Chapter 25: Ange“EVERYTHING ALL RIGHT? Is it another vision?” Ravel’s female attendant leans over the edge of the bed. She produces a delicate cup of dust and presses it to my lips. “Ravel’s orders.” Her eyes are hooded, inscrutable as she tips the drink into my mouth. It burns down my throat. I slump against the cushions as warmth seeps through me. With it comes a heavy, dizzy feeling that erases my frustration with Cadence. I taste sweet spice on my tongue and lick my lips for stray drops. “Feel better?” The attendant asks.
