Heartbeat Celeste's POV Saturday nights transformed the café into something entirely different. On most days, it was a place people passed through. Students occupied the tables nearest the outlets, surrounded by laptops, reviewers, and half-finished cups of coffee. Conversations were usually hushed, interrupted only by the occasional hiss of the espresso machine or the scraping of chairs against the floor. The café had always felt like a temporary space, somewhere people stayed only long enough to finish a requirement, survive a deadline, or escape the noise of the outside world. Tonight, however, it felt alive. Strings of fairy lights cast a warm glow across the room, softening the edges of everything they touched.
