stomich feel warm and fuzzy " you should go inside" he says noticing me staring. "See you later" I say "Here " Seth says handing me a piece of paper "my number " I blink at him "thanks" I say grabbing my bag and slaming my door behind me trying not to look back at him . When im safely inside I look through the peephole when he drives away. I opened the paper smiling at the number scribbled on it and the name YOUR NEIGHBOUR with wings on it. Seth was one of those people who would always be fascinating and that was one of the main reasons I wasnt aware of what I was feeling.
