Chapter Seven: Regards, Edmond Vanderbilt.

ALEC. Kai Chen. The famous mercenary who works for Edmond Vanderbilt. I wonder why he is here? And how in the world does Amelia know who he is? 'She is a protector, she has to know all threats!' Agreeing with my wolf, I started walking towards Amelia who is currently stood with Lyle and Evan. She laughed out loud at something Evan said. Actually laughed. My heart soared, she sounds beautiful. I walked behind her, my hands rested on the small of her back. I waited for her to remove it but instead, she remained rooted in her spot. Lyle glanced at me then my hand and a small smile reached his face as he took a quick look at Amelia who was still chatting away with Evan. "Why are stood out here?" I asked but before I could get any kind of answer, a voice boomed in the hallway. "AMELIA BLACKWELL? IS THAT REALLY YOU?" We all turned around and to my surprise Roman Santos is stood a meter away, a smile on his face as he realises its Amelia. "Oh my Goddess! Roman!" she squealed as she ran straight over and into his arms. Anger riled through me as I watched him hug her, watched his hands touch her while she smiled and laughed. She didn't even try to push him off. Evan and Lyle laughed at my red face and balled fists. Its almost coincidental. Walking over, I took Ameila out of his arms and held her close to me. I hear Evan swear behind me and I glanced down to Amelia who looks like she wants me six feet under. "Ah! Prince Alec!" Roman bowed infront of me. "It's an honour." "Yeah." I rolled my eyes before turning to Amelia. "You're letting another man touch you? I am your mate!" "Aw! Congratulations!" Roman cooed and I furrowed my eyebrows. "I always knew she was meant to be a Princess." he winked at Amelia who nudged him with a glare. "Oh sorry. Anyway! I'll see you later! Keep me updated with this!" he pointed to me with a smirk before running off and heading towards the canteen. Amelia shoved me backwards, her face red with fury. "You are- You're-" "I'm what?" "You're a f*****g asshole Alec. He is one of my long time friends! Actually, he is my best friend who also happens to be Gay!" she shoved me back and I feel my face flush red with embarrassment. "But its okay right? When Mia touches you?" "Amelia that's not-" "Save it." she scoffed. "Just, stop Alec." she pinched the bridge of her nose before letting go and putting her hands on her hips. "You need to stop being a hypocrite. If you carry on I swear to the Goddess, I will reject you. Publicly." "You wouldn't dare." I growled but she smiled. "There is nothing with me and Mia. I swear." "Well then act like it. There is no way I'll accept a bond with someone who has a leech on them all the time." she spat before picking up her bag and walking towards the canteen. I faced Evan and Lyle. They just shrugged at me and followed Amelia. Am I really that bad? Is there something I'm missing? ------ The second we stepped into the castle, I could sense the tension already. Thick, harsh, abnormal tension. Incredibly uncomfortable. Also incredibly uncommon. Walking through to the meeting room, Amelia and Lyle said they would join us later. They have a meeting with Arianna so for now, its just me and Evan. My father is stood up, his hands on either side of the table as my mother gently squeezed one of his hands. Evan stood with his parents on my fathers right whilst Mia stood on the left with hers. Gage snarled and before I could register what I was doing, I threw Mia out of the room. "Prince Alec!" her mum yelped but I shook my head. "I don't want them in here. The entire Gamma family has to leave. You are causing issues between me and my mate, I won't allow it." I snapped and my father nodded his head, agreeing as they were escorted out by warriors. Much to Gamma Brian's protest. He's been a good man but I don't trust him. Since Amelia announced what she knew last night, its been bugging me and I don't agree with his or the Gamma family behaviour. From now on, if my mate doesn't like someone, neither do I. Sitting down, I gestured for my father to talk, he took a deep breath before pulling a letter from his pocket. 'Dear Beryngold Monarchy. It has come to my attention that you have my daughter in your pack. I would like to visit your kingdom this week to take her home. Failure to comply will result in war. You have till 12pm tommorow to respond. If not, I will send my warriors to decimate your pack. Regards, Edmond Vanderbilt. My fingers gripped the letter, small creases appearing on the paper. Turning to my father, I waited for a response. "Well, where is she?" "We don't know! We haven't seen her for two years!" he snapped and I ran my hands over my face. "If he declares war-" "He won't." Arianna strolled in. "He won't declare war however, we-" she wagged her fingers between herself and Lyle. "Know where Ember Vanderbilt is." Myself and my mum stood up, our wolves on edge as its been two years since she had disappeared. We never joined the search but my mother grieved for her. Our packs never have seen eye to eye but my mum warmed to Ember. My dad always said he felt bad for her but that it wasn't pur problem. Focus on the matters at hand, he would say. Caramel filled my nose and I sucked in a deep breath as the one bit of comfort I need right now, is my mate. The door opened and the figure behind it isn't Amelia. Goddess I'd recognise her anywhere. But its her scent. Caramel. Wait a minute... it can't be! "Oh Moon Goddess." my mother gasped her fingers trembling at her mouth. "Amelia?" "My real name, is Princess Ember Vanderbilt."
