Like the good girl that Carol usually becomes after a punishment, although I decided not to punish her this time, she goes downstairs to apologize to Kevin. Her eyes are red due to all the crying she has been doing. I carry her downstairs to find all the remaining three of them sitting in the living room, solving a puzzle. They all stop and look at us and all three of them look scared, to say the least. Kevin and Ana have had their baths and are ready for bed already. I stand Ana.
"I - I am sorry Kevin for being so mean and rude. I promise you it won't happen again." She says. Kevin gets up and for a brief second I think he is going to hit her but he hugs her fiercely, telling her it's alright. I can't hold back the smile that spreads across my face.
