The Girl Back in Heels : Episode - 1
Part 1
Jennifer’s childhood was filled with humiliation and mockery. She only looked happy and wore a smile when she was at home. At school and outside, all she faced was teasing and ridicule. Even among friends, it was the same, because she was a chubby, overweight girl.
Her weight was hereditary—both her father and mother were heavyset. During PTA meetings, when her parents came along, the children would laugh at Jennifer and make fun of her family too.
After finishing her 10th grade, she joined another school for higher secondary. That was where she first met Aaron. Even there, everyone isolated Jennifer—except Aaron. He was the only one who treated her as a true friend.
“From now on, you don’t have to worry about anything. I’ll be there for all your happiness, your sorrows, and your needs,” Aaron promised.
“You’re saying this now, but later… will you leave me too?” Jennifer asked fearfully, scared that she would once again be abandoned.
“Never,” Aaron replied firmly. He promised her that he would never leave her side.
Hearing this, Jennifer felt overwhelming happiness. For the first time, she introduced Aaron, her dearest friend, to her family. Her mother too was delighted, because it was the first time she had ever seen Jennifer return from school with such joy and a smiling face.
Days turned into months, and by the end of their first year, Aaron proposed to her. Jennifer rejected him at first.
“This isn’t right, Aaron. We can never be together. You’ll find a much better girl than me,” she said.
“No, Jenny. I don’t want anyone else. I can’t move forward in life without you, because I love you that much,” Aaron confessed.
“Aaron, this is just an attraction. It will fade over time, and then you’ll be forced to leave me. You’ll feel that I’m—”
Before she could finish, Aaron covered her mouth with his hand.
“Jenny, don’t ever say that. This is not an attraction. I love you deeply. I don’t even know how else to explain it to you,” he said with desperation.
Jennifer fell silent for a while.
“I need to think. Please give me some time,” she finally murmured.
“Jenny, what’s there to think about? Don’t you know me? Don’t you trust me enough?”
“It’s not that, Aaron. I just… I need to think.”
“Fine, do whatever you want,” Aaron snapped in frustration, and they parted ways that evening.
That night, Jennifer lay awake. Aaron’s words echoed in her mind. Should she accept him? Should she say she loved him too? Or should she refuse? She couldn’t decide. Tossing and turning, she finally drifted off to sleep.
Part 2
The next morning, Jennifer woke up, stood before her mirror, and smiled. She admired her reflection, feeling a beauty in herself she hadn’t noticed before. She dressed carefully, looking her best, and reached school early. At the gate, she waited for Aaron.
After a while, Aaron arrived. He looked at her, gave a small smile, and walked past without showing any sign of remembering last night’s conversation. Jennifer grew nervous and walked slowly behind him. When Aaron noticed she hadn’t caught up, he turned around.
“Aren’t you coming? What’s wrong with you today?” he asked.
Blushing slightly, she hurried to his side.
“Aaron, were you serious about what you said yesterday?” she asked softly.
Aaron looked confused.
“What are you talking about? What did I say? I don’t remember,” he replied casually.
Hearing that, Jennifer’s face fell. She said nothing and walked ahead slowly. Aaron stood still for a moment, watching her. Then he quickly ran up to her.
“Jenny, I told you, didn’t I? I love you so much. I wasn’t joking. You don’t understand me at all. Should I prove it to you again?”
“It’s not that I don’t understand… but later you might—”
“Later what? Do you think I’ll cheat you? Do you really think I would ever hurt you? Jenny, I promise you—I will never cause you pain,” he said with sincerity.
Tears filled Jennifer’s eyes. She believed his words and whispered her acceptance. Both of them smiled, walking hand in hand to class.
That day, someone complimented Jennifer.
“You look beautiful today. What happened? Why are you so pretty today?”
Jennifer blushed.
“Maybe that’s just what you think,” she replied with a shy smile.
Those were the happiest days of her life. The friendship that once gave her laughter had now turned into the sweetness of love.
But their classmates opposed their relationship. Everyone blamed Jennifer, saying she would ruin Aaron’s life. Jennifer didn’t care. She believed Aaron would always be by her side. Even when people mocked and criticized her, she stood strong with Aaron’s support.
Their love was powerful enough to withstand anything.
